The best thing that can happen to us is for Obama to not do his job which for those who don't know is to serve the companies Exxon, Berkshire Hathway, Wal-Mart, and a wide range of other companies and special interest groups.

The same goes for EVERY politicians...they're all bought by lobbyists, republican, democrat, tea party...doesn't matter. It's just that some make it more obvious than others. Palin for example makes it super obvious, Obama pretends otherwise but seems also bought, most of the GOP are obviously bought as can be seen by how they vote...check out who's always killing bills that would close tax loopholes or close possibilities for companies to ship jobs offshore...yup, the GOP. But the dems are just just as guilty as they just go along with it, mostly because they get paid by the very same corporations.

The entire system is broken...

Anyway, it's a bit off topic, I've made a thread about it here.

Leave it to Young Turks to dilute and obfuscate the message

This is the quote from Glenn Beck...and it includes the libs beloved Gaia whom they believe is very very mad at us humans...lol

""I'm not saying God is, you know, causing earthquakes. I'm not not saying that either. What God does is God's business. But I'll tell you this: Whether you call it Gaia or you call it Jesus, there's a message being sent. "

So first he's saying he isn't saying god did it...then he says he's also not not saying he did it...and he ends it all by saying it's definitely a message from god. What a schizophrenic lunatic

You missed the real point of course, that when it serves the left they say Gaia is mad at us for driving SUVs and eating meat, and when it doesn't serve their purpose they ridicule the Christian view.

At least he's not saying its getting cold because of global warming then changing the name to Climate Change because now everybody knows its cooling.

Oh comon', show me a quote where a someone said some deity is killing off people during 9/11, the tsunami in Asia, the catastrophe in Japan, starving people in Africa, and so on. And even if they did, it would be just as crazy as saying god did it. Hell, there's ZERO objective evidence deities even exist, bringing religion into this just goes to show how backwards some people are.

Unless Beck is using god as a synonym for plate tectonics he's talking garbage as usual

Back on topic though:

1) Is there anything Obama couldn't do in South America (a trip that's long been planned) that he could do back at the White House? NO!
2) Has Obama given a speech on the subject? YES!
3) Has Obama sent help to Japan? YES!
4) Are his experts monitoring the situation? YES!
5) Do we want the economy stimulated? YES!
6) Will the trip to South America stimulate trade between SA and the US? YES! (It happened when he went to India!)

In short, saying his leadership is somehow impaired because he doesn't sit tight in the White House is beyond ridiculous and makes people look like complete fools

Well it makes as much sense as saying Gaia is mad at humans for burning fossil fuels. Have you not heard of UN Agenda 21 and all that sustainability stuff? Have you not heard the quotes of Maurice Strong? James Lovelock? Oh, that reminds me, the Earth Charter Summit was held at Rio...I'll give you the benefit of the doubt you didn't know that.
www.earthcharterus.org...

"

The purpose behind Agenda 21 was described by Maurice Strong, who served as Secretary-general of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro said, “…[C]urrent lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class – involving high meat consumption and large amounts of frozen and convenience foods, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and workplace air-conditioning, and suburban housing are not sustainable. A shift is necessary which will require a vast strengthening of the multilateral system, including the United Nations.”

In other words, writes Joyce Morrison of Concerned Women for America in Missouri, this global plan “is for us to live on the level of third world nations. That means no box mixes or microwave meals, limited use of fuel of any kind, no air-conditioning and very little meat.”

Yeah, those evil evil people trying to protect our environment...let's burn it all, right?

Again, nothing on that site you linked says some deity or Gaia's taking revenge

Try harder

Fact is, we KNOW what caused that catastrophe...plate tectonics perfectly explain it. Beck claiming a deity did it is just plain nuts

You're going off topic once again by the way...you might wanna read up on the thread title...

