I haven't looked too deeply into this personally, but from the bit I've seen, this stems from speeches he made in arabic/farsi/whatever that had...shoddy...translations by western sources, and that he said the zionist government will eventually disappear from the pages of history.

Now...what about the things Israel has said from time to time? Shimon Peres and others have more than once threatened Iran, and which of these nations has done more harm in their respective regions, just so we're clear? I've been aware of what's more or less ongoing apartheid against the 'palestinians' in Gaza and the west bank for some time now - yes, the palestinians react to a military occupation (as I hope we ourselves would!) - but am short on many civil rights abuses carried out by Iran. This could just be ignorance on my part, granted.

i'm also confused as to why the title says "the West" yet the article (as 'factual' as it is) only makes mention of Israel, and how the time for war with Israel is near.

There isn't anyone who needs to worry about this. DO NOT WORRY, if something happens the United States will get involved somehow!! We will take care of everything, rebuilding cities, house the homeless, take care of all effected by radiation, and so on. Isn't it too bad that this only happens in other countries??

I think one would not need a nuclear weapon. Just simply completely level the Dome of the Rock and the remains of king Solomon's temple. Prevent the Jews from rebuilding King Solomons temple, instead put something so offensive there that the Jews and the Muslims would have no choice but to team up together to attack their mutual enemy.

I am thinking that we should put a McDonalds there. It is offensive to both Jews and Muslims. Jews do not eat dairy and beef combined (Cheese Burgers) and Muslims do not eat pork (Bacon Cheeseburgers). Also make sure that it is not kosher food. Also make sure that you are not allowed to wear a head scarf or a little circle hat thingy inside the official McDonalds of Solomons Rock.

I got the links from the Drudge Report and I am not a Practicing Christian. I don't normally read from that site. Two things however that I have NO doubt in my mind. Iran is seeking nuclear weapons. If they were simply looking for electricity solar power in that part of the world is the most efficient and cheapest method available. That and they have all the coal and oil they could possibly ever need. The other is they are the only country in the world now that the world understands fall out all the other baggage that type of weapon delivers. They are the only country that would use that weapon as a first strike weapon. I don't think even North Korea would they're not suicidal. You see they think in their religious beliefs for their Messiah to come they have to destroy Israel. Russia is probably enriching their plutonium for them for an extremely large fee. They can't just sell them their own. Because after the fact it would be know exactly where it was mined from. Is the spy credible? now that's the question. Is anyone that works in Intelligence? Both stories however are in the BBC.

I had no idea that Iran has a large population of Jews. That is really interesting so it's the same old story they want the holy of holiest as they say. Well if that's really the case it would do no good to nuke it. I thought they wanted to kill all the Jews that's what they make it sound like. I would think they would be more interested in that rock in mecca.

An interesting article I read on the BBC was that the Egyptian airlines removed Israel from their map. Their map showed Jordan all the way to the ocean. Yet they fly there four times a day. Not a good sign coming out of Egypt.

Your understanding of the original quote is simply incorrect. It has been beat to death on ATS.

JosephC38's utube channel has uploaded ten vids all of which do nothing but knock Moslems, frequently quoting Israel government officials.

I, like you, assumed the quote from The Times was an accurate translation. I soon found, through the assistance of ATS member, that my understanding was flawed.
Rather then defend my ego I simply followed up on the sources offered and came to the conclusion that I didn't know what I was talking about.

Having an open mind is at times quite difficult. < Just my experience.

The video was made roughly a year and a half ago , two tops . It was taken on one of Ahmadinejad trips when he was in NY to address the UN .

He made a stop to see this Jewish group to receive the award .

Worth pointing out , a Zionist is different then a Jew , or so the story goes . The ones giving the award are Jews and not Zionists .

I couldn't agree with you more. They are definatley strong enough to handle their own problems. We have enough of our own. I also could never understand why we send millions of dollars to all these countries in the middle east that hate us.
