my logic fails really just how many millions of babies have been killed with over 30 years of abortion in the us alone.

antiwar bullcrap because thats a failure of logic in itself decry war and support abortion

guess what you dont have to get an abortion

We know your logic fails often, that's ok...

Abortion and war are DIFFERENT things, they are not the same, you are losing.

If it is not your body, it is not your business

thats the only thing you can do put others down you do it in every thread on ats and i see no logic in that.

war and abortion arent the same things the both kill and i think thats the most important element there the way i see it thats a huge failure of logic on your part.

if your body is suppose to be your own business then people like you should try practicing what they preach.

You talk a lot of crap, if you did not, I would not beef with you, it is pretty simple Neo

Driving Cars kill, eating Steaks, kill, every breath you take is one step towards death.

You equating War and Abortions is so silly I do not even know how to begin -

Please tell me how they are same? go into some detail, I will be nice, you can be too

You can't say one part of a budget is funded by X and the other Y..... it's all funded by the same source of funds. If the Government gives ANY money to Planned Parent Hood.. it funds EVERY THING THEY DO whether funded by Tax dollars or private donations. 3% of their budget funds abortions. The Us taxpayers give money to the organization. Tax payers fund abortions.

I like PPH.. It's a good organization but to get federal funding, IMO, they should halt all abortion practices.

so, in your opinion, it's about funding or about abortions being wrong?

Short answer: no. But isn't that beside the point? ...and off topic?

GOP war on women: hmm... I think it is a fine bit of hyperbole, but not much truth in it.
But, If you did believe such a thing, then why in the world would you want PPH subject to the whims of the federal government? You must not value it much. It's that or you have a short memory. What would happen if the moral majority clowns gained a super-majority and decided to just drop PPH forever? Don't you see the inherent danger in having PPH under the Federal umbrella at all?

It is precisely about abortion, more specifically it is about government funded abortion. You can employ your demagoguery if you want to, but the fact is that Planned Parenthood performed 332,278 in 2009 alone and even more in 2010. The majority of those abortions were given to minorities. I guess Margaret Sanger's goal of eradicating the black race is in full effect, considering she invented birth control and started Planned Parenthood with that very goal in mind. Whenever you hear a Liberal talk about women's health they are most assuredly talking about abortion. I find the same old argument of how Republicans hate women, hate minorities, hate the poor, hate puppies and kittens, etc... to be laughable. (I'm not a Republican)

Additional perspective:
Who was the majority that voted against this? I personally think this has more to do with profitablity from private security firms, but still ,the women are the victim here.

The following list is one of those Republicans who recently VOTED AGAINST protecting our women from rape when they work overseas with American Contractors. Any woman seeking criminal punishment or civil damages would be submitted to mandatory arbitration for rape cases. The arbitrators would be hired by the contractors. A woman would not stand a chance under such an oppressive scheme.

HOW ANY WOMAN CAN CALL HERSELF A REPUBLICAN AND WORK ALONG SIDE THESE MEN IN CONGRESS OR ANY OF THEIR MILITARY INDUSTRIAL CONTRACTORS OVERSEAS IS BEYOND ME.
A SHORT CHECKLIST OF THE MODERN REASONS FOR THE HATRED
Let's do a short list of the many areas of Republican sexism against American women. The entire list would constitute a book, so let's be brief.

These are some reasons that make me THINK that more people on the right, than compared to the left, whether openly admit it or not, represent an old traditional stance on women, and religion is a part of it, and who is more religious?

1. Bible Ordained Minorities. The late Jerry Falwell publicly stated many times that blacks and women are bible-ordained minorities. They hate any woman who demands equality.

2. Traditional Servitude to the Male. The woman is supposed to stay home and bake cookies, clean the house, and take care of the children, not get involved in politics or assume any leadership position with the males.

3. The Woman's Body Is Not Hers. The idea that a woman can obtain an abortion without male consent is anathema to male Republicans. Her body is not her's, it belongs to his church and god.

4. Women Are for Breeding. Women are for childbearing. Period.

5. Women Are for Sex. Women are to be used as sexual objects, especially in the sects that allow polygamy. As the men in the polygamist sects grow older with their initial women, they need young women to excite them sexually and give them gratification - and child rearing and housekeeping.

6. Women Should Not Be Equal in the Military. The patriarchs in the Republican Party still occasionally introduce legislation to keep women from being the male's equal in the military.

