Good grief? It's true. Saying it is not doesn't change that fact. You and I are both killing someone somewhere somehow through our actions.

Never said dispense with it. I am for more a lover of logic than emotion and bullcrap human thought. Just telling you the simple fact. God and logic are incompatible.

Define failure? There have been 100+ billion people that have lived on this planet. How many were killed by another man, directly or indirectly?

Indeed worth is subjective. So let the government say what's worth. if you make the government worth its people and not what it takes from them, they will go with the benefit of the doubt.

Working is perfectly natural, after all we are hunter/gatherers.

That being said, our pre-agriculture/farming ancestors only had to work about 20 hours a week...IIRC.

I have also felt this intensely for about 2 years.

We spend all day at work to afford houses we rarely live in and to buy things we don't have time to use. I don't have the answers but surely, surely this is not the way it's meant to be.

Alright ! You've got an excellent thread going here. Work, for me is a natural thing, I'm talking hard labor here.
Outdoors in the sunshine of So Calif. I love it..However, the fact that I, have to woirk, for a living ,just because I live on this Earth, for me, is really a messed up way of existence. I believe in the Good Lord and I know, this world is an abomination, to what, he once looked upon and said," it is good". God wouldn't make a place like this. I know that in my heart.

Regardless of how you go about it, one must always 'work' for food, shelter, safety, ect. It's as natural as breathing. So, no. I do not feel it's un-natural in the slightest.

if you think working 10 hours a day in natural then god help you. Most people live to work not work to live these days bc they are content. They have been sucked in by governments to believe they have to live a certain way. Follow a set of bull# rules, Soon we will be paying for the air we breath because of people with your attitude.

but do you know what is un-natural.

most people in the modern world wouldnt have the slightest clue how to truly live off the land.

Grow veggies, fruits or kill an animal to eat etc..

take away things like the super market and see what happens.

Have you ever owned even a garden? Do you know how much work goes into growing your own food, hunting down animals, fashioning your own weapons and getting enough practice to be able to do it decently, building your own shelter or getting supplies?

It's A LOT, A LOT more work than we do 'within society'. It takes far longer, and it's far harder than our little commute to work, brain blast for 8 hours, come home and watch TV. You have to do EVERYTHING yourself. Every convenience you have now, you won't have.

It can be very, very enriching and rewarding. It has its benefits, but don't be fooled, it would take A LOT more work than anything you do now.

S&F, Well thought out fully agree OP. Although I had to take a different route to come to the same conclusions. After working at my last job for about 5 yrs, 14hr work days, gone from home 1-2 weeks every month. Finally burned out and ended up getting hurt on the job and found myself forced out of my position sitting on unemployment. And this was a job I was great at and that I loved doing most of the time. But sitting around with nothing but time on my hands I have reached pretty much the same conclusions as you have and it's not easy when you start thinking that way. I guess working your ass off with little time to think to yourself can be a good thing as it keeps the mind from wandering and questioning.

So wait... you just wan't to... 'exist'? Not have to do... anything? What would you possibly contribute if your 'God' gave you EVERYTHING? You HAVE to be able to give back, to prosper, to learn and grow... that's what everything in nature is about. The way we've developed it for our own life is different than a plant's, but it's ALL THE SAME THING. How would you ever become stronger spiritually, if you don't contribute, give, learn what you and yourself need while helping others?

Working is natural, and it is only around 40+- hours a week out of 168 hours. 1/4 of your life you have to work in order to live the other 3/4. I don't see why this is such a problem. Who says you have to sleep 8 hours. You want to waste 1/4 or your life sleeping? Or if you choose to live a simpler life work less and live on less. Work 0/8 and be a bum and drag on society.

It is what you make it and keeps you going. If you want to not work and live in a tent, nobody is stopping you from doing so, this is what makes America so great. The best country that people had to WORK and DIE for to create and build and that gives you the opportunity to cry on your computer.

What is not natural is sitting around complaining on the internet about working, playing video games all day, doing drugs all day, watching TV for hours, playing with you cell phone, breaking the law, stealing, lying, trying to get stuff for free etc. We were put here for a reason so serve the purpose.

Keep in mind people are working to keep the world running. Building cars, guns, ammo, making pharmaceuticals, Producing energy, drilling for oil gas and coal, killing animals for food, monitoring cable and internet networks. It is funny how people like you guys think that everything is free and comes out of thin air. Maybe instead of doing sales, go work in a manufacturing plant and build something. Maybe you will feel a sense of accomplishment, i dont know.

It is that thinking that one doesn't have to work that is unnatural. It started here in the USA from all of the entitlements; welfare, food stamps etc. Yes they are sometimes needed but this will create a lazy society. America has become soft and weak because of thinking we don't have to work. While our youth becomes lazy and weak, The Chinese are growing their power. Now that is a whole different conspiracy. Now all the whinny babies feel entitled to have everything without working for it. So sack up and GO WORK DUDES.

I think our society has conditioned us to think of work as negative because the majority of the jobs they want to present to us are negative. If we just believe that work sucks because it is work, then we won't complain about our jobs because, hey, "work is work, right?"

Working for a living can be enjoyable. If you have little or no debts (which is how they make you work the crappy jobs), you can do something you enjoy. Personally, I love working with non-profits (like homeless programs) that actually help my community instead of corporations (like Wallmart) that actually hurt my community. We are also tricked into thinking the only way to achieve disposable income is by making more money and taking out loans. That is why you are unhappy.

