Its private property and they do not need any reason to ask you to leave / remove you from the bar. Physical force (excluding death) can be used to forcibly remove a person from private property.

Record everything and get immediate medical help.

Hire an attorney and go after them with everything you have. File a complaint with the State Board that issued them a business license.


They can't be allowed to get away with physically harming innocent people.

Likely the operation is owned by a drug cartel and they wanted you out because you looked at their girl...or some other ridiculous reason. You'd be amazed at how many times this happens. Sometimes they kill people.

If it is a drug cartel operation....going after them with a lawyer will have consequences. You may wish to seek an anonymous approach for remedy. I'll leave it at that.

This makes me think of the movie , Road House. Rule Number One: Be Nice. Escort them to the door, but be nice. The goal of a bouncer or cooler isn't to be a bad ass and hurt people, but to keep the peace, in a polite manner. These clowns obviously don't get it. They were probably jacked up on 'roids or crank or something. If I ran that bar and found out my bouncers were acting that way, they'd be down the road. They could have easily walked you away from the property and sent you on your way but they insisted on rendering you unconscious.

I'd sue. Period. If your friends could see what was going on, you should have plenty of witnesses.

You need to try and get in tuch with the manager of the bar and let him no what his staff are up to cos next time they may kill someone.
if you make a police report and they do it to someone else then you'll have a better case.
Cos it's a total abuse of power!

If you were not acting a fool and causing problems for the business, and you were just a patron of the business there would be no cause to have you removed from the place. If they had no cause and you feel they caused physical determinate that was not worth what you committed. Number one talk to the owner make them aware of the situation so they can deal with the people that caused the harm. A lot of times owners do not see these sort of things happening and would gladly fix the situation accordingly, by viewing tapes, and hearing your account you could help the owner of the business fix this so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Now if the owner seems unresponsive to your requests then and only then pursue a legal option for damages done, but you have to have proof there is a burden of proof even in civil cases, including getting a lawyer to get a judges order for the tapes, etc... I am not a legal councilor but that is what I would advise.

I also dont frequent bars. Thats a possibly bad scene regardless of where you are.


Wanna get revenge....LEGALLY! find a lawyer. Anything else would violate TOC and possibly some laws

been there done that!!, been to most hollwood clubs and bars when i was a lot younger, dont go anymore for those reasons,
quite a few years back i used to frequent a club in orange county, cool place, only club ive ever been to where i was there for an hour and didnt see any ugly chicks!! the owner was cool too.................in the beginning,............. when his club took off and became REALY popular, he became an A$$H..LE!! and let his security do anything they liked, luckily i was friends with a few of his security so when i was talking to his girlfriend (i knew she was his girlfriend, and yes, we were just talking!) the 2 securty guys that were friends of mine came by, pulled me aside and quietly told me that the owner wanted my butt kicked and i should leave NOW!!....................so i split!!.....a few months later i was working at a strip club here in town as head of security and floor manager( it was my night job, day job was shop forman at a car dealer) that owner came in and wanted to party, i saw him, knew who he was but he didnt recognize me, i kissed his butt, ordered him drinks and an hour or so later sat down in his booth and told him who i was................his eyes were bulging from his head!!!LOL i calmly told him that hes welcome to stay and enjoy himself with his friends...............but....................if he got outa line just one bit, i would have my guys beat him down like he was going to do with me at his club

he dropped 10 grand that night at the club!!! and tipped me 1k and apoligised to me and asked me to come back to his club and i would have "the run of the place"..................i never did, he came back to the strip club a few times and spent a bit of money...............money talks and i took mine and ran!!!


i dont go to many clubs now, its just to dangerous, one misunderstanding and you wind up hurt or worse, in the hospital

Revenge is not illegal. However assault, battery, assault with intent to murder is illegal.

You shouldn't catch each of your attackers alone and beat them down with a bat.
Even when our animal instincts demands it, our fear of the cops/courts dissuades us.

So we are left with suing them into poverty. So do that.

When I was younger I would dole out retribution with forethought and no compunction.
There are consequences for their actions.
Now violent offenders only fear the cops/courts, not us beating them to a pulp.

I agree with you. This gentleman needs to get as much evidence together as he can. Statements from , his friends, pictures of any briusing, any clothes that may have been damaged, etc.

Get to a doctor for an examination and a lawyer to get your hands on any tapes that the bar survielance cameras may have showing the incident before they are taped over or erased. Sounds to me like you have a good case.

I will have to agree with 'havenvideo' on this one. One by one.
Wish you well with the lawyer thing. Just make the police report, and try to have the lawyer get the video from Friday night. Sue the hell out of the establishment, and the individuals. If it doesn't work, One by one.

