A scene can still be filmed without light, we just can't see it with our eyes. What about infrared filming too? The camera internals create an image without the need for light, it uses heat instead.

And to play it back you DO need light or else you just have a blank screen to view.

There is also the case as with people who are blind from birth. They still dream, only without light. They dream about sounds, emotions, and sensations of touch. People who become blind later in life can dream with vision.

They're post blindness dream experiences are compositions of visual memories made before they lost their vision. Strangely though there is generally enough information stored to create and endless amount of new dreams.

The light is seen even when you close your eyes. You are light.
Upon waking from sleep, a dream is remembered and dismissed, it all happened in the head. Who says this is not also a dream. But whos head is it happening in?

I fancy the notion that the universe is a quantum soup wherein everything is in superposition, i.e. every [possibility is in occurrence at once. Our conciseness cuts through this soup 'collapsing' the wavefunction of the atoms as it encounters them. But this wavefunction has not truly collapsed, it only seems so from the perspective that my conscience has encountered it, you would be viewing the atom in a different quantum state from the perspective of your conscience. In that respect, the universe that I live in is not the same as the one that you do, it's all just one big multi-verse. (this is where my signature derives from)

I've got expanded ideas on this theory that takes into account dreams and the likes, I'll write it all into a thread if there's enough people interested. Would be a good excuse to write my ideas down and get everybody else's.

Ideas, both good or bad, are all needed to develop our knowledge and understanding.

I think this is a bit silly. Another analasis to mess with peoples minds. We dont taste? We dont see? we dont feel? my reality is real, i know this

No, our tongues don't taste, our nose doesn't smell, our fingers don't feel, our eyes do not see, and our ears do not hear. These are all simply receptors that transmit data to the brain where IT processes that data into taste, smell, feeling, seeing, and hearing.

For those of you who are mocking the OP, think about the fact that this is in the philosophy forum where philosophical ideas are discussed. If you don't agree with the OP's philosophical idea, then present your idea as to why and back it up with other philosophical ideas to the contrary or simply say you don't agree and there really would be nothing more to say. Of course, the other option is to just humor the OP and maybe learn a thing or to about a particular philosophical idea--the Holographic Universe.

Think about the fact that there are about as many philosophers that say they can logically prove the existence of God as there are that say they can logically prove he does not exist. Thus is the nature of philosophy. Your mocking only serves to show that you are either incapable of taking part in a philosophical conversation or you are simply ignorant to what philosophy really is. Chill out. Breath. And simply take part in the conversation. Don't take it so personally that someone has an idea that you find preposterous. Most philosophical ideas are simply thought exercises that expand your mind to all the different possibilities that can explain the nature of existence. It's actually rather fun if you just go with it.

What about when we dream? Could it be proof of our holographic life style? Think about this, why can we see light or anything that occurs in a dream when our eyes are closed? We see because of light. Dreams take place inside the mind, when we close our eyes we can't see anything...

I'm not sure what you are driving at in this part? It almost seems to deflect from your original train of thought.

If Lenny is right about the horizon of the black hole saving energy then it also means that light was saved as well. When we close our eyes and goto sleep we shouldn't be able to see objects in our dreams unless there is a source of light inside of brains that scientists haven't discovered. I'm saying that we see in our sleep because of the saved light being projecting off of the horizon.

Yea, see this is the part I don't know, but I can assume that if there is a natural constant string of dimensions maybe an actual black hole is the connection. Based of Carl Sagan's description of viewing the "shadows" of dimensional objects then I assume (as he does) we are shadows of 4 dimensional people, except just being projected from the horizon of a black hole. The time part made me think about how some say the 4th dimension is too unstable so they transfer to the 5th dimension but who knows? I have this diagram in my head.. I think I'll draw it out and upload it then shape it up with MS paint to see what I mean with the dimensions, because it's different than the string theory, but kind of like the same principle in a different way to match Lenny's Horizon Theory.

Protons are fired through an object with only one portion removed ---
then with an item of the same material with two portions removed --- trying to determine if Light is a wave or packet -- substance --- particle or wavelength
when first fired through it appeared that the protons went to whichever of the two slits they felt like with no order whatsoever
when the technology arose to watch more closely it has now forced to protons to do what was expected of them --- the only explanation being that they are being observed ...

That's really all we can do with these types of ideas. There comes a point where you go so far down the rabbit hole that it starts to not really even apply to how you live your life. But it is still so much fun to do!

If we were to say that the Holographic Universe Theory is true, simply for the sake of argument, what would that mean for us? Would it really mean anything at all?

S & F! Great post, thank you! This is a perfect example of what I suspect a lot of us intuitively know already. I feel as if I am in a holding pattern until the Creator throws the switch which will instantly bring forth...the ascension, change, move to another dimension or whatever terminology one chooses to use. OR perhaps he will just turn off the damn projector! BUT I feel deep down in every fiber of my being that it is coming, this change. Listen to your intuition. Look inside for the answers to all the important questions. Totally disregard the neysayers. You are much farther along the path than they are. They are not yet able to see the shimmering vista just beyond the next rise. I see it. You see it. Beyond the next rise, the radiance is remarkable. I feel undescribable joy approaching.

i watched this on bbc i think and what annoyed we was they never gave you the answers to the experiments they did an kind of keeps you guessing but they'll no if its true or not but we dont
