In the first place, the "author" is a known Internet hoaxer!!

And, a brief perusal is all it takes to smell (and see) the BS in the first paragraph:

While the AN-22 is an interesting example....not the same, when you look at the photo in that "article" in the link, above.

The airplane pictured is much, much smaller than the AN-22...and has one large single vertical fin, not the double-tail as the AN-22 does.

Still, great to read about these off-beat airplanes. The Russians, height of the Cold War, had some really crazy designs....they were playing catch-up a lot, and relied on a bit of out-dated design and technology.

I'm in Saint Augustine FL and have also noticed contrails which linger and form a cloud sheet over the course of a few hours. I've been watch these for some time, and I've studied the science behind contrails. I believe that there are experiments being conducted by the military, out of Edwards Airforce base, in which they need the cloud covering. My guess is that they are HAARP or weather manipulation experiments. To the debunkers the science of contrails does explain a lot of the phanomina we see but there is plenty of evidence out there that proves the use of airosoles in the atmosphere for various reasons. There is also evidence that the government has been altering the weather as far back as the late 60's.

ummm, tell us why they would need cloud cover over Edwards AFB? And wouldnt any such cloud cover be moving away pretty fast?

This is my opinion of what might be taking place. HAARP works by sending high fequency radiowaves into the ionisphere. I believe cloud cover may be nessicary to bouncing these waves in order to project them around the globe and may be needed for "over the horizon radar and other secret technologies". I'm not saying they are needed over the airforce base. The planes seem to come from that direction. The cloud cover is wide spread and although it does seem to drift, it is up there for several hours after it's creation, long enough I would imagine to conduct HAARP experiments.

There is other evidence out there for those who look for it. I think it was a discovery channel documentry I saw about weather modification that mentioned seeding the clouds to cause it to rain during the vietnam war.

You wrote that, because you read it, and I'm willing to bet you have no idea just what the ionosphere is!! Further more, clouds DO NOT reflect "high frequency radiowaves"! THINK it through, would you?? If that were the case, then airplanes that are flying in clouds wouldn't be able to communicate, via radio, with anyone, would they??

Oh, and the ionosphere? Doesn't even begin until a height of about 40 miles, or so, above the Earth's surface. Why not research the altitudes flown by commercial jet airliners. Even military jets, too.....

As I said....you are falling for charlatans, on those "HAARP" conspiracy sites. Either they are making that crap up, or they are indeed not very bright, and/or possibly delusional....

I was speaking in a general sense and these are only my thoughts. I have read about how HAARP works but I don't fully understand it but I remember that the radio waves generate a plasma of some sort and HAARP works on the amplification of it's own effects. I can't explain what may be happening in the skys but I know barium is released to track the wind and military planes release chaff to fool radar. I have read papers on how refective particles in the sky could reduce the effects of global warming. Why is it so hard to believe other experiments are taking place in the skys. Also HAARP is a real place being run by the Air Force and not a hoax.

So far every time someone posts pics like that it turns out to be spider ballooning season

I've never heard of Barium being used for that purpose.

Barium has been shot into the ionosphere on occasion, using ROCKETS, with small payloads - in het order of 50kg (110 lb) or thereabouts, and exploded in the ionosphere to help study it's effcts - perhaps dozens or perhaps hundred times around the world in the last 50 years - it's not hard to find - google "barium rocket ionosphere" to get a haeap of links to studies of it.

Yep - and yuo can find plenty of papers postulating the effects and some even suggesting spraying stuff the do exactly that.

Also HAARP is a real place being run by the Air Force and not a hoax.

and you can visit it on its open days - the entire facility is open to the public!
