One cannot be an athiest and a Freemason. I would not know why an athiest would want to be a Freemason in the frst place. I hope that answers your question. There cannot be any deliberation on that issue!

Greetings all. I hope it isn't too late to post on this thread. New to ATS, but old to the fraternaty (raised 1977). I enjoy reading the discussions, both the mis information and the replies.

Welcome MasonicStudent,

I've been a Mason since 1989 so I'm getting to be one of the "old guys"

You'll find a lot of interesting things on this site regarding Masonry. And you're right about the misinformation, but it doesn't take long to figure out who the crack-pots are.

Welcome, Brother Student! This really is a great site. Frustrating to us masons, because we constantly have to put up with these absurd claims. But when you really look at it, there is a WEALTH of REAL masonic information that has been collected in these threads over the years .

Ah-ha - didn't know this thread existed so thanks MasonicStudent. Mason in England since 1993, through the Chair in 2003.

Realised I had 'made it' when a posting of mine appeared on FW. And do you know... he didn't ask me first. Shock horror.

I can't take the credit Trinityman, but like you, I was glad to find this thread.

All the credit should go to Infinite for his "Secret Socities Index Tread", that had to have been a real time killer. But the results are great.

But, does the ansester of a 33 degree count? I can't believe this thread. This is really something. I really never thought anyone on this board would admit to this. My grandmother (fathers side) was an "Eastern Star" lady. I am shocked! I'm outta hear!

Admit to what...being a Mason? I'm a 32nd Degree, KCCH and a member of the Eastern Star myself. (Yes, men CAN be members of the Eastern Star...in fact I'm a Past (former) Worthy Patron which is the chief male officer of the Eastern Star Chapter.

I'm proud of that....what can't YOU believe about this thread...haven't you ever read anything authentic about Masonry?

Do not think that you will revive a dead thread and turn it into a Free Mason get together.

I'll smoke you out and squash you in the light if you try and circumvent the clear and concise edict again.

Edited due to numerous moronic typos.
