Well the OP's data is correct, a quick search of solar reporting sites verifies that. Also, there was a geomagnetic solar impulse on march 10th

Space Weather Message Code: WARSUD
Serial Number: 76
Issue Time: 2011 Mar 10 0623 UTC

WARNING: Geomagnetic Sudden Impulse expected
Valid From: 2011 Mar 10 0645 UTC
Valid To: 2011 Mar 10 0745 UTC
IP Shock Passage Observed: 2011 Mar 10 0610 UTC

So if this is true the Japan quake was 23 hours almost to the minute after this warning. If true that would then mean a quake would hit around 14:45 UTC March 30 2011, somewhere in the world. Just have to wait and see.

I've come across a SITE that has made a pretty solid connection between the Earth's magnetic field and the larger EQs we've been experiencing over the past decade. Check this out.

The Earth's magnetic field on a normal day:

The day of the Haiti Quake:

Sumatra/Indonesia:

Chile:

Samoa:

Japan:

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/581343c09915.jpg[/atsimg]

Looks to me like on the days a strong EQ hits, the Earth's magnetic field is wrapped tighter than a golf ball, and the larger the EQ, the tighter the magnetic field is wrapped.

Given the Youtube lady's prediction of a large West Coast EQ on the 31st, the more scientific predictions made by Jim Berkland, and this new solar event, I'm going to keep my eyes glued to the REAL-TIME MAGNETOSPHERE SIMULATION.

*NOTE: The link to the RTMS says it is temporarily down due to power outages (it's based in Japan.) I remember reading a post from someone this morning that said it was back up; perhaps that person has a different link they would like to share.

In the meantime, I'm going to start praying for the people on the West Coast tonight. I have a terrible feeling that something awful is going to happen; there are just too many signs pointing to it for it to be a big coincidence. And right after that, I'm going to bed.

Night all.

ETA:

OH CRAP!!!

I THOUGHT THE SIMULATION WAS DOWN, BUT IT'S NOT!!! LOOK AT THE DATE ON THE LAST PICTURE FROM JAPAN - THAT'S TODAY!!!

I mistook it for the last image that was on the website which was from 3/11/2011 - the day of the 9.1 in Japan because it looks just like it. Oh please God, let me look like a fool instead of allowing an EQ in Cali.

just wanted to chime in and say the weather in sf bay area for the last two days has been impeccable...

to think someone can predict an earthquake is...laughable?

Can you find Myanmars corresponding field?
How about the multi quakes in Japan since the big one? They have been 6 and above mostly
One day there were six successive 6,0 quakes...surely the field shots would insdicate that activity also?
I admit i am too computer illiterate to correlate the data....but this has some promise....
Also the big one back on boxing day with the giant tsunami that was so destructive...maybe it will also show a wierd field shot for the day....just babbling but...hey

Don't want to cause alarm since I don't really understand the magnetic graph thing but according to your post, Japan's day of the quake, the magnetic field was exactly like this:

And that has a timestamp on it of 11/03/30

Looking at all the other ones you've listed it seems they date the YEAR first, hence, that graph is 2011, March 30.
Again, I could be mis-interpreting it but now I'm worried.

Plus I remember someone posting that graph, prior to the quake if I remember correctly, so yeah...

Hopefully I can be proven wrong on that.

I edited my post to reflect that. I thought the Real Time Simulation was down, but just as I was checking my post for errors, I noticed the date too. Today's magnetosphere looks JUST LIKE the image that was generated on the 11th.

Good lord! a K4 solar flare!

Run for the hills!

Here's the graph showing the x-ray flux, the 'sudden' impact appears to not even get into class C.

(Note this image updates every 5 minutes)

Now see up the top, where the it says X, we've had two of them this year so far and we're still here aren't we?

PS. I agree with Blaine

Oh damnit

I was really hoping I was just being an idiot and wasn't understanding it.

Now I'm really concerned.

I just noticed Nict was back up too (from your post) - the last image I saw was from March 14.

...FYI - there was just a 6 - 6.3M near Fukushima at 5:29 UTC - the latest Nict image shows the magnetic field relaxing although the North/South orientation is still 'backward.'

It's happened before with no sign of a major quake.

Just posted up a couple of previous vids here:

Well I've given myself enough fodder for nightmares tonight. I just pray I don't wake up in the morning to images of Los Angeles sliding into the ocean on the TV.

Peace out.

OK, first off, you're right but you're wrong. All they are saying is there is geomagnetic activity. On the day of the Japanese quake, there was a solar storm occuring that was very strong. We're talking 5-6 Kp. There was a small spike just now of 4Kp which happens almost weekly. Usually the Kp index is anywhere from 0-4 on a daily basis. You need a 5-7 to see the aurora lights in the Chicago area roughly.

You can monitor the Kp index at www.spaceweather.com... They also have a twitter page where it will send you a message when a solar storm is going on. Then you can setup text alerts when you receive messages from them.

Can't wait to come in here and laugh in a few days when there is no big CA EQ. I get a good laugh at every one of these doom&gloom and prediction threads that are rampant now days. It's as bad as those channelers claiming that aliens are coming. Hell why wait. I might as well laugh now, hahaha.. ahaha. hahaha!!

This is not a prediction thread if you haven't noticed. Nobody is predicting everything YET, were merely correlating the magneto/solar activity of present day to those of previous major EQ's. If there was nothing to worry about, im sure the OP would not have wasted their time posting it, nor would it be receiving the attention its getting.
