Comets have two tails.

One made of gas

One made of rocks.......

Rocks a little bit larger than a grain of sand are very dangerous......we track just about everything in orbit bigger than a half dollar to try to keep the space station out of the way

you halfway correct, but you make it seem like you know stuff, like there isnt a danger and we do it all the time....
It was just a week or two ago the people on space station had to go to a safer part because they thought they were going to get hit by a peice of space debris.....It was serious,,,it made MSM.....

you need more research before you post something you think is right

Well you are halfway correct too.
A comet has two tails. One is dust the other is ionized gas. www.windows2universe.org...

The space junk they were moving away from was debris from an old sattelite. Much larger than dust and so the threat was exponential.

I'm sorry, did I miss something... (perhaps by 21.72 million miles or so...)

I look at this thread, I go through it and I am perplexed.
Some people say that there's no information on this comet (who's name is actually a rather unexciting C/2010 X1) anywhere (erm Google thinks otherwise) others that NASA/JPL are hiding things... and others explain that it's going to hit the ISS(!), and others state categorically that it's coming and it's going to come precisely 43,000 miles from Earth...
I Googled it, I went to the JPL Site and found it in seconds, nobody seems to be hiding anything.

Quite simply the most exact data I can (legitimately ) find is this:
JPL:

As you can see at the bottom of the page, it's going to be a little bit further than 43,000 miles away...
To summarize: the minimum distance is: 0.233685410470319 AUs
That equates to 21.72 million miles as you can see on Wolfram Alpha:
www.wolframalpha.com...
That's 1/4 of the distance from the Earth to the Sun.
If they are that far off in their calculations, I think that some of the hundreds of thousands of Astronomers might have something to say about such a terrible miscalculation... I look on the SpaceObs site, and I don't see any terribly concerned Astronomers: spaceobs.org...

As for people equating this comet to causing earthquakes, well... it's a small body (2-3km in size) in the asteroid belt right now, if it's affecting the earth from that distance it's got some bloody weird powers that I'm not aware of...

I'm sorry, I'm checking out of this thread...
Why oh why do threads like this get 23+ pages of back and forth excited and breathless commentary whilst an interesting and genuinely perplexing thread about VG-1991 (an object that is in Earth's exact orbit) gets barely 2 pages... but no answers... (People use the Search Term for that one).

because everyone who will listen has already heard. i never thought i would be in this situation, so i never took care to hide who i am on the internet. obviously this isn't my real name, but it isn't hard to figure out.

in a few months, you can't say someone didn't tell you. at any rate, this thread serves no purpose. people will either believe, or not. and i have no control over that. i feel as if i've done my job in relating what little i know.

Well Bob Sholtz,

All I can say is that I am very pleased you made this thread. Judging by the Stars and Flags, a considerable amount of other people are too.

I appreciate your information. You didn't have to share anything with us, but you did. you knew you would be challenged, and you stuck to your story.

You are one of the posters that I believe- for not having a source cited source.

Keep safe- Will

Elenin is on an elliptical orbit which brings it to earth every ~3600 years. FACT

That is not a FACT ! The 3600 years came from Sitchin and the whole Nabiru/ Anunaki crowd. Astromomers believe this comet has an orbit of over half a million years!

To claim that a comet will strike a floating TRAILER six months in advance is all anyone educated beyond 5th grade would require to conclude that the "Scientist" is 14 years old, a hardcore fan of Fringe and tha aire aparent to the President of the Mark Hammal fan Club.

As I have been reading through this thread, a thought came to mind with your statement:

I mean if I had info that the world was being lied to about an "Extinction Level Event" AND I was an expert in the field AND I was positive it was going to happen, the last place I would post the info would be here.

I can understand your sentiment. Allow me to ask a question in return:

If you and your family were guaranteed a space in a secure underground bunker and all you had to do is keep quiet about what you knew and you had friends you were concerned about, what would you do? Perhaps hint to the truth quietly to a friend so your friend would be able to plan ahead?

Just wondering.

Be Well

I have actually thought about that point and discounted the notion.

First, There are too many amateur astonomers to promise all of them and their families a place in the supposed bunker/ARK.
Second, A real insider would have access to the information, be able to download onto a CD or thumbdrive and provide that to a friend or WikiLeaks or the news.
Third, If TPTB are so powerful they'd know that a person talked and kill them or discredit them.

Finally, this type of post is the same old post that promises everything but gives nothing. This and every other post like it contain inactionable intelligence. It provides no real source other than "some guy told me." AND if one of your buddies was an insider and told you this information would your first reaction be to post it HERE?

No offense to the owners of this site or the folks who post here regularly but, come on! The first thing I would do is ask for a memo or something showing this so I could take it to an actual news source. WikiLeaks reaches more people than this site and more people are apt to believe the information on that site.

This is just repackaged crap by someone who wants to cause fear and it's working. Over a hundred flags for a thread that provides no actionable information....wait, I mean, NO INFORMATION. It's garbage.

What's he stuck to if he's asking that the thread be deleted? I'm not judging him at all, but he's not stuck to anything if the threads gone. (If he's really in danger though, fair enough.) For all we know he could be part of a shill brigade that's getting people ramped up with fear and madness then leaving behind no evidence. We all know that when the evidence, or claims, disappear, people start going on about conspiracies more.

True, but this proves he isn't prioritizing has Stars or Flags. It's not important to most, but some can get a little crazy about little things like that..

And if someone were to be after him, it wouldn't be hard to find his IP, identify who he is, and discover who is in his life that has a degree of a NASA scientist. It would help if he were running Peer Block or something close to that. If I were him, I would want this to remain anonymous too. I don't know if I would go as far to say that his life is in danger, and people are going to beat down his door, but things could become threatening for him.

For all we know, he could be threatened right now! And he might be trying to get rid of what he started.

That is most likely definitely not the case, but it's easy to jump to conclusions like that..

I am just saying I appreciate his view on this. He is just relaying information, and now that this has gained a considerable amount of attention, he wants to gone. Message delivered, no need to trace it back to him.

Did you miss Hale-Bopp a few years after Halleys? THAT was a spectacular show. Twice that year. In April for a bit then again in Nov when it was much much brighter. I am in the northern hemisphere. I will always remember seeing that comet.

That's the whole problem: you don't KNOW anything. You're just sputtering supposition without proof, and enough is enough.

MODS: Please close this thread. It lacks proof, and the OP has been asked numerous times to produce proof, to no avail. Thank you.

that photo you linked is old correct? 50 years you say? could the planet just be out of sight? Or is to much space exposed in that photo where it could take light years to cross it?
