Right above the top post in a thread on the left hand side is a blue button that says "flag it". All you have to do is click it.

I am extremely new, so this may be a potentially stupid question. Is there a symbol legend to tell me what the symbols beside each thread mean? I would most appreciate it. I really like this website, but I really hate how you have to mine just basic information that is relevant to newbies. For example, I couldn't find this information no matter how hard I searched. What's up?!

I wish somebody would answer my question. I find it kind of annoying how nobody responds to queries that people wonder about. It's a weekday... the evening... you have no excuse.

I have a different question that might not get answered... just because. How does a person know how much points a person has? Are the number of points you have different from your ATS score?

under the my ats sector, it says

what is the check mark box next to these options above, i click on the one on the replies option and it disappeared.

it appears questions do not receive answers around here.

BUMP! I'm curious to the answers of those questions above, having been away for some time, I'm finding it difficult to determine what all those symbols and numbers mean...Is this a carryover of the old points/applause system?

The check marks makes whatever section you select, the default section for My ATs.

So if you click the check mark on the flags page, automatically when you click that link it will first take you to that specific sectin of my ATS.

I'll list them for left to right.

The first one, the speech bubble, that's the total number of posts you have.

The one to the right of it, is the tota number of flags you have.

The star is the # of stars.

The trophy is what we call the WATS score. It's a ranking of all members, based on an equation that factors in, posts, stars and flags.

The last one is for Karma, it's kinda like the WATS score, takes into consideration a different equation. It's usually higher for people who don't create a lot of threads, but that post frequently.

And No, flagging a thread is very much something we encourage. If you think the thread is worth reading, then flag it. The more flag a thread gets, the more popular it is.
