Westboro Baptist Church, the controversial group that just won a free speech Supreme Court case related to picketing soldiers' funerals, says it is planning to protest at the funeral for seven Perry County children who died in a fire Tuesday night.

Well, I was upset with this group for what it did to military heros and their families but this pushes it TOO FAR.

Children (a few months to 11 yrs old) die in a accidental fire and this sick bunch finds some solitude in traveling all the way here to cause pain and distress here!! I don't think so.

I recently joined a group that aides families and tries to shelter them from these butt heads. I hope any ATS member that feels the same can be with there at the site-if they come there.

Maybe eventually but you can't put your head in the sand everytime.

By the way, I live in this county. About 10 miles from the burned house. Oh yeah, I'll be there if they show.

Sad for them.... is that I am a tame one and can't do much other than stand in the way, observe and document (due to my job) however, there are a lot more people who will/can do something more and I am afraid they will.

Where the cerimonies will be held--- a long way back in that county. It would be hard for them to make a quick escape.... IF they want attention..... they get it....

maybe in time some operator with a terminal disease will have something to say about this condition.
Since WBC is strictly a front for a legal firm, and all adult members are lawyers, and that they dont accept outsiders into their little scam hiding behind a new testament theyve never read so they can promote a totally old testament religion and mindset. And as lawyers justifying the incomes of other lawyers and therefore being unopposed while they pilfer the moral and physical currency of a nation they wish to create chaos in by imposing a talmudic legal and philosophic system designed only for the annointed.

These church freaks only further solidify the need to "outlaw ' religion. Yes, I know that would be in direct violation of the 1st Amendment, but these jesus freaks aren't deserving of that Amendment anyhow. They like to point to any tragedy and call it God's Will, and point the finger at what they consider sinners. Maybe the father drank or smoked or had sex with more than one person, or maybe the kids weren't perfect. I am starting to think the Westboro folks have never even read the Bible.

I am a long way from PA, but I am definitely showing up next time they are anywhere near me. I can afford an assault charge or two, I don't think it would ruin my life, especially if they can be provoked into being violent first. I would love to "defend myself" in their midst!

What exactly is the validity of claiming to be a christian church when there is no apparnt christianity parcticed within it?
This is not that difficult. WBC is a business to make money off the public. It is intentionlly fraudulent on multiple levels. They are by govt license all considered officers of the court. How is it they're the only so-called christians that cut a wide swath anywhere they go, yet have no allies amonst the public or their claimed yet dispised co-religionists, except for non-christians that self identify as such? Wierd!!!.

There is no christianity evident in it, None,. It is a strictly prechristian old testament organization and method and intent, which is to make money from the gentiles.

They probably load up in a Church bus and sing hateful hymnals all the way to their next location! These guys are a 1/2 step away from the Salem witch trials or the old KKK. They need to be stopped by vigilante justice. I don't want to see the government limit free speech, but I would love to see some "natural consequences" for their actions!!

Maybe, but it just seems like an awful amount of money. I have a weird feeling that one day, maybe in 20 years or so, some documents will be released showing that they are CIA or something, lol.

Agreed......the religion as we know it isnt the same as it was back in the old era's. if there is a god, im sure his idea of a church, wasnt stained glass windows in a big cathedral or church bldg, with the women of gossip etc. i used to go to church..the bible states thou shall not gossip, or judge thy neighbor. go to a church and watch the women.....the are the biggest gossipers in known history!

You do, they sue municipalities foralleged lapses in providing their 'civil' and 'religious' rights while they maximize their own uncivility in the most outrageous behavior designed to provoke decent people.
This is their only income, this is their intended business. They are not a church they are a business hiding behind the advantages of a church.
lawyers helping lawyers is how they stay alive.
They are literally given a govt license to yell fire in a crowded theater, then sue the govt ( that means YOU) for getting knocked down in the rush out.The only people not in the scam are the general public

Word of advice if you really intended a road trip to prove a point. Stay home. please, all you'd do is enrich them individually and impoverish the municipality as a whole. You know you wont do anything anyway so now you have a LOGICAL and RATIONAL excuse. If you cant offer a permanent solution you aint helping anyone.
