And yet there's millions(potentially tens, depending on which report you read) of illegal fire arms in the UK, guess who has them all? Criminals. What world are you living in? Anyone can get a gun in this country, it really wouldn't be difficult. Just find some low level drug dealer, he'll get his drugs from another drug dealer, 2 or 3 people up the pyramid and you're talking machine gun level weaponry. And when these people break in your house and aim a gun at you, what are you gonna do?

A gun in the house should be absolutely legal. The only reason people are against guns is because the government and media have been relatively clever and tied the right to bear arms with being something chiefly American and hickish. People aren't against owning guns, they're against Americans. It's that simple. Media propaganda to remove our rights, pretty soon you won't be able to walk to the park with a cricket bat. Any form or protection or self defence is illegal, got to have us peasant folk made dependent upon government and police.

You're being daft mate. It's the one thing America has right, the one progressive law they have, the right to defend yourself and your property from intruders. In Britain you can stab a robber in the arse with a fork and will see jail time.

Pro-Establishment people like yourself need to wake up. You might enjoy your nice little OxBridge bubble but the majority of people in the real world need a form of self defence to deter criminals.

Here's something for you to check, the burglary and violent crime rate in the UK compared to the US. If you bothered to check that you'd soon realise the UK is far more dangerous, because criminals are allowed to run freely and have no fear. These are the frequent and applicable crimes the common man must deal with. You've got more chance being hit by a car than you have being shot in America. It's not a big deal, only to people who want to take away freedoms.



Also you omit the fact Britain has one of the best hospital services in the world, and free at that. This goes a long way in preventing potential deaths and keeping them as nothing more than serious injury.

And here's a fact for you, guns are legal in many progressive Democratic nations. Switzerland has one of the highest gun ownership rates in the world it's a requirement, actually. And here's one for the record too, their murder by gun rate is insanely low, I believe about 30 people a year in the whole country. The rate of killing with guns is about 1 for every 300,000 people. Why, because they're a Democratic nation with an educated population. And because people aren't breaking into houses with the threat of being shot with an automatic rifle.

I'm a through and through Socialist, and America politically gives me the lulz, but it's a real shame that the British media are using Anti-American sentiment to spread anti-gun propaganda and quash liberty, freedom and the right to self protection.

But hey, if you're happy depending on an incompetent police force to defend your family, do you. From where I'm sat it's just an excuse to take pot-shots at America.

As far nobody anyone questioning Bush or Clinton's citizenship status was because there was no question about it. They both did have questions raised about other things though. Was Bush's military past brought into question because he was white? Was Clintons sex scandal jumped on because he was white?

Yesterday I heard a lot of Obama bashing. Just about none of it had anything to do with policy, the man, or his job as president. It was all "he is different," hiding something, mysterious, scary, needs to get off the basketball court, etc. Then good Old Sally Kern gets on the House Floor and announces that black people are just lazier than white people and I come to ATS and see these posts about how there is NO RACISM, and he is only half black, and the race card is tired and old, etc.
