I have to disagree with the 'if I were a Grey I'd be offended' bit. Paul's the only character in the film who is actually level-headed and sane. Hell, Paul's the only real character - everyone else is a caricature. I can see how Seth Rogen is not someone you might aspire to (although personally I'm a fan) but when you look at where this character sits amongst the landscape of other characters in the film, it's a pretty positive portrayal.

Not that I'm complaining, it was an excellent film. For any Americans here who might think Shaun of the Dead is where it all began, please check out a TV series called 'Spaced'. You won't regret it. It's where the Pegg, Frost, Wright trio really started.

For a Seth rogan movie, it was pretty 'meh', for a Simon Pegg movie it was pretty SNORE, for a pegg/frost movie, it was pathetic, and for a Pegg/Frost/Rogan movie, it was horrible.

There is no way this film will rank as one of the best films of all time imo.

It's just not special enough.

Funny...yes, but not laugh out loud funny, more a giggle here and there funny.

Hardly life changing stuff is it?

At least try to explain why? Not your taste? Terrible story?

I can't wait to see this, I don't understand why you think these greys wouldn't have a personality, and there very well might be greys that would be like him, what would you be expecting from a grey? Go to any country on this planet and whatever you may think about a man/women from there you will be wrong, and right, people are different and also others very similar on earth why would it be any different for those dudes?

These guys are so clever, grabbing a topic everyone is to some level interested in and making it funny at the same time!

get over yourselves, its a movie and its funny, it will probably go down in history as the best alien movie ever, because more people will watch it.

It hasn't got the sci fi label, so it won't scare all those footballers away, who don't want to be seen watching a nerds movie.

Nothing beats Star Wars plain and simple. And i'm sure this movie isn't better then ID4. or Predator. Hell Alien vs Predator is even awesome.

I'd have to rank "District 9" as my favorite alien film. I'd also like to mention Spielberg's "Taken" mini-series although that's not a movie. I find that those two have had the most interesting depictions of aliens.

But Star Wars doesn't have any aliens (or more appropriately non-human looking aliens) as a main character. Humans are boring

You missed my point, they are all sci fi movies. This is not labelled that way, it's a comedy.

I doubt it will be as popular as Avatar.

Avatar sucked and was unoriginal.
Sorry I never understood why that movie was so popular...Hype?

That story line had been done a million times. Paul isn't like any alien movie I have seen and I love alien movies and will watch any that come out. It's a comedy and it made me laugh a lot. I loved all the references they made in it, made me enjoy it more.

Incidently, ever notice that all the stuff he writes involves conspiracies of one sort or another?

I'm sorry...you will have to point out the conspiracy in "Run fat boy run" and "how to lose friends and alienate people,"

Coming a full five years before Roswell Los Angeles was in the news over a mysterious air battle, despite the fact that Pearl Harbour had been attacked just three months earlier. It was February 1942 when unidentified flying objects were sighted flying over L.A. Believing them to be Japanese aircraft the U.S. army fired an incredible 1,400 anti-aircraft shells into the sky. Six civilians lost their lives; three from “friendly” fire and three from heart attacks. It was never explained what the mysterious flying objects were but the U.S. army put the incident down to ‘war nerves’.

The Brazilian island of Colares had an outbreak of UFO sightings in 1977. During these sightings those the witnesses, much like the Cash-Landrum incident, suffered injuries that included burn marks and puncture wounds. These were caused by intense beams of radiation. At the time Dr Wellaide Carvalho treated thirty-five patients whom she diagnosed with radiation poisoning. The victims suffered fatigue, dizziness, headaches, low blood pressure, and anemia, as well as permanent hair loss in the areas where the skin had been burnt.
