A British family has called in ghost hunters after being driven out of their "horror house" by what they fear is a poltergeist.
The family claim a catalogue of bizarre events the read like a collection of scenes from every scary movie - but they insist they all happened and they have the video to prove it.
Lisa Manning say she and her children Ellie, 11, and Jaydon, six, and her partner Anthony have fled their several times, according to a report in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper.
They include pots and pans being thrown around the kitchen, window blinds moving up and down by themselves, lights being switched on and off and drawers being opened.
Last week they were even forced to climb out of a window after being trapped in their living room when the door locked by itself, the paper reported.
Miss Manning, 34, installed hidden cameras in a bid to capture the ghostly events.
The 52-second clip shows a wardrobe door opening before a pink swivel chair moves slowly backwards towards the wall, the paper said.

All poltergeist manifestations always involve preteens.

That's interesting.
A friend of mine told me of people he knew that had a very violent poltergeist problem, and it involved their preteen daughter.

Not necessarily true. I had this kind of activity in my bedroom when I was 18 years old. Not pre-teen. I saw things move around exactly like the video shows. This was back in 1976. Also heavy footsteps walking around and around with no one visible.
Many other things too, like someone sitting on the bed, pictures flying off the wall etc...edit on 3/29/2011 by wtbengineer because: (no reason given)
