After the warning he received this afternoon, Gaddafi really should have been warned:

News24 link

Personally I don't like to get involved with these issues, as I don't believe in politics at all, I am a firm believer that all politicians are corrupt in one way or another and they are all just puppets, just my opinion though. Still, I wanted to let you all know about this as I haven't seen it posted yet and I thought that you guys that follow this stuff, would want to know.

I do have one question though, why is it that with all the troubles that's been going on over there in the Middle East, and actually all over the African continent, why choose Libya to interfere in? Of all the countries they could have "helped", they chose Libya? Why, what makes Libya more special than all the other countries going through this kind of thing?

I thought I should add this linky here, as it gives more info:

News 24 linky

I found the second last paragraph particularly curious and don't know what to think of it:

Warplanes from the United States, Canada, Denmark arrived at Italian air bases on Saturday as part of an international military buildup. Germany backed the operation but isn't offering its own forces.

The US is not admitting to control.
They have stated that they are in a supporting role.

The U.S. military, which is already stretched thin by two wars and an expanding effort to assist disaster victims in Japan, would take a supporting role, Obama said, with European and Arab partners in the lead.

I think control is mostly European.

Anyone surprised that this is being carried out under UN control and the french are acting with force first and so far the US is lagging behind in a "supportive" roll?

Which means ... if you fly into a 'no fly' zone and you attack, it is a declaration of war, considering the amount of countries involved in the attack against, I don't think Gadhafi and his boys stand a chance.

Do I understand that correctly?

Indeed it is an 'Act Of war'..

The US are planning to attack the 'Defense Systems' later to aid the french air strike..

Normally I would agree with you but this one is justified, I support these rebels 100%. America broke away from their tyrant, now it's time for Libya to do the same. And just like America, they can't do it alone.

The closest thing that I can find on that is U.K. not U.S.

U.K. says it's time

My hubby said that this afternoon he just got a text message of eyewitness news that Obama also said it's time, but was not willing to commit. Wait ....

Found this for you on what Obama said:

"Our consensus was strong, and our resolve is clear. The people of Libya must be protected, and in the absence of an immediate end to the violence against civilians our coalition is prepared to act, and to act with urgency," President Barack Obama said in Brasilia, Brazil, on the first day of a three-country Latin American tour.

It's in the second link I put on the OP, fourth paragraph

That makes no sense! The US still elect tyrants! So why invade another nation and call it justified because you deem Libya's tyrant less tyrannical than that of your own?

Do you always believe what you hear over what you see? World government is being exercised before your very eyes by the elected leaders of sovereign nations obeying a resolution to commit an act of war put forth by an un-elected private body (the UN) over the wishes of the majority of the people of those sovereign nations.

What they said .QFT. The only difference between a Democracy and a Dictatorship is we get to select who's going to be our Dictator.
