I know it not always possible to prove as it stays in the system so long... but surely a police officer has training to tell if someone is inebriated or not? The eyes are a dead giveaway with any drug. I can normally tell if someone has had a smoke so you'd think the police could tell, plus if someones been smoking and driving then chances are they will still have their supply on them. A quick search would surely gather enough evidence in that situation. Plus theres lots of modern technology being used now they can test your fingerprints to see if youve been touching drugs. I'm not sure if the traffic cops are using these nationwide yet though, if not I'm sure it won't be long!
Yes it may cause distorted perception, loss of cooridination, maybe even hallucinations. Cant agree with poor judgement though if anything smokers have better judgement than most other people! (if a little paranoid...) thats why I stand by my point. If a smoker is suffering from any of the symptoms above then chances are he aint gonna be getting in the car. Hes gonna be sleeping it off or raiding the nearest fridge.
I dont condone either drink driving or drug driving, personally I would never do either. I'm just stating an obvious fact, that drink drivers are a lot more dangerous than stoners

As soon as anyone can grow what they want, it will put dealers out of business. The govt. has no business dealing pot or taxing it. I believe that the border patrol agent will have his day and be vindicated.

Exactly and it wont happen because the government is your dealers dealer ,
i reckon theyd rather have the cash that way unnaccounted for to put into black ops than have weed taxed and have to put the money into improving our cities .
ps a question, 10 years ago an oz of nice green was £100 cheaper than it is now , Is it similar in US ?

It seems odd that this tread is about pot, but we are not allowed to talk about pot. So many off topic posts here, it seems pointless.

Well, here's me just back off my post ban. I'd like to take the opportunity to thank elevatedone for not getting all power crazed about it & also to draw comparisons with the events of the OP.

In the USA this man apparently has the right to freedom of speech. Whatever rights we may have in our respective countries, we here have agreed to T&Cs to limit our speech. Even tho that means that, in this forum, people can & do make any wild assumption or illogical argument, so long as they decry drug use, & these arguments cannot be countered effectively for fear of being seen to advocate legalisation &/or personal use. They're the rules: there is some ignorance we cannot deny here. TBH, if I'd noticed that the thread had been moved to Alt Subs, an exchange of views I had with SO would've likely popped up in my memory & I'd have just left the thread. This border guard almost certainly did not agree to any such T&Cs & I expect that even asking him to have done so as a precondition for employment would be unconstitutional.

I'm reminded of something an American friend said to me, "Oh yeah, we got the right to free speech... an' we got the right to run like hell whenever we use it."

Ya I would just ignore it! The site owners have made it clear they dont want open discussion about this topic!
I do however Think it is ridiculous that the boarder guard was in trouble for expressing his personal opinion. S&F OP
