It's the OP that doesn't want this to get out. If he did he would continue slamming the media with this, until his voice and story was heard. He said it was a hassle to keep approaching the media. He's lazy. Perfectly legitimate characteristic and not a personal jab. Lazy. Bringing it to a forum that is know for us "disinfo agents" was the dumbest thing he could have done in my opinion. But guess what? He will continue to post anonymously instead of reaching out to the scientific community. It's his own fault for this cluster-fug.

Its very possible...

I won't discount that something like that could occur. In fact, that may be one of the only "real" attempts to get to the bottom of something that I have seen so far. At least you're looking and thinking. That's way more than I can say about others.

I get the impression a lot of the malevolence is fuelled by envy - tinfoil helmet specialists who can't stand that a 16 yr old whos more into cars than UFOs gets singled out by strange beings.
The disinfo agents just have to encourage the lynch mob a little and sit back.

Alex may well be lazy. He's probably more interested in getting a date and driving fast cars than tirelessly trying to convince the media to listen to him. Again, he appraoched local media and they ran the story, that's all he should need to do, it's not his fault it didn't get picked up by national news.
I mean where is he supposed to go with it? The cops is a ridiculous idea - obviously they'll just laugh at a kid with this kind of story.

If the kid truly hoaxed this, we'll never really know because no one did any investigative work. If he didn't hoax it, then once again, the truth has eluded ATS because people remained to close minded to find out for sure.

This snippet should have been at the top of your last post. What most of the members he don't realize is that even having an account on ATS, just by association alone, makes them look like a nutjob (yes that includes me). Ranting and raving no matter which quarter it comes from (whether skeptic or believer) only furthers that viewpoint because it shows the people here aren't capable of rational, methodological reasoning to illustrate how they arrived at their position. Remember a conservative skeptical stance does not impart the truth. It merely prevents people from accepting a lot of garbage that they might otherwise accept as fact. I never once mentioned fame and fortune. He's getting the fame he wants now by trying to be a youtube star.

I don't give a fig about this kid making money or getting his face out, I care about the legitimacy of his claims. He claims it's real, so he should treat it as such, which includes doing much, much more than what he's done, which is simply post a few youtube videos and make a forum identity.

First step is to create a paper-trail, get police reports for the attack, get himself checked up at the hospital (considering he believes it was an alien entity that attacked him, and who knows what it could have done to him) and keep all reports for that. Contact any and all UFOlogy centers and groups nearby, and any and all scientific minds to come take a look. The creatures keep returning, so it's very important to get a real investigation before they decide to STOP coming.

Wrong? Because his current use of all this evidence is doing absolutely nothing to further the goals of anyone who considers themselves interested in this phenomenon, and is instead only giving him some fleeting internet hits.

I call it selfish because, if he's not lying, he's sitting on potentially the biggest discovery of humanity, and he's doing absolutely nothing with it.

I call it a hoax for the above reasons. It's being treated like a game, whereas if it were a real occurrence, it would be almost impossible to treat it as such.

You know, I never tried to explain the ' alien' in the videos, it was all the other stuff that simply didnt add up and was so amateurish that the ' alien' was secondary to me. And thats my opinion and Im sticking to it!!

I miss the "good ol' days" of ATS where, if someone found such comments, instead of assuming it's relevant to the thread in order to promote an agenda, one would cleverly contact the commenter to see if the "business ideas" actually applied to the subject matter at hand as well, then return with solid email evidence of a hoax. Unfortunately, it's now an opportunity lost, and it seems that lazy speculation and ridicule are now par for the course.
