I think if you look at just the last two years of British politics and what the government here have, and have not told us about things for YEARS,
you will see that there are plenty of secrets that would have been better off out in the open from the position of the people.
The expenses scandal, the undercover officers sent to incite people to acts of eco terrorism, the constant suggestion that Britain DID know about
extraordinary rendition of captive terrorism suspects and subsequent torture. There is much about which we are routinely lied to,which would have us
up in arms were we aware of its reality as a nation, rather than as a disperate group of suspiscious minds, as is now the case.
Another serious example would be the case of the death of Ian Tomlinson,a news paper vendor who was shoved to the ground by a police officer during
the G20 protests ,resulting in his death from a heart attack a short while later. He was just on his way home, and no threat to anyone. For much of
the time immediately after the incident , we were not allowed to know the name of his assailant, and the original investigation lead to a false result
that meant the officer could not be prosecuted. This incident has only just been bought to an acceptable conclusion, and charges are only JUST NOW
being considered on that officer.
The only reason that this case was not immediately prosecuted as an unlawful killing, is that the government did not wish for the police to be seen
in a bad light at the time, and made every effort to conceal, to pevert reality, and allowed the police service to close ranks, instead of doing what
they should have been doing about it,and carving through to the heart of the matter, and having the jack booted thug murderer up on charges of
manslaughter.
The vast portion of secrets kept by government , thier agencies and agents, and every branch and sinew of government are kept for reasons which good
men would find unacceptable. It cannot be allowed to continue.
