As a general rule kids think the same way their parents did and so on.

What you're brought up as, most stay as.

Same principle in California where people are shallow. The kids there are even more shallow and on it goes.

Blah blah blah.

I think you have psychological issues.

Sure, you like the Confederacy.

But your reasoning is seriously flawed. Flawed to the point where a padded cell might serve you better.

The fact that you choose to castigate and deride people's beliefs merely displays your lack of significance as an individual and that you are disgraceful shell of a human being.

A sure sign you have no real ground to stand on in a debate is when you have to resort to ad hominem and personal attacks

The South will never rise again.

You might as well join Mexico at this point.

Question: Do you have any actual knowledge of your own? Or do you just sit around constantly berating people about the knowledge that they impart? I have read a few of your previous posts and they seem to convey some form of sophistication, but I have yet to see any profound contribution. Do you actually have a purpose? If so it has been lost on me.

The best part of the South is Mexico... It's just called Texas these days and still a favorite place to make money dealing in illicit goods, human or otherwise.

"It doesn't matter what percentage of people believed what" --- "just read your history"? And it never occurred to you that this makes no sense?

What percentage of people believed what is history, and it's completely relevant to why the war was fought. Slavery was certainly an issue that played into the war, but mainly for political reasons, and the North was just as racist as the South, and there were abolitionists in the South just like there were anywhere else in the country. If you asked the common Confederate soldier why he was fighting, the answer you'd get most of the time wouldn't be "so I can keep my slaves," because the vast majority of southerners didn't even own slaves. It was because the Northern states invaded the Southern states, which was seen as an extreme act of treason.

Welfare is not no. It's the principle of it that is the problem. Theres no place for welfare in a capitalist economy. Sorry but humans are still animals and socialism just does not fit with us.

Sigh. See what I mean? Malformed sentences, and an extreme ignorance, combined with self a self-righteous streak that is unique to the below-the-bible-belt culture.

Soon enough, I suppose it really won't matter where we're from, but your ignorance is astounding because you're revealing it to the world. I've lived all over this country and have found one common thread -- ignorance and stupidity have no boundaries and, proportionately, New York has as many ignorant hayseeds as Montgomery, Alabama. If you don't believe that, then you haven't been around. If you think geography determines the distribution of intelligent people, then you are truly sad. Geographic prejudice, like all other prejudice, is an indicator of the lack of intelligence of the person holding on to the prejudice. And, in reference to your earlier post, please, do us all a favor -- stay out of the eugenics pool. We're trying to evolve upward. BTW, as a Southerner who is an economist and lawyer with a 140 IQ, you should really be careful in the future not to make blanket statements as you've done here. It makes you look stupid.

What kind of rosy responses were you expecting from someone who you just accused of having psychological issues and told they deserved to be in a padded cell? You were waiting for exactly that kind of response and then "Suddeny, I feel justified." No kidding, now you feel better about yourself knowing that others will stoop to insults too when you throw them first?

I don't know what your real problem is but it's apparent from your numerous short, derogatory posts to various people on this thread that your objective here is trolling. No, the South isn't rising again, the whole damned country is this time. Do you have a point?

For someone who claims, as you do in your profile, not to like negative people, you should look at yourself first and then judge others. I'd bet most of the negativity comes from yourself.

My only point is to argue about how ignorant/backwards it is for Southerners to long for the confederacy.

I hope this answers your question.

Then by telling others they have psychological disorders and deserve to be locked up in a padded room, you're only showing how backwards/ignorant you are.

Maybe you should try a more logical argument next time?

The "Union" that existed then is the same "Union" of today -- tyrannts bent on making every one a slave to the government/corporate/religious cabal. That defines the victor of the war between the states. Who knows what we would have wound up with had the South won. Not much better, eventually, I'm sure, because people are basically the same everywhere. It's just as ignorant and backwards for anyone to defend the "winners" of that war because we've ended up with a virtual police state.

Considering that even some educated people long for it and many want it for the future it is neither ignorant nor backwards.

So, wanting a return to the values that founded this country is ignorant? Expecting personal responsibility, states and individuals rights to exist freely without overbearing Federal government interference is ignorant?

I'm sorry, but your use of the word ignorant is off-base. I am highly educated, as are most of my friends. I work in the State government, as do many of my friends. Many, many, many people still support the ideals of the Confederacy, and would love to see the country return to those ideals. We may not want to see the country divided, but our opinions are more in line with the Confederacy, and the Founding Fathers, and the Constitution, than anything in our current Federal Government. Therefore our loyalties more closely match those of the Confederates, than those of the current Union.

I would look at your statement and think exactly the opposite. Anyone that can look at the current problems in government, the current problems in society, and the current economical situation, and then NOT support a major overhaul similar to the Confederacy is "ignorant" as you put it. Anyone that can objectively look at the current situation, and has a cursory knowledge of history, and has an ounce of logic in their head, should reach the same conclusion as me, the Tea Partiers, the Rebels, the Rural Country, and Blue Collar folks. I don't know how any educated and objective person could reach a different conclusion?
