Weed is mentally addictive, but so is sex,tv,coffee, and everything else..

and that last one it's true, but only because when someone is arrested if it is a first offense their given the chance to go to rehab or serve time in jail...hmm which would you choose?

I'd take the sex, then the coffee...but like I keep telling my wife, sex is not the answer. It's the question. The answer is yes.

Seriously though, the only people the war on drugs enriches are the drug lords and their stooges in government who ensure the stuff remains illegal...this is just more prohibition, and we all know how successful that was.

Yea what really pisses me off is the fact that Cannabis was in EVERYTHING before the 1900s, they even gave infants Hash Oil to settle them down.

I think that whole stoner stereotype was put into place to diminish people who smoked. Sure you get people that are lazy and do nothing but smoke, but really those people are going to be lazy either way.

Well, I'm no angel and I am critical of everyone just like the rest of you ATSers. Just saying, weed does a lot more than make ropes, it helps people cope with this bs that is our reality.

Cannabis could be used for over 100 diseases.

is one dedicated person who has listed and documented how the use of Cannabis can help aid in anything from chronic pain to migraines and from anorexia to multiple sclerosis.

If cannabis wasn't illegal there would be MANY more studies done to further investigate it's healing properties.

Great link, thanks. I've read quite a bit about how it helps inhibit pain receptors as well as cancerous growths, but I sure would like to see some more long term studies like this one:

Most Influential Progressive 2011 Each month Irvin Rosenfeld goes to his pharmacy and picks up a special prescription, supplied to him by the U.S. government: a canister containing roughly 10 ounces of marijuana in pre-rolled cigarettes.

The study, published in 2002, found, "Results demonstrate clinical effectiveness [of marijuana] in these patients in treating glaucoma, chronic musculoskeletal pain, spasm and nausea, and spasticity of multiple sclerosis. All 4 patients are stable with respect to their chronic conditions, and are taking many fewer standard pharmaceuticals than previously." The only meaningful side effect noted was "mild changes in pulmonary function" in two of the patients -- not surprising, given that investigators found the government's marijuana to be a "crude, low-grade product."

Edit...leave it to the government to distribute "crude, low grade product". I bet it left the lab as a low bush indy from the Hindu Kush, and by the time it got rolled into joints it was oregano.

Truth right there...if I wasn't already star happy I'd star this post. If we didn't have two realities...the one projected by government, and the one the rest of us live in, I bet folks would consume less; I wouldn't, but someone might.

I know, I feel a lingering sense of anxiety about the world all the time. The only thing that's able to keep it in check is the 'dumbing' effect from weed, finally I can experience the stupid serenity that the rest of the world does just for a while.

Crazy right?

It certainly helps my girlfriend control her seizures. As long as she's smoking we can both relax knowing things aren't going to turn scary at any moment.

I can guarantee that a few days to a week after not smoking she will have seizures and off to the hospital we go. The last time was the worst. After 4 days of not smoking she had 5 tonic clonic seizures in as many hours and spent a week in hospital.

She's been smoking regularly since that ordeal in mid January and not one seizure.

There's definitely something to it.

I agree...I think the lazy fooks will be that way anyway. It has a stimulating effect on me though; just lucky I guess. It does wonders for migraines too.

Besides, if the government really wanted their propaganda to stick, they'd distribute weed to every voter.

I don't know how anyone can watch TV without it.
