The fact the father was sentenced to only three months is what makes the crime so much worse!!!
It's amazing that these things happen all the while we are ignorant to them and have no idea how bad things in are for people in some parts of the world.

What the story and documentaries describe are nothing compared to the bad things we complain about...... in comparison we have nothing to complain about!edit on 12-4-2011 by Havick007 because: (no reason given)

The same negative projections can be said about other religions. You're throwing in stories of atrocities motivated by culture-based belief. There's no such thing as honor killing in Islam.
According to Islam,
■ Maximum punishment for adultery (substantiated by evidence) is caning in public.
■ When a couple of underage girl and boy fall in love, the parents from both families have the responsibility to meet up to reach a win-win outcome or enforce restrictions on the couple.
In Indonesia (the largest Muslim country in the world), mix marriages (couple of different religions - no conversion) are allowed. Does that surprise you?
Hitler was a truly devoted Christian that he even took pride in carrying the cross and maintaning it as a symbol for his military. He killed millions of innocent lives in the entire history. Does it mean all Christians and Christianity itself are the most evil entities?

I think the answer lies in your own post.
You said the girl was killed to 'save her soul'.
What is temporary life here on earth compared to eternity?
If that is the belief system of the family, then, it's a justified killing.
Do I agree with it?
NO!
But is it my belief system and my culture.
Also no.