Most of those "Private Security" goons work for a private company. It happened to me. You can't sue somebody with nothing. These firms pile up the lawsuits then change names. I believe him. I thought about finding them one on one. But in the end...Write it off. Like in football, the guy that strikes back is always punished. Move on...

When you have 4-5 semi trained, over eager guys wanting to subdue you, I don't care if you're fedor emelianko (best fighter in the world), you will get subdued, especially when you're unprepared and drunk.

I am an mma fighter, American Top Team trained and 3rd place grappling/jiu jitsu winner for south Florida. First thing, chin down, shoulders up (for me its easy, I am 6'0, 260lbs lean bodybuilder style and shoulder crunch 700lbs), then if you can get your hand(s) in between his arm and your kneck. @hawkeye I agree with everything you are saying. In fact I would be YOU, saying exactly what you are saying to me right now. But again, I don't know what kind of divine intervention happened but I WAS able to remain awake. And trust me I'm not easy to get a choke on but it was Very FAST, by multiple men and I wasn't expecting any reaction like that. Just to be clear, the choke was applied TIGHT and correctly. You don't have to believe me but I'm not one to exaggerate. I'm almost a purple belt BJJ.

@mountain40 Well My throat is crushed. It clicks open when I swallow/yawn. It's busted and VERY sore. I have never been in the hospital in my life and to be honest they scare to hell out of me. It's a real event buddy, not made up. Please. I remember every detail because I didn't pass out. If I did I probably wouldn't remember. My friends really couldn't do anything. They are really built for that either. Just being honest.

It really sounds like you may have waited too long already......
Go through the motions though...police report, ER and doctors visit.
You may end up with throat cancer years down the line or other serious medical issues.....
Just suck it up and do what must be done if you wish to take any justice home with you one day....
other than that, a compalint to the liquer control people would also help.......

It sounds like you were caught on amenture night and were put in a bad choke hold, the guy didn't know what he was doing and was praticing on you, easy since he had his buddies to hold you while he did.

They got me at a Holiday Inn, down in Florida some years back, they said I was drunk, I had one drink. They set me up, but I waited till we were out side then I dumped the ones had ahold of me. They were all lined up, I did a mind phycs on them, I had 4 lined up but the punks were afraid to bit the bullet, none of them were to froggie to be the first on to jump. The cops pull up I hear them say on the radio yea he was holding off 4 when we pulled up.
I told the cop arrest this guy this one and this one, they wouldn't but I picked up my sport coat and they drove me to my car.
I tried to sue but the attorney said I was from out of town and would lose.
I would have got shot if this had progressed much further, as I was alone and missed watching my back, amnd one was coming the one packing heat. I like to get against a wall then all I have to worry about is being shot from the front.

Five cops got me one night, they chocked me till blood came out of my mouth, this was for a expired liscene plate ticket my boss didn't pay. I could have gotten away from the cops and even took one of their weapons, but it wouldn't of gotten me any thing except shot. The next day boy did the Judge bitch the cops out. A witness had told what the cops did to me, and I had done nothing but coperate.
I had a attorney and was going to sue but my Attorneys's brother had been killed in a auto accident and she didn't show.
Those cops told the judge I had put my thumbs in my belt loop is why they couldn't put the cuffs on me, stupid pigs had 2 cops on each arm and the fifth one choking me.
You can try this as the cops are grabbing you, say wait a minute let me put my thumbs in my belt loops, stupid pigs, for one thing the belt loops would rip off. They just grab me I didn't have time to find my belt loops, but I was just relaxed they couldn't cuff me till I let them, and the only reason I did was because of my 7 year old watching them choke me.

The only way to make them pay is to make them pay.

I was always taught to never punch someone in the head, reason being one guy you will break hand on their face the other guy you might kill.

Yeah, definitely sue. And not only that, go to the police and press charges! They committed an unwarranted assault. That's a crime, just because they're big bad bouncers doesn't give them that right. Have the arrested, but don't wait, the longer you wait, the weaker your position becomes...

So after talking to a few attorneys it seems as if it would be a gamble to win this. I am not a gambling man. The elements are not really in my favor anymore. 1st I should have went to see medical right away. So now there is no medical bills to be taken care of. No report. Just my friends who were as one attorney said, soft witnesses because they are my friends. It's a tough one to win and if you don't it will be time and money out my pocket which I can't afford.

He DID SAY however that I may be able to get the max $7500 in small claims court if I was interested in going that route.

I phoned the establishment and asked to speak with a manager. I informed him that I was assaulted on Friday night and asked if he knew about it. He said no but would have to look at the reports. He says they make a report after each incident. Yea right. I told him I am very upset and was thinking about looking at my legal options. He immediately said I should phone back and talk to the General manager around 6:00pm. Any advice?
