Actually it's been shown quite conclusively that it cannot be a statue. There is no room for a statue, and it's center of gravity is forward of the subject, indicating that it is in motion. This has been the consensus of those who have actually bothered to analyze the image.

What does that even mean? If there is room for a solid object there, then there is, whether a statue, an alien, or a loaf of bread. If a statue of that size could not be there, than neither could an alien or a dog or rabid squirrel walking on its hind legs.

As far as center of gravity goes, you are joking, right? They make statues with spikes you stick in your lawn. You are saying an 8" metal spike could not hold up a statue even if the center of gravity is off? You are kidding, right? There are a ton of ways of secure something even against the center of gravity.. c'mon now.

I would be happy to hear your analysis of the photos, and see whatever evidence you may have to support your theories.

C'mon, folks. look at the detail of this picture; I get that this is a really anomalous photo and some would like to feel safe in the refuge of believing that it is a statue but really look at the photo. Who would build a statue like that? If you are going to build a statue just to hoax a picture why not at least put two legs on it? That way at least you would be able to stand it up if that was your plan. If you look at the photo part of the rear leg is missing and you can almost see the masonry work through the front leg. Is that part of the 'statue' hoax too? If so then what a weird hoax. Instead of just having a reaction to this photo really look at it.
The more I look at it the more I believe in the veracity of the man who took the photo. Thanks again to Woghd for the clean up on these.

OMG!!

They decoded the VMS!

I don't know how I missed your lengthy thread here.

I took that picture from the UFO casebook and put in an editor. I used every filter I have. It is just too far away and the resolution is too bad for me to make anything out.

One thing I noticed is when you zoom tight, no filters, the arm in the front of the 'creature' has a very straight section to it. That seemed very unnatural, as in cgi?

Other than that, I can't really tell anything, but my first gut reaction was faked.

This is the problem with digital.

Too easy to fake, too hard to prove otherwise.

People, If you see something strange please try to use 35mm with a negative.

Do you know that lots of casino's will not use digital for this reason?

Sooo obviously fake! it looks two dimensional in the zoomed segment and it casts no shadow.

I'm beggining to tire of saying this.

STOP HOAXING IT'S THIS SORT OF DIBBLE THAT SEES TO IT THE WORLD AT LARGE WONT TAKE THE ET IDEA SERIOUSLY!!!

if you out as much energy into actually investigating you might find something REAL!!!

Oh, you have investigated this? Could you share with us your methods and results?

Titor, would you like to explain why you think the 'thing' should be casting a shadow?. Also, if this is a hoax I am not the hoaxer. I merely posted the picture so that other members could take a look at it and offer an opinion on what it is. So you think it is fake. Thanks for stopping by.

Although the picture may not be fake, the alien visitor certainly looks fake, I feel like to argue that it was real you would have to have an idea of where he is going... its weird that hes headed for the bushes? Very interesting though regardless.

Analysis? C'mon.. there are many ways in which this can be faked. Including a metal rod attaching this directly to the wall, as it is very close to it. Everyone thought the Cottingley fairies were real as well.. until they admitted to it being a hoax so many years later. Those photos were "examined" by all sorts of experts, and determined to be legitimate. Just goes to show how easy it is to dupe people.

A single photo of a monochrome object.. you can't possible prove anything about it. It could be on a stand. It could be staked into the ground. It could be attached to the wall. There is no analysis to be done, because it could be faked in many ways. It looks like a statue to me. It's a solid color, as if made from a single material.

Bottom line is you won't prove anything one way or the other. Saying things like "conclusively proved it's not a statue" is ludicrous however, you've proved no such thing.

It casts no shadow because the sun is not in that part of the garden, the sun can be seen quite clearly at the front (right side) of the picture where it's shining down on the grass.

It's funny the little alien doesn't seem to notice having his picture taken.

Please....

I think that if we are going to assume any attitude at all for the little guy it would be one of indifference. I don't think he cares if his picture is being taken because he probably thinks he is invisible. So I think the 'thing' would be just as surprised to find that it's picture had been taken as the photographer was to find the picture.
I think it is important when making a statement like this to remember that the image in the photograph was a surprise to the landscaper. He did not know the 'thing' was there when he took the photo.

So just running with that thought for a minute, an alien with the ability to become invisible wouldn't realise that he was actually visible to the human eye?