When I was making 60k a year with a wife making decent money with no kids, we were both unhappy and had no money due to credit card payments, car loans, rent, etc. Now we have a child, both go to school, and work minimally to pay our basic needs. Our happiness level has never been higher.

If I were to tell any young person one piece of indispensable advice to never, ever waiver from (with the exception of student loans if you have a passion) is to never go into debt and to find the cheapest and reasonable housing available.

Work is an essential part of being human. If we didn't work, we would be running around naked hunting food with no shelter, which hunting food can even be considered work. In my opinion, we need to work harder, and work more often, to get more done, and create new things for the earth for the benefit of all.

Hard work is even fulfilling, and makes you feel good about yourself. So if you can feel good about yourself from working hard, why would you not want to work hard all the time?

Laziness can only hurt people.

There has bin a lot of stuff said on this thread all valid in there own right, so this is not to take away from the others.

I will try to make this a simple as possible, but with all things in life it is your choice on how you live.

First every thing in your reality is not real your life is not real working and making a living is not real, it is all a creation of your mind, what you think is what your life is and if you except it then that is your life.

Second how do I know think vary small look at your self and the reality that you create around you, we are all little fuzzy protons, with billions and billions of possibilities, that means your reality is what you think.

Do you want to change your life do you want to control your reality or let your reality control you.

Now how much do you really want to change is it a little of a lot ask your self.

Matrix Energetics encompasses a new state of mind, and reality. This is where you start it not about what it does but what possibilities it opens up into your reality.

You can disregard this at your own peril, the sooner you under stand this the sooner you can create you life as you want it to be and the hell with the rest of the world and who ever tells you different. You have to really want it. Good luck, I see that you are all ways up for a challenge this is one that will change your life for ever!

Yes that may be true. But they enjoyed the "thrill" of the hunt/gathering and in the process they were keeping and improving their fitness (physically and genetically). Currently, we are Homo Sapiens Sapiens (soon to be Homo Evolutis or if the Singularity happens, something else). If you do not have a job that you enjoy that challenges you physically or cognitively you will become a runt. And IMHO, you will devolve.

But I used to work fulltime 40 hours a week, plus full-time college student at the sametime and i know what it's like man... it feels like there's NO ESCAPE!! but there is, but you need a plan, otherwise there is just random thoughts with little-to-no action.

I suppose if one wants something bad enough, they will find a way to make it happen, no excuses. The catch is: finding that thing that you want bad enough...

Please accept my apologies if I am mistaken here, but after reading your post here, I cannot help feeling that you are suggesting in some way that your particular plan of "making it happen, no excuses" and to "ESCAPE" "you need a plan" involves receiving income via disability while working at your own preference on the side. Is that what you are saying?

Again, please accept my apologies if you are not suggesting such a plan of escape as this. I would like to stress greatly that I have one MILLION % sympathy for anyone disabled, repeat, one MILLION %.

While I sympathize with anyone who is legitimately disabled and unable to work, I FULLY DESPISE anyone whose "plan" to "escape" includes receiving illegitimate income from hard-working taxpayers money.

I say this because I know several people who are doing this, and they have fun all day long by the pool, lugging lawn chairs around, and big heavy radios and coolers packed with ice and beer around all day long yet they are too disabled to work. This gets on my nerves DEEPLY!!! So I HOPE this is not your plan of escape.

Now I would like to address everyone who thinks im simply whining about having to work.

When I was unemployed a yr ago, I fell into a deep depression, because I sat at home all day and basically did nothing. After a few weeks of this, I realized that I was losing my mind! Indeed I felt like if I had had a full time job, I would not be depressed and instead happy....

Now that I have my job, Im grateful, but at the same time I feel like the best years of my life are slipping away as I sit behind my desk at work for ungodly long hours...

How can we achieve a balance of work and play so that after a long week, I truly feel that the weekend makes it all worthwhile?

I always felt that no matter how rich a person gets, one should be their own boss, instead of busting your butt to make someone else rich. Back in the day, it seemed that in small towns and what not, everyone had their own business. every family contributed to the local community. It is not natural, I always thought of it as voluntary slavery, as I mentioned above, the workers make the owner rich, whilst barely scratching a living. And in many cases, the owners of the big companies act as if they are doing the workers a favor, but I see it as, the workers are creating the mans wealth so in turn the workers are doing the owner a favor.

We used to be able to just sprout up a business of our own, but now, the government has to give you the ok first. And you have to pay for x amount of permits, licenses etc...

It's not natural in a sense that if it's at such a large scale, well.. having the greater population toiling away in such a way, just to barely make it in most cases is plain and simple not right at all.

Instead of helping one another out, humanity just wants to screw over everyone else, we are supposed to be advanced but hell, it seems some species in the animal kingdom are more advanced socially than we are.

As for me, I am now sorta forced to take a job where I will be gone for almost the entire time, perhaps 3 months at a time if I really want to make a dent in my debts. Sux I only started to investigate and find out the debt trap. I now have to give part of my life away to dig my self out, time of my life that I will never get back. We are all in this together, some have gotten dealt a hand worst than others, what ever we can do to help each other out will make the difference in the end, we should put a stop to giant corporations who only think of profits.

Apologies, I feel I have veered off and ranted a bit, I'll stop before I go further away from the main subject matter.

Are you sure only getting 30 minutes break a day is legal for working 12 hours a day? you should look into that, there is a difference between being an employee and a slave.

don't like to work? don't. i don't mind working, just don't like being a slave for the government. but i am fortunate in that i may live to see it collapse under the weight of its' own dysfunctionality.
