I shouldn't really have to do this but thank you.

For every insane, lack of common sense and basic reasoning post I'll comment on the next one that shows the user has at least two brains cells in their head.

Yeah, why not? That is why I enjoy ATS. you can put these photos and videos up and then watch the fireworks. Yes, I am serious about that. Also, it has been slow on the UFO threads, but I think this is one of the better photographic anomalies up at this time on the boards. So we can screw with this photo until something exciting happens. So; are you serious? Do you really think that this photo will just go away because you think it is fake. I see no reason not to believe that this is a photograph of a physical 'thing' that was taken by the photographer. Shouldn't be just as easy to prove it is a garden decoration of some sort or a toy? Your whole argument so far is 'it's fake' and 'it's a statue'. So you seem to agree that it is indeed a physical object. What makes you so sure it is a statue? Because it can't possibly be a living thing of some sort? That doesn't wash. Next.

Unbelievable.

Your lack of common sense must get you very far in the world, another do-gooder with the whole "it COULD be an alien" type of attitude. Yes, I agree it's a physical object; a toy or a statue. Are you seriously telling me that you actually consider the object in the photo to be a living creature?

Dude. It comes down to: Is it there or not? Is it physical or not. Why are the nebulous constructions of your feeble mind any more viable than mine? It is your bloody opinion at this point. Maybe you can have it gold plated and put it on your mantle. Now be nice or it's gloves off.

That is hilarious...Common sense. What's that? You mean your common sense is telling you that it is a statue? All right. So DeathKron says 'hoax' using a statue or toy. OK. Opinion noted. I would be willing to bet good money that in the end (if there is one) it will be neither statue nor E.T.. I am going to go check out the footprints. That will kill it for me if they are evident.

Here's a logical explanation for what is happening.

The best way to avoid detection within enemy lines is to hug the perimeter of the area. It's basic stealth tactics. Maybe thats what it was doing. The guy came out with his camera, or probably saw the being within his own home first, came out with the camera and snapped a quickie.

I dont know why its so difficult for you guys to formulate a backstory behind this shot. I can think of a hundred. But it doesnt mean that that isn't a copper alien statue that some people DO in fact make and sell to people for many aesthetic and spiritual purposes.

If you are willing to stick around a little...I never said it was E.T.. Look at the tag line. Sorry to split hairs but this is how I set up my threads when a little bored or distracting myself from homework.. On one level I am interested in drawing out the knee-jerk reactions. Like the one that you have been exhibiting. Maybe experience and common sense tell you this is a fake. nevertheless there is a physical thing in the picture that has not been proven to be either statue or anything else. So the picture stands. That's it. That picture of whatever it is, is right there. It may end up being a hoax. I realize that we have no EXIF data on the photo. There are a lot of photos of this type and, yes, most turn out to be hoaxes. This one probably will as well. But right now I think your opinion is banking on the idea that someone else will do the analysis work and your theory will be proven out (it probably will) but I would not count on it. This photo may prove to be inconclusive (which it will be with no EXIF data) but right now it is unsolved.
I am going to try to see the footprints. I will also try and contact the photographer and I will muck-rake a little to see what I come up with. But I don't know how successful I will be. Usually people are pretty helpful.
In the end I am really doing this to develop my own critical thinking skills and ability to work these types of things out so that I am not fooled or tricked. It is a personal exercise to find out what I think or what I think I think. I suppose lots of folks are doing that here at ATS on some level. I just maybe go about getting education and entertainment a little differently from you. I am certainly not precious one way or the other as to whether or not the photo is a fake.
Pax.

Love this. Unfortunately no one has come up with a photo of a statue (garden or otherwise) that matches. So it must be original artwork. If it is a statue.

Also, DeathKron. People like this sort of thread. They like to look at the picture and decide what they are seeing. Look here at this thread entitled, "Do You See a Gnome in This Picture? 191 replies...

Ever see the movie Grandma's Boy?

Remember the scene where J.P. is standing against the wall with his black jacket?

"How can he see me?!?!?" - J.P.

Clearly a case of a malfunctioning ACME cloaking unit.

Without more pictures from other angles, I would deem this a hoax.

Okay, that's fair enough and I appreciate you taking the time to explain your "way of doing things", makes it a little easier to me to understand where you are coming from.

In one sense you are correct i.e. you have a picture that at present cannot be proven one way or another to not be an alien however in all fairness I think your taking the concept to the extreme e.g. common sense tells you that your not looking at an alien.

But each to their own I suppose...

Hate to break it to you but you'll see a typical trend on ATS that more or less suggests the more outlandish and basically hoax threads will recieve a larger number of replies than a well thought out, intelligent and most importantly challenging thread.

Agreed. This is, to me, the single most intriguing social aspect of ATS. I am not sure if this phenomenon is what 'old-timers' refer to as the New ATS vs. Old ATS. but I am starting to think maybe so. Many of my own threads have been just totally stupid and I have wished for the mods to take them down to save me the public humiliation. I took a chance on this one and so far I think it is good. But I am feeling too lazy and swamped with homework to be a really good OP and grind this to dust in terms of analysis and research.
Anyhow, yeah, I know. For anyone interested in social sciences and just folks in general, ATS is a fun pace. I have learned a lot about myself in a short time. & months or so ago I would have been a rabid defender of the validity of our little friend in the photo. I wish I could wave a magic wand and get the work done but, hey, Sunday and all....gotta make a batch of Toffee for dinner party.

Maybe the ET/creature was cloaking itself by bending light around itself but when you took the picture, it actually took the picture of it because of the light possibly "unbent" I would say. Sort of something like Paul how he can cloak himself whenever he holds his breath.

There's my 2 cents