Come on, your running yourself into the ground with this one.

The human eye did not capture the picture, a camera did! If you think it is fake then really what more can you add to this thread other than your opinion?

People here are trying to make sense of the picture and your posts are fairly pointless as you have already made your mind up.

Where is your evidence that its fake?

Where is your evidence that it's real?

My evidence is based on common sense, if you really, really require me to break it down for you then here we go:

1.) Photo was posted on April Fool's day

2.) If the object in the picture was actually some sort of living creature, surely it would realise it was being photographed. I took a picture of a Sheep at work the other day and guess what, even a bloody Sheep looked at me whilst I was taking it's picture.

3.) The footsteps in the photo

4.) The stereotypical assumption that we are looking at an "alien", how do we know what aliens look like?

5.) Common sense

6.) Common sense

7.) Common.....

I dont have any evidence as you dont! I also never said if I believe it is real or not. I stated early on in this thread that it looked realistic - not real.

1. It was submitted before April 1st but posted on April 1st.

2. Sometimes when you take pictures the subject/s can be unaware and may not look directly at the camera - its not as if the guy who took it shouted 'oy mate over here, say cheese. He stated he did not see anything at the time the photo was taken. You are assuming here on this point because as humans we do not know how aliens behave or why

3. The footsteps could have easily been made by the Landscaper or the person who owns the garden - that is the reason the photo was taken remember because they guy is a landscaper and he more than likely walked all over the garden. Common sense!

4. It could be a sheep
It is alien because we do not know what it is - here look at the meaning of the word Alien definition

5. I am using common sense, where is your logic and reasoning? Like I said you already made your mind up and I thought you said you'd had enough a few pages back? So why are you still here saying its fake?

Because it is fake, believe me I've seen thousands of people like you and others in this thread, I could take a picture of a biscuit tin and unless you had "evidence" you would happily sit back and tell me it could possibly be an alien, the funny thing is when proof is finally offered you guys go suddenly quiet and go back into hiding.

Let me ask you a genuine question, if I took a picture of said biscuit tin, how would you know it was a biscuit tin?
How would you know it wasn't an alien?

Simple answer; common sense.

People like you who share your mindset honestly worry me and I find it difficult to understand that you can cross a road safely, sadly and pathetically worrying.

Geez, DeathKron....

Where is your evidence that it's real?

Just based on what I have learned around here: You are the one saying it is a fake. So the geas is upon you to prove that the physical object in this photograph is "fake'. Whatever it is. Good look with that. Fact is; you are the one saying it is not an 'alien'. All that does is make it look like someone around here is saying it is an alien. No one here has said flat out that they believe this 'thing' to be a 'real' alien. We just don't know what it is.

Photo was posted on April Fool's day

Dude, so what. A lot of things happened on April fool's Day. And this was not one of them. It was submitted to UFOcasebook on AFD.

If the object in the picture was actually some sort of living creature, surely it would realise it was being photographed. I took a picture of a Sheep at work the other day and guess what, even a bloody Sheep looked at me whilst I was taking it's picture.

This one is may favorite. Here, DeathKron, here is a very fitting picture for you...

This is a good example of a critter that is an apex predator. It does not care if you take its picture. As you can see, it may just repay you for your trouble by making a meal out of you. This critter is simultaneously not giving a f!$k about two photographers. So I am not saying our little fellow in the photo is an apex predator but maybe he is an apex ambulator. If something thinks it is invisible why would it give a crap if it is being photographed? Anyway your posts are starting to sound like you are the one that believes it is an alien. Personally, if it is real, I think it is one of the 'wee folk'.

The footsteps in the photo

You have been around this thread long enough to know better than to try the footprint thing. This has been gone over. It only adds to the inconclusiveness of the photo.

The stereotypical assumption that we are looking at an "alien", how do we know what aliens look like?

Wow. Are you getting sleepy or something? We don't but you seem to know what a real one looks like because you say that this one is a fake. Are you sure you don't know more about this than you are letting on?

Common sense

Not. Even. Gonna. Go. There.

Then please go start a thread entitled; 'Me and My Bisquit Tin'. I will be by to pollinate it with my own special brand of lunacy when you get it up and running.

And if you remember, DK. When the footprints looked like the killer I apologized to you. I did not run and hide. So cut it out. I am here on ATS to get a good pruning. You, my friend, need to sharpen your shears.
