I would say that recent Russian word that The United States may be in a very dangerous time for earthquakes is correct.

You are the first person I've seen state anything like this. I'm wondering if you could supply a source of this "Russian word". I'm sure most of us would be interested in reading/seeing that.

You guys....I think I have figured something out. I am not sure how to go about this though.

If you have been following TrueAmericans thread on the odd seismo readings...I am going to post something there. This is something though that I hesitate to even communicate with the USGS about. My tin hat is coming out.

ETA: I have made a post about it. This could possilby tie in with the booms and some other wierd things we have been noticing. I very well could be wrong though.

Okay, here is a link to the other thread with my comment and examples. I don't want to post it here for risk of getting off topic. If it's proven to have some validity, than maybe it would be appropriate.

Harmonic tremor in arkansas?Hope Not!

new large quake coming in around this area right now, not sure how big...

I am absolutely convinced that Arkansas was just remotely triggered by the large quakes in Japan.
There is a bigger quakes in Arkansas right now and just before that there was cluster activity which stated just as the waves were reaching Central Arkansas. This means water is involved. Long story. Too long for now. I've written about it in the Yellowstone thread.

Alaskan earthquakes change Yellostones Geysers. Find it please.

This means Arkanasas is primed and rumbling everytime something shakes it. Like a swollen water balloon. Tap it and it resonates. Hit it too hard...

I am absolutley certain there is a major issue with water saturation under Arkansas.

You can't stop nature once it's set into motion.

I think the "Russian word" could maybe be from this thread.... March Mega Quake Warning Issued For The United States

As for the moon..... There is something that has been knocking around in my head for a few weeks now. I read in a book about Earth Tides, then I saw the news posted about the upcoming moon on March 19th. So finally this morning, I did some searches.

I first found this webpage: Earth tides near Leonard Oklahoma. that information is from 2002, but still very informative (well I thought so).

Earth tides, like ocean tides, are caused by the gravitational attraction of the sun and moon on the rotating earth. The ocean tides are similar, but they vary from place to place according to the shape of the shorline. What we commonly call "TIDE" is the DIFFERENCE between the ocean tides and the earth tides seen at shorelines.

Then the next one I found was a Science Daily page from October 2004. Now this one deals strictly with ocean tides (different then Earth tides), but it does show a correlation to tides and EQs:

Earthquakes can be triggered by the Earth's tides, UCLA scientists confirmed Oct. 21 in Science Express, the online journal of Science. Earth tides are produced by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on the Earth, causing the ocean's waters to slosh, which in turn raise and lower stress on faults roughly twice a day. Scientists have wondered about the effects of Earth tides for more than 100 years.

Strong Earth Tides Can Trigger Earthquakes, UCLA Scientists Report

I hope some of that can help with understanding what is happening.

Robin, I am no scientist, and you probably have many more years than me but,...it may not be water...

I believe it has more to do with the Global Tectonics Plates Theory (which I wrote about earlier in this thread)

www.ucmp.berkeley.edu...

www.tulane.edu...

The Japan Earthquake do in fact impact Arkansas. I explained earlier in this thread:

Japan -> Hawaii -> Alaska -> California -> Yellowstone -> New Madrid

This is mostly because the Earth's magma is shared, and travels depending on magnetics.

Like I said. I could be wrong. Just my opinion!

yes it does yes it does, its the sound of a great pool of magma with water on top

as a note also ive noticed that all automatic reporting is off for the usgs. None are automatic generated. and i have noted a couple that disapeared within 2 min

Well they show a 3.5 in Greenbriar and not long after a 6.6 in New Guinea. A world apart I know. I don't have the ability from my phone but did and if it did the New Zealand quake and the larger Ark quakes time and date wise. I was also wondering about the relation to the Japan quake last night and the time different in any of the larger Ark quakes.

During the Japan earthquake there were two recorded on the list and you could see them amongst the waves from the 7.2 magnitude. A 2.1 and a 2.4 occured as the ways were travelling through Arkansas. Then some smaller one.

But today as soon as the 6.6 magnitude quakes rolled through, there were several smaller ones that built quickly and then the 3.5 hit.

And I haven't checked back yet, but I think there was another occurance of remote triggering.
It happens with the geysers in Yellowstone, why can it not happening in Arkansas?

It can and just did.

i would be inclined to think that the Oregon coast should see some more activity. within a few hours it seems to also trigger that area also

Today's Japan quake 6.1 came within minutes of the 6.6 Papua New Guinea. It was a double whammy.

The Japan quake triggered the New Guienea quake and it travelled to Arkansas and triggered the 3.5 in Arkansas.

It has been eerily quiet here since the last one off-shore. We have been having a rash of odd placed micro quakes for a few weeks now...and now nothing.

No deep tremors for several days either. I have spoken about this before on my washington thread and how I think the tremors and their behavior is tied into the quakes. I still really think there might be some big surprises if they were to set up a deep tremor array in arkansas.

I fear that you are right. At risk of being an alarmist...I got a bad feeling about all of this.

Sorry, it was the earlier 6.0 that remotely triggered the Arkansas activity. The waves from the two larger quakes are coming through Arkansas now.

Looks like another smaller one just now admist all the P waves. I am having to rely on the IRIS seismo due to the mess of GEE from all these incoming waves. In fact, I am having that problem with a whole lot of these graphs everywhere right now. It is getting very difficult to the un-trained eye to distinguish what the heck is going on.

One thing I DO know...the whole earth is humming.
