i have always understood that the land is disputed land that israel won in earlier skirmishes. in the us back when we were taking over North america we told bordering countries to let us buy the land we wanted or we would take it.

If Israel refuses to be proportionate in its response to individuals threatening thier saftey, rather than flat out murdering tens of thousands every
time they act, and if Palestinian terrorists and militants cannot be forced by wieght of public opinion to behave, then NATO or the UN should enter
the region, and physicaly remove both militants and IDF elements from the borders and police the borders themselves. Responsibility for security of
both lands should fall to the international community, and all political discussion in the region should be halted. All parties responsible for any
terror, on either the Israeli or Palestinian people should be rounded up and gutted, and finaly, when justice has been done without collateral damage
in either region, power can be handed back , with the caveat that ANY infringement of peace on EITHER side, will result in an immediate return of UN
occupational forces.
