The protestors are workers who represent themselves, not some vague sinister communist directive. There is a lot of disinformation on this thread by posters who wish to set up a strawman argument to shoot down the protests. Here are some important points to keep in mind when you look at what is taking place in Wisconsin.
The teachers are on strike. Still. A large number of the student body have joined them. The WEAC has requested the protest wind down. The protestors are not supported by the unions at this stage. Any posturing of support by unions is to maintain the facade they are there to represent the workers. They are not. The union hierarchy is there as part of the mechanism keeping the worker dissent controlled, and facilitating the demands of the management. Unions have already agreed to management demands.
Now for those who are posting something along the lines of this; 'America is suffering hard times, Wisconsin badly managed its resources, now everyone must accept severe belt tightening I have this point to make'.
It was not ordinary Americans like those workers in Wisconsin who are to blame for financial sink hole America has become. It is the bankers, politicians, and elites who own the corporations and industry that demanded the policies and legislative acts that culminatively resulted in this disaster. Not just those groups in America either. The people need to be looked after. That is what federal government and local governments are elected to do. It isn't a case of the ends must justify the means either. The ends envisaged as theirs alone by those who bought this disaster upon the people of America is simply not the ends to be suffered by ordinary working Americans. There is a giant chasm between the wealth of the elites and the average American. That wealth needs to be reallocated for the good of the country amongst all. That is what the protests by the workers is about. Justice.

It's thinking like this that continues to prevent peace. Accept this for what it is, a bunch of people identified with another bunch of people and sent them support. It may only be 1% of the population who are behind the pizza but it's 1% that wasn't there before. As the benefits of peaceful coexistence become more and more obvious i honestly believe the world will stabalise.
But we must accept the possibility before it can become reality.

Ask I said.. Shows We The People of this planet, not us vs them like we are led to believe... I dont care about the politics behind it, I think its awesome.

I didn't start this thread. I'm just bringing some common sense to it.
How? with baiting and trolling unnecessary sarcastic comments like this?

Personaly, I think it's quite silly.
Egypt protested over a Mubarak regime.
Teachers protested because they have to pay for their own health insurance.
Oh the horror, the horror.
(shakes head in disgust!)
also you know good and well it's not about "health insurance" It's about the right to collective bargaining .edit on 21-2-2011 by whaaa because: (no reason given)

Look, the real truth is that Unions have been the tool of communists to subvert the Free market economy and Capitalism in general. Communists hated the "bourgeoisie" since the movement started. It's just that most Americans, and perhaps many in other countries, simply don't know the communist origins of Unions. Most likely most of the teachers protesting dont' even know the communist origins, just like many Democrats don't know the history of their own Progressive party and how the Progressives of the Wilson era supported fascistic ideas.

Well, that is NEVER going to happen (never has either)
People are competitive by nature - and I DO believe in personal property.

bourgeoisie
1. the middle classes
2. (in Marxist thought) the ruling class of the two basic classes of capitalist society, consisting of capitalists, manufacturers, bankers, and other employers. The bourgeoisie owns the most important of the means of production, through which it exploits the working class
So unions have their origins in communism and are against the ruling class. What is wrong with this?
I am personally against "classes" period. Does that make me fit a label that can make me an enemy?
I do not believe in ownership of personal property. It is silly to think that on a planet of finite resources inhabited by humans who all have the same needs for their survival, anyone can claim ownership of these resources and think that someone won't have to eventually act violently for their own survival to obtain those resources.
If you cannot see that capitalism breeds perpetual violence against man by forcing him to compete to survive, then you do not understand the system of competition and iniquity that IS capitalism. A dog eat dog world breeds junk yard dogs.
Communism is not better when it evolves into socialism whereby the State, a non-existent entity, claims ownership of resources, nor facism where corporations, another fictitious entity claims ownership. In its purest form of no ownership and man helping man, it is the next and best stage in Man's evolution.
Not that this has anything to do with the thread at hand.
Unity, that is the topic.
With Love,
Your Brother

It's 2011 now and not 1950, you can crawl from under your desk at school, the "Commies and Red China are coming" drill is over.
To show you how poisoned you are, what is a Union? It's people coming together to voice opinions and complaints. Are you saying you're against this? How come one of the first things dictators do is bust up Unions? I'll answer it for you...it's because they don't want people coming together and voicing their opinions or standing up for themselves.
People with your displayed mentality are who keep the evil and suffering in this world. Separation leads to division, confusion and eventually conflict. Yet here you are advocating for separation.