The idea of a combat trained and combat-experienced woman coming home from overseas is a horrible thing for these Chicken Hawks who never served. Worse than that, these women are coming home and becoming Democrats -- and running for public office.

7. Non-White Women Are to Be Hated. Witness the recent attacks on Justice Sonia Sotomayor by the Republicans in Congress. She terrifies them with her intelligence and ability.

8. Republican Men Hate the Woman's Temptation. A lot of these men hate women because the fairer sex actually makes them have feelings and emotions of sexual attraction. This is an ancient problem, i.e. men who can't control their sexual urges nor communicate with women as to their feelings.

9. Republican Men with Homo-Erotic Tendencies Hate Women. This is an old story. Many men are happy living in caves with other men, or in modern apartments in the C-Street House. They engage in strange active or latent homosexual bonding with men and, when they encounter women, they become very afraid. The fear projects into hatred. Only submissive women need apply.

10. Republican Men Want a State Religion with Men in Control. All of the fundamentalist religious groups want a theocracy in the U.S., but this does not mean they will accept women in positions of leadership. They hate the idea that women can make decisions equal to or better than men. Vanity, all is vanity.

11. Protect Men from Assault/Rape Charges by Women.Recently, Republicans Sen. Jim DeMint and Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina voted against a federal law protecting women from the physical and/or sexual assaults of male contractors in our overseas military contracting situations. Again, this is just another example of the hatred Republican men have for women.

www.squidoo.com...

I am not saying that ALL repub's hate women, but rather for this thread and the 2 parties it is addressing, I would say the right has more issues with the progression of women. I can testify that some of my own rebup family members(5 of them) have stated or supported, the idea that women should not do the financing/bills for the house, because they "can't do it right," and that they are here to serve man, from a religious perspective, as the bible says.

Yes our holiday gatherings are always intersting
They also love Hannity and Oreily and Limbaugh.

For more insight, just Google Republicans hate women and see what comes up.

I respect your opinion and willingness to show some flexibility with respect to this issue. It is likely we won't sway each other's minds. As a male there is no way I can truly emote the painful decision a female must make to consider an abortion but I DO feel it IS hers to make. (I'm certain most women contemplate the severe consequences of their decision and it is not taken lightly. It's not some callous act or trivial procedure like having a tooth pulled as detractors typically spin it.) At this point the GOP has their sites set on public funds for PPH despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of PPH's mission is to save lives through cancer screening and prevention of sexual transmitted diseases and a host of other services. However as I noted before, the GOP is not likely to stop there. They've already made overtures towards targeting private insurers who allow abortions by denial of tax credits..

It is worth noting that abortion is not illegal. It's legal according to the constitution, which the supreme court does have the authority to interpret an as such Congress does not have the authority to pass unconstitutional law. Speaking of the constitution, it's ironic that the same group who often complains about government taking away gun rights and encroaching on personal freedoms is somehow complicit on the attack on a women's individual reproductive rights and freedom of choice.

I liken this attack on women's rights as the first of many efforts by the GOP to further their agenda of instilling ideological and religious beliefs. It is like defunding education because schools teach the theory of evolution or offer sex education etc.

But I digress. As we've had our past differences it's refreshing to debate this topic in a rational manner. You present a strong case and are a worthy opponent. I respectfully suggest we agree to disagree. We've both stated our cases and the olive branch is extended....

It's no news to me about the sexual deviancy of these lunatic right wing morons, And it's pathetic there are still stupid B#es that are and vote right for the repugnants, but they usually are newly saved x-tian "ex-strippers" or prostitutes who now still have sex with anything that moves or they're brainwashed dick whipped sheep(le) being led to their own slaughter stupidly or they're a combo off the two. Either way it's both the repugnant rights male and female who have some sort of sexual deviancy. They are the most deviant people I have had the (non) pleasure of knowing! If they wanna kill this B#CH off or my girls well they're gonna get the bulls horns...because I will make sure I quit tobacco, buy a small artillary, give up caffiene and chocolate and just wait for my next menstrual cycle then I'll take every one of those repugs out!

Certainly agree there! Point is you are saying the left has a worse opinion of women than the right by using one person's statement, as if he is representative of the entire left, and I disagree.

well you heard the applause after he said that and apparently there are alot of people who agree with his statements

we are going to disagree here thats fine with me.

but at every turn one side can get away with anything and the other side can't

if its wrong to do for one side its wrong for all sides.
