Earth's Destruction Postponed Again?

MARDUK, Nibiru (NFP) -- Officials of the Earth Devastation Committee (EDC) refused to comment today on rumors that the destruction of Planet Earth has once again been postponed.

Originally scheduled for May 27, 2003, but since subject to repeated delays and rescheduling, the event, heralded as a "legendary catastrophe all Nibiruans will be proud of" has suffered an embarrassing series of setbacks due to funding problems, labor disputes, technical difficulties and regulatory hurdles.

The latest rumors centered on alleged creative differences over the soundtrack for the event, with music director Anak-e-Khatan reportedly furious that the central theme is still not "epic enough".

Although His Reverence Hamun-i-Nazr, High Epopt of the EDC, declined to address "baseless rumors" in today's press conference, he went on to insist that the EDC remained committed to delivering the "best disaster yet, on time, and with the uncompromising quality Nibiru is famous for".
