This thread assumes that heaven exists, if you believe different you are free to start a new thread, but do not derail this one.

Ok people of different religions who believe in heaven, paradise of a place of eternal rest.
What do you think this place is like, is it the same for everybody? do each person has his own piece on heaven?

Atheists are welcome to answer too, after all you can still imagine how would you want this place to be, even when you do not believe in it. But please this is not a place to discuss the veracity of afterlife.

A better question may be "What do you hope heaven is like?", might get more answers
Not trying to derail your thread

Heaven is the sky above your head and everything in it. New Jerusalem though... That's our mothership. At least, that's how I interpret it. We stay here until and live of the Earth and while our souls are tested. Upon death our bodies return to the earth and our souls return to Eden in Earths Chasm to await the return of Christ. At that point of course, as relayed in Revelations, the war with Satan over the Last Souls are waged and Satan is finally defeated. At that point, New Jerusalem descends from the heavens and we get to dwell with the Father together in peace. As the book of Enoch says, "we will no longer need to worry about flight" so He's got that covered already. I bet He'd let us check out the rest of his Creation. Honestly, that's pretty much how I interpret those parts. It seems a little far off from most interpretations but whatever, the Truth will all be revealed sooner than you'd think.
Peace!

Heaven is a place with beer, girls and thrash metal. So I'd say earth is pretty much heaven.

I believe we'll return to our loving God in heaven. We are spirits in earthly bodies longing for Truth and searching for our way home. I believe Truth will be revealed. All the dots will be connected, all the mysteries and conspiracies solved, all questions answered, memories restored. We will take all of our experiences, thoughts and emotions with us and will have an eternity to share them. We will be free. We will be home.

Heaven isnt a place its a feeling of enternal love... being part of something that completes you to your very being... sharing in wonderous things.... as one.. no not like the borg collective.. but something that is beyong our scope of imagination.

I belive that the allmighty being is soo perfect that he doesnt make mistakes nor hates his children... all people go back to be with him... no matter what you have done here....

When you are in that state of enternal bliss and completion, you are with the ones who went ahead of you... and the ones who went with you... time has no meaning nor does the physical body. you dont touch you experience it all. for me this is where I am going.. and I know my mom is waiting there for me with absolutel love. I miss her.

thanks for letting me share.

Given that I disagree with Sartre, who said 'hell is other people', I think Heaven contains our families and friends, indeed everyone who has ever lived (I am Christian universalist).
We have jobs to do (although I can't fathom what these might be!) and there is what i consider the most beautiful thing the universe has ever produced - music!

You make it sound revolting! A heaven for immature men... (One thing to note - females over 18 years old, and especially women who are sexually mature (old enough to have a 'time of the month' are women not girls. Girls are children. A man who fantasises about sex with girls is a stinking paedophile, a linguistic loser or both.) I don't care how many women between 18 and 25 with cotton wool for brains, call themselves 'girls' that doesn't mean they are - it just means they were brought up with daddies or media that like to pretend that feminism never happened because it frightened them that women wanted respect and not just penises...

Are we speaking of the first heaven, the second heaven, or the third heaven?
