I appreciate you trying to be objective but the truth is there are so many aspects to the enigma that is the rebirth of Israel that just ends inviting people to post and over rely on dogma with canned arguments that do nothing to achieve peace, but simply try to justify the lack of it, while alternately avoiding or assigning blame.

Biblically the Jews can only return to Israel if and when their Messiah appears to lead them there. Most of the Jews of the World know this and believe this and that's why most of the Jews of the World don't live in it, and have no desire to.

Most of what we hear and are told is simply designed to deflect away from that really crucial underlying portion of a religious people, with an identidy bound up in their religion, looking to basically avoid a public understanding of a very deceptive situation that is in fact per their religion an affront to and a rebellion against their own god and notions of it.

This is the real problem the entire planet faces, people hiding behind religion for the sake of politics yet not living up to their own religion in anyway shape or form that displays they themselves take it seriously.

Personally if I believed in a God and that God said do not do something, or you will pay a horrible price, well I would be tempted to listen to them.

So why are Israelis violating their own scripture and basically lying about it and denying it to the world, while down playing the importance of their religion when it comes to them having to follow it, but upplaying it when it comes to being granted exceptional protections and rights and as a pretext for theft and war.

The long and short of it is everyone involved is either full of lies or has been so lied to they don't have an intelligent thought or answer as to what's really going on over there.

Meanwhile they clearly want to suck everyone into the controversy and lie through their teeth with stories and excuses that would insult the intelligence of any independent critical thinking person and in that process insist we all pay financially for it, and allow them to break any international law and treaty they want in the process and to pat them on the back to boot.

Isreal is a problem, things that do nothing but lie always are.

I will answer this because this is the heart of the problem right here.

The belief that people will and should stop asking intelligent questions and drawing intelligent conclusions because of some dispersion cast on their charachter for doing just that.

The Holocaust is a Greek Word that means Burnt Offering and Sacrifice and that means it's a word selected by Jewish Organizations to denote a religious occurance.

A religious occurance of sacrifice with a numerical signifigance designed to encourage some Jews to abandon their God's own alleged edicts and scriptures and to return to Israel before their annointed Messiah leads them to Israel.

I get so sick of its a religion but no one really takes it seriously crap, but we shouldn't be picked on for being religious nonsense.

God cast the Jews allegedly out of Israel to punish them, wow and they end up punished in the process? That's a real catch 22 to complain about, You want the whole world to believe in this god, you want the whole world to pretend it's real, and then you want to cry when the very thing you claimed would happen, as a punishment by God is something the rest of us should be held account to and atone for?

So a bunch of propaganda is made up with a bunch of religiously significant numbers to convince superstitious Jews that God has been appeased through a burnt offering, a holocaust of numerical signifigance that brings the 'people of Israel' back in trust with the god punishing them that kicked them out of Israel to be punished in the first place and told them they could never go back until he shows up.

Well I don't see him and personally I can't abide people who can't stick with a story consistently.

The jews used to live in israel/palestine up till the time they got kicked out of that area by the romans. I don't believe they are waiting for a new mesiah to help them conquer what they already had and lost. They simply did not accept our savior jesus christ as a messiah!

This can be said of many religions and I will assume you are not reffering to jews only. The biggest reason I despise mainstream religion is because it *divides and conquers* various people who otherwise have nothing to separate.

The second reason is that many disputable texts have been banned by the romans as heretic and/or otherwise too controversial for us laymen to understand so our fore-fathers thought it "wise" to keep it "pure" as they thought necessary.

If things do heat up, the blame can be placed squarely on Hamas' shoulders.

Im almost of the opinion Israel should allow the Palestinians to declare sovereignty and a Palestinian state. That way, each and every rocket fired across the border will look to the world as exactly what it is, an act of war.

It is dangerous to pass laws like this without very STRICT definitions of the words

1) Spying
2) Treason
3) Helping the enemy during times of war

What does spying include? Would carrying a camcorder around with you and filming everyday activities like check points, soldiers (since they have to be everywhere in Israel for security) be considered "spying" ?

Is "helping the enemy during times of war" left open to interpretation for whoever is the judge of such matters? It seems like a hole a mile wide where nearly anything could be considered "helping the enemy". Who is the enemy? What is the definition of an enemy of Israel?

As long as broad general definitions are left to be easily open to interpretation to fit any situation I see this as nothing but another way to prevent the Palestinians from ever having a chance to be a part of Israel (although I HIGHLY doubt that the Palestinians want anything other than the complete destruction of Israel. Peace is not a word that Palestine understands. Or whatever is left of Palestine anyways.)

Why doesn't Israel just buy all of the remaining land that the Palestinians have? Offer them a huge amount of money and just buy it all from them. Can't get mad when they acquire it legally.

Note this last comment was written by a Palestinian refugee, someone who would know best. If you peruse the article a little deeper, you will see the humanitarian disaster is in part caused by neighbouring Arab countries refusal to absorb their Palestinian brothers and sisters.

The countries who do, with the exception of Syria and Jordan to some extent, treat the Palestinians as second class citizens as best. Yes, Syria and Jordan often treat their OWN citizens in a very brutal manner, hence the popular uprising we are seeing there currently. The hypocracy of these nations calling out Israel is astounding.
