We have CSG's Carrier Strike Groups both ways. One in the Med and two in the Arabian Sea.

If they did anything funny they would never see the Persian Gulf again.

This really concerns me.

According to the article:

If the ships make the passage, it would mark the first time in three decades that Iranian military ships have traveled the canal that links the Red Sea to the Mediterranean. Israel has made clear it views the passage as a provocation.

No Iranian warships have been allowed passage in over 30 years by the Egyptian gov't. This really is a big deal. Anything can happen....stay tuned.

So... if they information is right, the Iranian ships are to enter the Suez Canal in the next 10 minutes or so.

We shall see in the next 12 hours as they reach the other side.

The only reason that Iranian warships can go now is that Mubarak was Netanhyus lover and so was king abudllah, they are all friends of Israel, and now Mubarak is gone. Iran can run its business as it pleases for all i care.

Why do we need to be concerned what some 3rd world country like Iran and Israel are doing when we have bigger problems at home. I will be concerned about them when I see an Iranian warship close to Norfolk port. Then you can act concerned.

I don't really understand why Israel feels it can dictate where ships can travel if it's not in their waters. Why is the world allowing Israel to bully other nations?

Nothing is going to happen. This isn't the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy set loose on the high seas! The Iranians are unlikely to use this as anything but a goodwill and training visit to Syria.

While I agree Israel Have no right to dictate who travels through the Suez Canal,as have bo other country, as NATO Naval vessels and Oil tankers pass through it all the time, Iran are hardly innocent victims, they supply terrorist with weapons and are trying to deliberately provoke Israel into war with them, so it's no wonder Israel are concerned, but both countries governments are as bad as each other and need to grow up. :-)

I have met many isreali's have you. They are very loving and caring and simpathic to the palastinians.

Iranian ships are boxed in and I hop the CSG moves in to inspect the cargo. If they don't it is becasue Obama is a day late and a dollar short.

A real man would have followed the Un resolutions and requested tyhe cargo be inspected down to the last pallet and container.

Well how about China come and park some nuke tipped sub launched missle off the coast of california and the coast of massachuesettes.

That is what Iran is doing right now. I guess it would be more like if Iraq parked a ship off our coast with nuke weapons on it.

Or if they came down the St. Lawrence river (with the permission of Canadian gov't) in order to then go and dock their ships at a Canadian port in Lake Ontario.

Very similar scenario.

What some may not realize is how close the Suez is to Israel.

For the record, I'm neither pro or con Israel, but I do understand why this would make the Israeli gov't very agitated. Warships from a country that has called for their annihilation are now going to be coming very, very close to them...

Because the rest of the world have gone soft. Most countries talk and wave around sheets of paper, whilst Israel waves around a loaded pistol and most of the time it's fired without question.

Comments like yours are the reason so many people come to hate Americans when you make stupid statement like calling countries 3rd World! Obviously you have never travelled outside your own borders (like most of your countrymen/women) and have no idea what you are talking about! Israel third world, yeah right!

You state this issue doesn't bother you so why are you commenting?

What the planet needs now is for world leaders to stop showing aggression and trying to show who's got the biggest stick or dick and think about what they can do to lead to a peaceful resolution.

The israeli and Palestinian leaderships need to stand up and represent their people, negotiate peace and stop all the petty squabling. Give the Palestinians the full West Bank and Gaza areas in exchange for peace. Use the funds sent from various sources to build Palestine as a country with infrastructure projects and businesses, create jobs and give the people more to think about than rock throwing and rocket launching. We need to stop the hate on both sides and then the Iranians, Syrians or anyone will have no excuse to taunt or threaten Israel (hopefully).

Barak when he was PM offered Arafat a return to the 67 borders and half of Jerusalem in return for peace and Arafat rejected the peace deal because he was making so much money out of the situation. Why did he reject it if its everything they wanted then and now?????
