There are few things that drive me up the wall more than people who take one part of something and use it for a different context. I hope you all know
the theory behind 11:11, 1234 and so forth. It was said to be a way for the 1,111 spirit guardians to get in touch with us, just like switching lights
off as we go by or door bells ringing and no one being there. I look at this thread and see many going "I bet something wicked weird is going to
happen on 11/11/11!" and I would bet you a nickel to a hole in a doughnut that these are the same people who helped spread the word about 10/10/10,
9/9/9, 8/8/8, 7/7/7, 6/6/6, and so on. I realize that it is peoples misunderstanding of their mind which leads to these moments of awe caused by
obvious and common things.
111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 1234, 6789, and so forth appeal to our minds because there is a clear attraction to patterns and consistencies. Why do we
notice 1234? Because our brain recognizes that those numbers are in the correct order and our minds find it amusing when we find these patterns where
we don't expect them. You expect it in an elementary school classroom, but not on a license plate or clock or random number sequence. When we see
these numbers we find it amusing because it's almost like an inside joke. The fact that the number sequence showed up randomly and we know that the
sequence itself isn't random, awakens a connection to our memories with the real world. Think about the sensation of when you predict something and it
turns out to be true, it's the same feeling. However, we like to make it into more than it is. Further, numbers like 666 and 777 are especially
recognized because of the stories behind them. I know that a few years ago each time I would see '9:11' on a clock, I would be in a state of awe that
I saw that because of what the number meant.
Now, you all are perfectly fine with believing what you would like to believe, everyone is righted that. What aggrivates me is when some of you say
things like "several of us see it, you just don't see it". That's like saying "there's an elephant sitting on my couch", your friend looks over, "no
there isn't" and you say "of course there is, I can see it. You just don't see it yet". Smoke what he's smoking and you may find not only an elephant
on the couch, but a clown in your closet. Simply, if you want to believe it that's fine, but realize that there are sceptics who don't believe what
you do. I myself see number sequences all the time, in fact I even see the first few numbers of pi often, simply I realize that these sequences are
recognized as unusual by my mind, viewing them with my peripheral vision.
Now, I can't say with certainty that there is nothing spiritual about this 111,11:11 and so on, there might be. However, can you at least get a story
to stick to? It's like 2012. 2012 will arrive and something bad will happen, as it does every year, and then in 2013 the 2012 people will say 'see,
something did happen!'. The undefeatable prophecy is the one of 'something will happen on this date', of course it will, it always does. That's just
my rant for the evening.
Until next time,
