He's still in the corner sulking about Don't Ask Don't Tell being repealed, I think. He's pretty upset about that.

On the one hand, many kids are unruly, unpredictable, sneaky, and private about what they do no matter how good your parenting skills are. But on the other hand, it takes a lot of intestinal fortitude and family sacrifice to run for public office, particularly at the higher levels, and attacks are unfortunately part of the bargain, so there's no way she was clueless about the possible consequences or has any call to act shocked and all righteous and indignant. People look to their leaders to be shining examples...whether that's right or wrong is a whole other debate. Her drive and ambition are megastrong for her to have put her family in the limelight the way she did, when she did, knowing full well what effects it would probably have on her kids. Sometimes you just have to seize the opportunity, I guess.

Thank you for your understanding. I myself, the least of you all(a sinner).
For some unknown reason, God love's me, and has shown things not of
this world. When I raised my children, I wasn't not given an instruction book.
But, I did understand the ten commandants. Not 266,000 laws nowdays.
Two son's, both very different for each other. The oldest reads the bible to
his daughters and explains its meaning. The other son, is live day by day.
He believes in God, but that as further as it goes.
As parent's we do are best, we have no instructions, unless you look at the
bible. I seen many family come and go, and some live to be 300 yrs old.
Again, and read learn from those before us.

Yes, we raise are children under what God said. We are responsible for
for them until they are 18 yrs old. Believe me, I raise mine, for what is right.
I cannot change who they are, only God can change them.
Please don't miss understand, They are who they are, They
are God's children, put them in his loving hand, and deal with it!

LOL, they are not my minions, despite how much easier that would make my life. They have their own interests, thoughts, views, opinions that are different than mine, I accept that. I have raised them to have their own minds, but in my house they have rules if they don't like the rules they are free to leave at 18, if that's what they want. Will I follow the moves an 18 year old on line, not nearly as much as I do now, but we are not there yet.

With that, I'm respectfully done discussing my parenting style as it is not on topic

As to McCain, you're probably right

As for Palin the parent, I just think that she should stay out of my house until her house is in order. She, on occasion, likes to get all preachy and religious (like Beck's slow transition to minister, just a personal theory) and I think before she gives opinions on life and the importance of family as such, she needs to clean up her own. Otherwise, she comes off looking like a bigger sham, imo.

Neither parents, nor kids, are perfect and mistakes will be made no doubt about that, but when you put your business out there, don't be surprised when it bites you in the (l).

Absolutely and positively couldn't agree more. Stay outta my house. And quit judging me...especially when...

You might be the average Jane (debatable) and represent some faction of American citizenry, but you by no means stand for the all or even the majority as you imply over and over, and by these implications you alienate more than you know.

OBITUARY 1-13-2011

Interesting thread, "Sarah Palin - Foot in Mouth!!???? Again!!!!????" Passed away Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2011 after a lingering full page off-topic discourse on child-rearing skills or the lack of.

It will be remembered for being composed of a good 50-50 split of pros and cons, with a very popular consensus that everybody has had their fill of the pseudo-entertainer Sarah Palin.

No services are anticipated.

But, I see ominous dark things coming from this. She's too high, too fast and too reckless to end obscurely. She most certainly is not presidential material in any sense. Unless the United States becomes some severely unflattering caricature of what we once collectively thought it was.

Generally, I agree with you, but you give the American people too much credit.
20% of all American's polled believe the sun revolves around the earth. Quite a few them believe evolution isn't real, that humans coexisted with dinosaurs. Even better, some of them still believe Saddam had WMD's and ties to 9/11.

Palin could very well win. And I will expatriate at that point. I'm not kidding. O course many of the posters here will be thinking and saying "Omg thank goodness one more liberal gone". I don't want to be here when that woman screws up.

i somehow think that her own speech writers/campaign managers/etc are purposely having this woman come out to look as the dumbest politician to ever grace the stage. and i have to thank them for that...cuz this broad deserves no power whatsoever at any lvl of governing. leave it to those who have a passion for it.. she quit as governor..period

No part of who they are is you. If you don't teach your kids acceptance and tolerance (which as a republican Palin likely has some anti-gay stances, though I may be wrong) then it is one you.

It's a combination of nature and nurture. Sorry, but you are wrong.
Not saying anything about your father skills, if your kids are good kids, then you likely had something to do with it. If they aren't than you likely didn't have enough to do with it.

But Palin won't bring them home??
Also off topic, but I notice I make more weird grammatical and spelling errors on this board than anywhere else.
Sometimes I'll look back and swear it had to be a glitch.

I love alaska, i think its cool that sarah hunts, i agree with alot of her values.. but she is really STUPID sometimes.

BLOOD LIBEL is a classic anti semitic term... every jew hears it as an acusation that their passover rites require the blood of an innocent child...

either palin is just an unaware fool.. or she is LAUNCHING a verbal projectile into a situation that before she only HAD CROSSHAIRS ON.

at best she is whining about how she is being slandered. even before the 9 year old can be put to rest.

at worst she is revealing that the jewish LOUGHNER was recruited and handled and that this whole ASSASINATION and SACRIFICE of a child has some deeper occult zionist agenda.

or maybe she is just using CODE to reveal truth to those who have ears to hear...

Sarah is a woman named Sarah
thus a woman named Sarah is Sarah
Sarah is many things Thus many things she can be and is and she is Sarah the woman.
She has a foot and a mouth thus she can join them together thus putting one inside the other
thus having a foot in the mouth,
but in this case I dont see it
THUS
the drama

all belongs to Jared.

I think everyone wants them home, I also know that it is not as easy as a snap of a finger. Global politics is a difficult game and being a complete isolationist is not an option any longer.

Does that mean that we need to be involved in multiple simultaneous armed conflicts? No. But even without Iraq and Afghanistan we would still have a military presence in multiple countries.

Why do you think we are still in Afghanistan 10 years later? Why do you believe we are no longer looking for bin Laden? After all it was (according to our government) bin Laden that attacked us, not the country of Afghanistan, and Iraq had zero to do with it, so why collapse two governments?

We now have to rebuild these countries, if we demo and ditch we will have a much bigger problem on our hands with many more supporters.

I'm certain Palin would tell you she'd bring them home, I also think if she were given the opportunity we would still be in the same mess we are now because I do not think she understands the global and or interior dynamic of it all.
