antar, I am sorry to inform you but there is
no one source for updates. The updates
we are getting are coming from many
different sources. the best advice I can
give is read the links provided in this thread.

adding info to this thread is very similar
to interviewing a politician. Ask them a direct
question and you get the runaround with no
direct answer. Same goes for updates to
this thread.

Why so many questions that are being answered.

This is a massive engineering problem. What part of that is hard to understand. I feel you need to step back and learn to appreciate the people that are putting life and limb on the line to contain this situation. For someone trying to sound educated, I thought that this was a duh ...hello thing...This isn't as easy as spraying the container down and wiping up the mess. There is complex processes at work that need to be planned and precaution taken as to not risk the lives of the workers. If the workers die, then who cleans up the mess.

I am sorry to sound so critical but I feel that your questioning of Boondock is a little unclassy.

no offense to you, but the thread
has morphed a wee bit into a more
encompassing evidence thread.
If you had of read it before just
posting a rebuttal to the OP
you might would have realized that
already

I live in BC and theyve put up an emergency program and have set up 300 ICu beds in vancouver and victorian hospitals and weve been told to secure clean drinking water and stay indoors

I've found an interesting website.

www.radiationnetwork.com...

According to the information on this site, a couple of radiation monitoring stations upload their live data every 3 Minutes.

I guess that should give a pretty good insight upon any possible "fallout".

One point I would like to point out, is that the air itself can not become radioactive, it's only the particles in it. That goes - with some limitations - for water as well. And since the plume and the therein contained particles are nothing compared to a ground level nuclear explosion in the kiloton range, the fallout will, if at all, be very limited.

On the negative side though, one thing we learned from Chernobyl, is that a radioactive cloud can travel 7 times the world once it reaches the jetstream.

I take your point. I do know that the thread has morphed and people are trying to track down the truth of a developing story. There was an element of hysteria/hype to the original linked story though . . 300 ICU beds !!! . . . but fair enough, I'll get with the program.

My husband lived in the US pacific northwest during Chernobyl and although it was inconvenient and unpleasant, it wasn't deadly. They couldn't drink local milk or water for a bit and there were a couple days they were advised to stay indoors.

My biggest worry is that WE JUST DON'T KNOW! We have 18 pages of this thread and very little is updated information on just what everyone is really facing. Don't get me wrong, there's some great info, but we're all mostly speculating. Our government is not helpful in identifying a specific threat or solution and the Japanese government isn't one to admit they've got a technological nightmare on their hands unless they absolutely must.

And the days just keep ticking by. If we're looking at ten days or so until anything hits the West Coast....what's going to hit? No radiation? A little? We've got seven days or so to figure it out and its the not knowing what to do that's killing me.

What is your source for this? Do you have a web link or some news source for this "emergency program"?

Here's the deal... They allowed their own personnel to become contaminated, I am sure that they told them that it was well within safe limits before they sent them out to investigate the area.

Do you really want to trust that the information they are giving to millions of people in the states that will be affected by the radiation is true?

Good point. This is similar to the BP Oil spill in the Gulf. The Occupier in Chief and his minions do not care about people. Like all good Marxists, the ends justifies the means.

Guys, I would like to point everyone's attention towards the ESA website once more.

xmm.vilspa.esa.es...

This is the live data feed from the Newton Satellite, to be specific from the internal radiation sensor array.

What's especially interesting is the fact that we can see two dramatic changes in the two graphs.

The upper graph shows the increase of low and high intensity particle radiation, correlating with the decrease of the orbit at the same time, which is shown in the lower graph.

To me it looks like the ESA took their baby into a much lower orbit to sniff for Radiation above Japan.

Im in Everett Washington right now in front of the Navy base. Nothing to verify the lead about the radioactive cloud. Everyone is going about their day normally. Getting my pills hopefully in the next couple of hours. I would advise this to everyone in my area.

I found that also.
we should keep an eye on that to see if radiation is rising.
If things start to rise in the 100+ range then there is a problem.
good find.

In Portland and flying to San Francisco tomorrow (I would avoid this and rebook further eastward, but I cannot due to family obligations). I am not an alarmist. The enormity of this disaster cannot presently be assessed.

Later today I will be given a couple of the test strips worn by my X-ray medical technician friend at work. So far, no readings on their end.

As I have not been able to find a local vendor I have ordered the pills online. In the meantime, I have painted 8 ml of plain old iodine on my inner knee since yesterday (when Portland had a huge power outage for 6 hours - unrelated; the weather was bad and lines fell due to the winds). I stocked up on candles and supplies for my roommate while I am away. I will continue to administer the iodine this way until I receive the pills.

Once I am in the Bay, if credible reports emerge through any media source (that isn't a crock of you-know-what) that there is a 'nuclear cloud' approaching, we will evacuate 150 mi eastward to our mountain home, which thanks to my survivalist family members, is well-stocked with the necessary provisions and ready for shelter.

It is better to plan ahead when it comes to natural disasters (and no, I don't think this was HAARP or a concerted effort on TPTB; it's a natural disaster that had to happen at some point given plate tectonics). I think it is important that every person, family, or group, have a plan for survival that goes beyond the 72 hours recommended by the US. Diabetics and others for whom medication is essential should most definitely keep their meds on hand. Safe food, clean water supplies, and first aid, are essential for everyone.

I will report back with any readings as to the strips. I don't expect any.

My thoughts and love remain with the people of Japan.

herein lies the catch 22,
we are not getting the truth
from the MSM and sometimes
we have to do our own reporting
like analyze satellite data on
radiation spikes and piece together
the dots they won't tell us. Some
MSM reports are saying there is no
chance of radiation hitting the US, while
other experts in the field say that is def
a possibility. And Japanese Gov officials have
already been caught in a lie when they said
no radiation has been leaked and then the USS
Ronald Reagan broke the news they had indeed
been subjected to small amounts. So doing what
we do here at ATS is like code breaking during WW2.
We get a message and we have to decipher it
to make sure there isn't some use or truth of the info.
And we know for a fact that the Gov will not tell us
of a large danger to us after the fallout of 9/11.

I did not see info that the topical iodine should be used prophylacticly?

If you're still in Portland, you can get RAD stickers (or could yesterday) at Andy and Bax on Grand.

Good luck
