The being in a class room and not managing a current disaster in progress...
When I saw that photo on the White house web-page I INSTANTLY thought of the Bush Goat photo...
The photo was taken yesterday... it is not a file photo.edit on (3/15/11) by AllSeeingI because: added info

The radiation readers, show that Denver is having quite a significant raise in radiation, its getting closer to the the dangerous zone.
Also, I was wondering why as they're not at the coast, then I realized, their altitude means they would be affected first.
From USS Ronald Reagan Commanding Officer:
by USS Ronald Reagan on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 6:52am
Friends and Family of USS Ronald Reagan:
I want to take this opportunity to personally assure you that first and foremost all personnel aboard the USS Ronald Reagan are safe and healthy.
During our mission to assist our close allies of Japan, we were operating near the radioactive plume from Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Plant. As you may have already heard, radioactivity was detected on 17 personnel from our ship, however, we promptly took the proper precautions and the radioactivity was easily removed by using soap and water. The levels that were detected were very low levels. To put this into perspective, the maximum radiation dose received was equalt to the amount of natural background radiation one would receive in one month from sources such as rocks, soil and the sun.
Ronald Reagan has since repositioned away from the Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Plant.
As a nuclear-powered aircraft carrrier, we have extensive technical expertise onboard to properly monitor such types of risks, and if necessary, rapidly resolve the situation.
We have taken all the necessary precautions to ensure that everyone is safe. We have closely monitored spaces, evaluated everyone who has flown or worked on the flight deck and cleaned the aircraft.
I have not seen any levels of radiation or contamination that would cause me to have any significant concerns at all.
As we continue to assist Japan in this terrible catastrophe, our Sailor's--and your loves ones'-- safety will remain at the top of my priority list.
Capt. Thom Burke
However, the firm concluded that it would be extremely difficult to spray water from a helicopter as the hole is dozens of meters from the storage pool and a helicopter can only carry a limited amount of water on a single flight. Workers are currently unable to approach the storage pool due to the high radiation levels. Tokyo Electric Company is studying the possibility of using fire engines and other options to inject water into the reactor.

No, thats not what it shows. It does not show Denver having a rising radioactivity, unless you are charting it constantly. Altitude does not mean Denver will be affected first, but altitude can mean Denver can be affected more by solar radiation than a place at sea level. On station near Denver was showing 68 cpm, another nearby was 23. They dont even have an "Alert" until 130.
Lets not try to cause undue alarmism when its not warranted.

No its true Denver has one of the highest constant background radiaition of all US Cities... I think it is a combination of altitude, and the mountains? Correct me if Im wrong.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano says the level of radiation around the quake-damaged Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant is high enough to affect human health. Edano told reporters on Tuesday morning that 400 millisieverts of radiation per hour had been detected around the plant's No.3 reactor building at 10:22 AM. He cited reports claiming that it is highly likely the containment vessel at the No.2 reactor building had been damaged. He added that the No.1, No.2 and No.3 reactors are all releasing hazardous radioactive material. The figure 400 millisieverts, or 400,000 microsieverts, is 4 times higher than the acceptable level of radiation for humans. Such levels could lead to a loss of white blood cells.
