Hi everyone, I am the original filmer of this video. Sorry for the total freak out during it, I was certain at the time it free to ....snip.....in their bathroom, but were commenting on facebook about it while it was happening, Saying oh my lord Tornado. But the news said No Tornado and Non expected. Anyway, Let me know if anyone comes up with something plausible. Thanks From Tallahassee
The Wakulla Volcano was the name given to a prominent column of smoke, sometimes accompanied by bright light, seen coming from deep in the swamps of Wakulla County, Florida, from at least the Spanish occupation of Florida through 1886. The scientific assumption today is that the smoke came from a peat fire.[1]
The first accounts of the smoke come from Seminoles living nearby, and by the 1830s, white settlers attributed the sight to campfires from white or Indian settlements, pirates, renegades, or a volcano. Over the years a number of folkloric explanations were given, along with plausibly naturalistic ones such as deep-burning peat fires. Several teams of investigators set out to solve the mystery during the late 19th century; The Smithsonian Institution holds correspondence from A. W. Barber between 1890–1894 concerning his experience there. Sightings occurred as far away as 20 miles, and were reported throughout much of the 19th century, but the phenomenon may have been visible much earlier; it has even been suggested that Wakulla, which may mean "mist" or "misting", received its name from the strange smoke. A number of explanations have been given, most famously that an active volcano stood out in the swamplands, but no one was able to locate the smoke's source before it disappeared forever on August 31, 1886, the day of the Charleston earthquake. Although a number of people have claimed to have found the crater of origin, modern geologists are quite certain no volcano could exist in Florida.

Hi everyone, I am the original filmer of this video. Sorry for the total freak out during it, I was certain at the time it was a tornado which is why My kids ended up in the bathtub with a mattress over them, and for those who are asking why I didn't go out and investigate, Again, I thought it might be a tornado, I have 4 small children, and I am responsible for them and their safety, I am not going to gal-avant around looking for God knows what, Plus it was freaking scary at the moment. Location: Tallahassee Florida. Yes I do live 4 miles south of the airport. Lived here for 20 years and never heard anything like it. I will mention a few things for everyone to keep in mind. 1). This sound was reported to be heard and felt extremely far south of me as well, I think the woodville and crawfordville areas which is about 15 to 20 miles away. Which would put those people 25 miles or more from the airport. 2). There were many calls that went to 911. 3). it made the news with the explanation of "Ducting" Thunder. 4). I called the Airport and talked to a director there, They said there were no planes being tested, only a fedex plane took off. They also asked me to send them a copy of the Video!.. 5). I dont know weather this is related or not, But the weather on the 8th (the night before) reported "Military Chaff" during the news. I have to admit, I knew nothing of Haarp, Chemtrails, or anything, My uncle told me to do a google search on that a day or so after the event. Honestly, I wish it were a plane. Tallahassee is a very small town, we have a tiny airport, and there are no other facilities of that type anywhere around here, We live in the forest pretty much, I have recently (Since I posted the video to get some answers) been called redneck, hillbilly and everything else you can think of, which doesn't bother me at all, Maybe I am, But nevertheless, I am not satisfied with the answers we got from the "Weather man" here. and the airport confirmed no planes doing that. If you have any specific questions, feel free to let me know, I will try to recall as much as I can. I do know that some of my friends about 20 miles away all locked themselves in their bathroom, but were commenting on facebook about it while it was happening, Saying oh my lord Tornado. But the news said No Tornado and Non expected. Anyway, Let me know if anyone comes up with something plausible. Thanks From Tallahassee

Hello. Please READ this as I made an account on this site just to post on my first hand account of this event.
I found this site by doing a google search of "Loud Noise in Clearwater Florida" because at 4 am march 20th I was awoke by this EXACT noise in Clearwater, Florida. Clearwater is just west of Tampa, Florida and only around 20 miles from Macdill Air Force Base. Me and my girl friend were both witness to this extremely loud noise. However, it was not a constant 20 minutes as claimed by the OP in my experience. The noise first came across the sky and it definetely had the distinction of "moving" through the sky similiar to a fighter. I assumed it was just Macdill Jet traffic, however it is extremely un-usual to have noises like this. I have lived in the bay area for 25 years and have never heard any noises like this. In fact Macdill goes largely un-noticed in the bay area. Even in St pete where it is only a few miles from the run ways departure and arrival paths.
The noise lasted for about 2 minutes or so each time. and probably appeared around 5 or so times in a time period of about an hour.
I would have just shrugged it off as no big deal, but what was VERY strange was how the noise dissipated. The loud rumbling did not fade away as would a jet fighter moving through the sky, but rather at its peak loud point simply STOPPED. I mean like someone turning off a TV stop. It was really strange. I thought maybe some kind of stealth aircraft or something? I have never heard a plane moving through the sky simply become dead quiet in a matter of seconds. It was very strange. I even walked outside my home and looked up to the sky trying to see something. It was a dark night though and I could'nt see anything unusual in the sky other then the extremely loud rumbling noise.
I hope to learn what this was because it was really strange. My first thinking was something militarily tied to the Lybian offensive, but what enabled these noises to simply stop in mid rumble? So strangeedit on 21-3-2011 by Gallahan because: (no reason given)

That is a scary thought! (earthquake).. I have been here in the same spot for 20 years.. Never ever heard anything like this before.. I just can't even stress enough the fact that we hear Jets and carriers and commercial airplanes, private airplanes, Just about all types on a daily basis, and we attend alot of events at the airport as well.. I have actually been about 30 feet from the fedex jet when it fires up.. it doesn't sound like that at all.. But If it were a Plane of some kind, There would have still had to be some crazy phenomena in the atmosphere to cause that kind of sound resonance from it..