Well, what is Obama's business in Rio? Is it to pump up Petrobas? I've researched UN Agenda 21 and James Lovelock's Gaia Hypothesis is very much involved. See the post on the Earth Charter held in RIO...It has everything to do with energy. Is this nuclear crisis not involving energy?

I;'ve been telling you that environmentalists believe that Gaia is angry at humans. Q'uelle difference?

And yet another reason why the empty suit, err.....Obama is only a one termer. 15 million people out of a job and losing their homes, and yet, he still suggests that those very same people need to tighten their belts and cut back, oh by the way, I'm gonna go on another vacation with your tax dollars....keep the money coming please....

Obama's acceptable action would be to stop trying to implement legislation against copyright infringement. Stop enforcing TSA and their ongoing molestation of the American People. Stop backing the bankers with back door deals. Stop out of control spending of the US tax dollars on frivolous programs, and buckle down and bring jobs back to the US.

Working for the people by the people really isn't to much to ask now is it?

It's pretty clear why Obama's going to South America. Brazil has a new president, it's only reasonable he reaches out to such an important nation. He went to India for the same reasons, and guess what, it resulted in substantial increase in trade for the US...something that's very much appreciated during this economic crisis

And we have complete fools on here claiming it's a vacation...oh how clueless those people are

And what's your backup evidence for that claim?

The stated goal is to foster trade between South America and the US, something the US could very much need right now given the current economic situation. Have you ever had a proper course in economics? I doubt it...

Yes, I have, and my economics teacher wanted me to change my degree from IT to Business with concentration in acct. I also said in class that we had a trade deficit with China. And that was before the election.

See my post where it says the focus of the SUMMIT involving Mobil and Exxon is on energy. Perhaps the Petrobas thing is only a side issue.

And once again you don't support your claims with evidence

Of course energy will be part of the discussion, but if you believe that's all it's about, you're blatantly wrong. The US trades more than just energy with South America

republicans are getting desperate to find new mud - maybe you can harp on Michelle push to get kids healthy as being socialist some more.

Sorry losers but the world has to keep keeping on and sitting in the white house because japan is in peril does nothing, he's sent billions of dollars in help more than any person on this forum will ever do.

Maybe you think the president should fly into the core of the reactor and punt it to the sun seeing as how he must be superman.

Oh listen to you! I just quoted an article coming out of Argentina on the energy thing, and you are twisting it all around, as you have been doing the last hour.

www.offnews.info...
Buenos Aires, Argentina - 16/03/2011

Frente Externo

16/03/2011 | The focus will be business when Obama arrives in Brasilia
Mimi Whitefield

"The invitation-only event will bring together 300 top executives from corporations such as Exxon Mobil, GE, Coca Cola, Bank of America and Comcast on the U.S side and Brazilian giants Odebrecht, Embraer, JBS and Vale.

One of the aims of the summit is to “reset the commercial agenda with a new Brazilian president and unleash the potential of the U.S.-Brazilian relationship over the next four years,’’ said Steven Bipes, executive director of the Brazil-U.S. Business Council, which is organizing the event and is an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The summit will explore business opportunities in the energy and infrastructure industries."

and then I suggested that his interests in Petrobas is only a side issue. You know he has committed the US to 2 billion in aid for that alone.

The summit will explore business opportunities in the energy and infrastructure industries.

And what's bad about that? It's similar to what he did in India...and the outcome was good for the US economy. It doesn't matter what industry it is as long as trade increases and it stimulates the economy. You somehow implying this is a bad thing is beyond laughable

Oh, and I'm sure energy and infrastructure isn't the only thing he'll talk about with the new Brazilian president

So many things you can criticize Obama for, and you focus on stuff that isn't even bad

And it's not just Japan falling apart.

It's funny how I was just telling my friend in a joking way, "I bet the Obama family goes on another trip" and bam, here they go. Amazing. How do they sleep? I know that I have barely slept since this whole thing began and so many people are feeling the same way. Very shaken. He's no leader. It's very sad.
