I have seen it, i live in texas and i have seen M1's with forest dark green camo also, i think those are for north korea or something

Uncle Sam has this huge group of young and cheap labor who keep up maintenance and appearances of Uncle Sam's property daily, weekly, monthly. They clean almost every possible thing in site, and they do it every single day. It's to the point of anal-retentiveness at some military locations.
I was in the Army, and for a group punishment once, we had to paint rocks (after separating the little rocks from the big rocks..etc...) and then those rocks were put in the flower beds around the barracks.
Every physical piece of property gets attention...heck even rocks like above.

And as far as vehicles go:
It's called PMCS...the dreaded military acronym (Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services).
I was electronics repair technician. I worked on equipment that was housed on similar APC's for example. When our workloads were light, we'd be sent to the motor pool to help out with PMCS. Electronic repair techs weren't the only ones sent to the motor pool to assist either; almost every MOS (job classification) would send their lower ranks there.

Probably sending them to a port on the east coast; in other words, we've sold them to "somebody"...

Folks before you jump to a hasty conclusion let me first say outside of Sealey, Texas they manufacture trucks and carriers for the military and sometimes orders sit outside of the plant for months to a year before actual delivery. What I'm saying is scenes such in the video do occur when the military authorize delivery, it's not an indication of anything except movement of the vehicles from one location to another.

Having lived in North Texas my whole life, I can safely say that this is nothing out of the ordinary. When I was younger I played baseball and traveled all over Texas. I've seen many many railheads just like this one and there is nothing to worry about. It's actually quite an impressive sight to see. Especially when they are carrying Bradley's.

Now, if you see a convoy like this and it has Chinese Military Vehicles...........then I'd be worried!

While I don't know for sure, these are likely headed to Fort Polk, Louisiana. Fort Polk is home to the US Army's Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC). There is another one in California, the National Training Center (NTC). When I was in the Army our unit trained at NTC, which is the Army's desert warfare training site. We had to move an entire brigade's worth of equipment from Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to Ft. Erwin, California. It is quite a logistical task. JRTC, on the other hand is where the US Army trains tank crews and other mechanized units against an Opposing Force (OpFor) in a woodland setting. What people may be witnessing is a unit moving their equipment to Ft. Polk for training maneuvers. Like I said, however, it could be for any reason and any number of destinations.

Just curious as to why there is no caboose or back up engine at the rear. Don't trains with this kind of weight require it?

With all the revolts and protests going on around the world, the TPTB are going to make sure they have all the fire power they need in place juuust in case we get any stupid ideas. Ya know, like that pesky freedom of speech thingy.

The Caboose was replaced a long time ago with a little black box and a tail light.....
These vehicles o seem to have a lot of colours, so maybe they are from different units who have had replacements delivered?
I did not realise their age so maybe they arent headed for Libya after all....

SnF for the OP. I posted this after you did. I wasn't meaning to step on you're toes partner. I did the search engine thing but it rarely works out that I can find anything out that way. So I posted with a precursor for da mods.
Anyway here's my on topic.

So the govt. finally decided to to protect our borders? I guess they expect trouble now that the ATF has armed the drug runners and mules to the teeth. Just the normal SOP we should be used to by now. Arm the enemy first then go to war.

Yes. This is a very likely situation. With all of the budget cuts going on right now in the military it is highly likely we have sold some older equipment to other countries. Heck sometimes we just give the old stuff away just to get it off the books. The cost of maintaining and storing surplus gear is a MAJOR expense.

Those are mostly M113 APCs I see there. Those are old and outdated and I can safely say are probrably getting sold to others. The Army is in the process of phasing them out by 2018. Right now Bradley's and Strykers are the Carriers most widley used. I haven't seen an 113 in the field for a long time.

All the military equipment is accounted for. Be it for Salvage, Re-use, Cannibalization or just smelt it to manufacture future weapons. This happens over a period of time when the equipment is officially designated as such.

Noticed something odd today.Our local government building ,we have many but this one is located close to churchill downs,was loaded to the hilt with police cars.And also police pickup trucks with guys in green camo loaded in full gear,including big rifles all sitting in the back of them. And a special ops van racing with lights on to the same spot.
Now ,I drive by this place to and from work everday.There usually police cars there,lot might be full sometimes,but they were at least three or more times that today.I know there are some posters from here that probably live not to far from if they could confirm or deny it,please.
So I thought,well may there is some crazy guy barracaded in his house and they are going to get him.Or maybe it was some sort of training exercise.
I don't know.
I searched all the local media,and found no breaking news on anything,yet.
It was just really odd with fully geared ,looked like national guard,with green camo in the back of those trucks.
So,I don't know what was going on.Just throwing that out there.

the military ship everything this way. I remember loading our stuff for the trip from wainwright to polk. and it sucks cause some shady supply guys ripped our railcarts for #load of flak jackets and other items, which we all had to pay for.
