Only 14, Bangladeshi girl charged with adultery was lashed to death

Hena was raped by her cousin who was 3 times her age, the village elders blamed her and the fatwa was sentence to 101 lashes in public.

Hena slumped to the floor after 70, and died of her injuries in hospital a week later. Before she died she told her mother she was innocent.

In an attempt to cover up what had happened, the post-mortem said she committed suicide:

Her fellow villagers in Bangladesh's Shariatpur district had already passed harsh judgment on her. Guilty, they said, of having an affair with a married man. The imam from the local mosque ordered the fatwa, or religious ruling, and the punishment: 101 lashes delivered swiftly, deliberately in public.

Hena dropped after 70.

Bloodied and bruised, she was taken to hospital, where she died a week later.

Amazingly, an initial autopsy report cited no injuries and deemed her death a suicide. Hena's family insisted her body be exhumed. They wanted the world to know what really happened to their daughter.

It's difficult to understand how anyone can punish a child to death - how do they live with themselves?

I think this case is a little old......

If I recall, 3 of those involved were rounded up and arrested

not sure of the outcome

She should of ran away or did anything but just take that, thats terrible stuff man.

I have no issues when supposedly mature adults choose to wage war and kill each-other over crap but when Innocent Children are the victims esp where her much older pervert cousin couldn't keep his wick dry is a travesty.....


I hope he has a good memory.
Hopefully his actions will haunt him for the rest of his life.

It's sickening what crimes can be perpetrated in the name of God, by human beings. Hey, if God is on your side, you can do no wrong, right?

Most likely, this won't ever bother him, he'll probably forget.
