Kdog1982 howdy neighbor. I moved from the "Ville" two years ago.
Your priority list is exactly what we did in Okolona during the ice storm a few years ago in Feb, and the months before when Hurricane Issac was still a category 1 in Louisville, THEN became a tropical depression after passing Jefferson and Shelby counties. Hurricane in KY?!!! It was. Insurance paid out for our roof and property damage on that very information. We were without power for only a few days, but others in the city were out for A LOT longer. That was my first real taste of "was I prepared?" scenario. We watch each others houses during the ice storm, power lines being pulled down, one roof sparked. We had a triangulation of cell phones in the culdesac, and a gentleman 3 houses down on oxygen. Pooled our skills and equipment, worked our way out to main roads.
What I learned was being informed, being prepared, and staying collected.
Peace brother.
