NED and Soros work in tandem, targeting the same regimes and using the same methods. NED President Carl Gershman, in writing of the hundreds of Non-Governmental Organizations working for “regime change” throughout the world, pays particular tribute to the Ford Foundation and “the foundations established by the philanthropist George Soros.”[7] Following the Money Trail As the common adage goes, if you want to know who’s running things, follow the money trail. Looking at the recipients for NED grants we find the following, for 2009 (the latest available):
The National Endowment for Democracy was founded in 1983 at the prompting of post-Trotskyite activist Tom Kahn, and exists under the patronage of the US Congress and Big Business, to promote the “world revolution” that was the common ideal of Trotsky and his contemporary President Woodrow Wilson.
NED describes its program of “democratic initiatives” (sic) as operating in Poland (through the trade union Solidarity), Chile, Nicaragua, Eastern Europe (to aid in the democratic transition following the demise of the Soviet bloc), South Africa, Burma, China, Tibet, North Korea and the Balkans. “Serbia’s electoral breakthrough in the fall of 2000″ was achieved by supporting “a number of civic groups.” “More recently, following 9/11 and the NED Board’s adoption of its third strategic document, special funding has been provided for countries with substantial Muslim populations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.”[21] At least ten of the twenty-two directors of NED are also members of the plutocratic think tank, the Council on Foreign Relations,[22] including CFR program directors.

Well, you're more generous than me. *I* fault us- not just for being bull stupid, but being rotten, exploitive, devious people. Karma is a bitch and it gets really old having our "leaders" foreign policy machinations come back on us, the citizens.edit on 29-1-2011 by DogsDogsDogs because: typo

You edited! Whoa! (aw geez, now I'm going to have to think at this hour) You got any recommended reading for that? Interesting...REAL interesting!
Egypt has rounded up members and leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in advance of tomorrow's protests after Friday prayers. It's a good preventative measure no matter who wins this power struggle, although I am sure the American Muslim Brotherhood proxies, i.e., CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, MAS, MSA, are up in arms, frothing at the mouth and trying to get Obama or Holder on the phone.
(Soros, a currency speculator and drug legalization advocate, is a major contributor to Tides, having donated more than $7 million.)
Tides has also given grant money to the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Ostensibly a “Muslim civil rights group,” CAIR is in fact one of the leading anti-anti-terrorism organizations in the United States.

The telegraph, with supporting documentation, is asserting that the US is behind the recent protests in Egypt and plotting to instill another more democratic government in its place.
This being true, clearly Mubarak has out reigned his usefulness, but how?
The front runner in the media seems to be Mr. Mohammed Elbaradei. Will he be the new puppet?
If this is true, it is outrageous and also draws into question all the other mideast protests and overthrows over the past few weeks.
