Perhaps you should leave America and go to a Middle East country that shares in your outdated and uninformed perspective.

Is interesting, that you bring this subject as it was the first thing my husband and I discussed after the "Don't ask don't tell" was repeal.

Yes the military is already a joke, perhaps no in the US but abroad. People of all genders serve in the military and gays and lesbian has been part of the military since I was a military wife until my husband retirement and was before and will be after, it was no need for repeal laws, gay couples has lived together outside the military base while serving and never was an issue.

But the issue for sure is how advocate groups will try to change the code of conduct that the military enforce for "everybody" serving.

The issue of gender modification problems, be mental or of the choice do not fit in the code of ethics and conduct of the military.

Theres a guy in California at military place X who started wearing dresses and make up to work. He expected to get fired and end up winning the jackpot with a big lawsuit.

He's now in his 60's and still wearing dresses and pumps. They didn't fire him.

Horse lovers or whatever must still wear the military uniform per regulation. If they get a sex change operation they can wear the female uniform. Nobody's been discriminated if they get the operation. Still got the male tool? Wear the male uniform...nobody wants to see Mr Happy flopping out of a female military dress skirt.

It's not really hard to comprehend.

The first Amendment says this: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I have freedom of religion and also freedom of speech. I love this country because I can freely express them. You also have the same right.

Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean they should move out of the country, that is ridiculous.

Do you honestly think men that like to dress as women haven't been in the armed forces for years?? Really?

You can have your First Amendment and eat it too. I was suggesting more that you will probably fit in better in one of those countries than the progressively evolving America.

Yes they have, but the code of conduct of the military have kept them from using their gender preferences while serving.

But I can no see how advocacy groups will bring this now to change how the military enforce that conduct within the military ranks.

well, like they say, anyone can wear a leather jacket and ride around on a motorcycle and act tough. It takes a real man to wear a dress and still walk proudly down the street (which is why you don't mess with the Scottish or Irish)

Who cares if they follow orders or don't misbehave?? If they are willing to serve their country, why not? Are you saying they aren't citizens?

They still have to pass all the same tests and requirements

Now that's comedy. Two of the same kind can't even recognize each other because their rants are so bizarre and incoherent. I assume this will confuse as well. LOL

the protesters in the sixties tried to convince the army to put daisies in their rifles. I don't think it caught on.

Not going to happen as the United States Department Of Defense has and adheres to a strict dress code which must be followed while on duty or the clock.

I used to clean a house for a man who was gay and a Bronze Star recipient, among many other medals he had been awarded, this guy fought in Korea,

But I am pretty sure he must have hidden his sexual identity,

I don't see this as that big of problem,

Agreed. This seems more divide and conquer propaganda.

Anything has to be done incrementaly including gays serving openly. You don't go from non-existent to "don't ask, don't tell" to let's all play Carmen Miranda in one fell swoop. Although a legion of cross-dressing Carmen Mirandas would put a scare in any opponent in my opinion.

More likely Obama will let them serve openly in the White House, harkening back to his days in the leather bar with the new Mayor of Chicago.

Obama and Emanuel: members of same gay bath house club in Chicago

Good times, good times!

In Basic Training they split the Males and Females, so if you have cross dressers/trannys/sexual identifaction issues where does this group of people Male or Female? Men wouldnt want these misunderstood/ very confused people within there ranks nor would the Females. Gays have always served in the military but went to great lengths to prevent themselves from being found out.

Dont ask dont tell implies I can not ask you your sexual orintation nor shall you tell me, the repeal of dont ask dont tell just allows gays to openly serve in the military with out being kicked out for being gay.

Now having transexuals allowed to serve would defintely cause problems, there would be the question how do I classify this person Male or Female? what bathroom do they use? what Barracks do they stay in? There would be a degrade in moral and and unit cohesion.

Also being able to serve in the Military is a privilege not a right.

Haha, I can just see it now...
All the transexuals, drag queens and those of indeterminate sexual gender, all putting on their make up instead of cammo paint before shouting, "lets get em girls!", as they stagger across the battlefield in their six inch stileto high heels.
"I'll scratch their eyes out!"

WOW. Like to stereotype much?

Not all gays prefer to wear make up or skirts (in fact none of my gay friends do). NONE.

Just because someone's gay doesn't necessarily mean they want to hump the dude next to them.

I was raised to love your brother...whether gay, straight, brown, orange or handicapped.

I respect ALL military folk, without prejudice. TinFoilHatMan55 you can take your hate elsewhere.

To all veterans and current military personnel:

THANKS FOR SERVING THE U.S.A.

What advocacy groups want and push for and what they will actually achieve are far different things.

Obama will never touch this...

Oh don't go getting your knickers in a twist...
If Rock Hudson can get away with being a submarine captain then I'm sure make up wearing, cross dressing, show tune loving willy wooftas can wear the uniform (as long as its tasteful and doesn't clash with their eyes) and humiliate the enemy by attacking their hair styles and dress sense...lol"

Its a joke, or does being homosexual also hinder ones sense of humour?

You obviously never served. Everyone in my squad knew how many times each other pissed never mind that kind of stuff. Who cares. Individuals. We are individuals and should be judged as such.
