I've already shared my concern about adjusting this ONE airport.

So if time is to be wasted, the onus is on you..... to scroll back and find my posts explaining my confusion. Because I'm certainly not gonna belabor this anymore. There are bigger issues to sort out.

Well my language is english and the meaning of "don't show me any quarter" is don't show me any mercy. The point of my post is that you are indicative of why people really need to educate themselves. So I basically called you an idiot and told you I now deserve what ever hateful or derogatory reply you want to make, and don't be easy on me I am an adult.

But regardless of all that I really would like to hear your explanation for the gravity coming from the core of a planet statement. That was comedy gold, I literally was laughing to myself. It was so good I might even add it to my signature to go along with another statement you made once that I got a kick out of.

Some more bird deaths have been happening around here in North Carolina, yet the local news isn't picking it up. I am having to find out information from people around the area, which are passing it on through the stores and local business's. I am actually shocked that the airport changing the lines even hit the news in Florida. Figuring here in North Carolina, they haven't even said a single thing yet about the bomb threat at a local school even after over 100 emails from parents.

One thing that we do know is that the weather lately is really funky every wheres, we also know that birds and fish are dying and for no real reason. We also can add to that Coyotes. I have noticed a difference as of lately, and its a biggie, normally every night all night long we can hear the coyotes howling and yipping, yet this past 3 days not a single yip. Where did they go? Or why have they stopped?

It probably wouldn't change since if it was installed and pointed using latitude and longitude, directions are based upon true north and are not affected by magnetic declination. Actually it was probably pointed by aiming at the point of highest signal strength from the satellite. So don't move it.

So let me get this straight:

Known Facts:

Magnetic poles move.
Magnetic poles move (total) up to 85km/day in circular/elipitical/hell...random patterns.
Pole is moving (linear) at approx 45-55km/day for the last (2?) decades versus the recorded 15 - 25km/day.


Unkowns:

Has the pole's overall movement exceed the average 85km / day?

Call me when there is cause for concern.

This thread would be a lot shorter if people didnt need to continue to point out that compasses point to magnetic north and that is different from true north. Do you really need to stroke your own ego to continue to point that out?

Just based off of quick fuzzy math I am a bit confused how people think it will take thousands of years for magnetic pole switch to happen (once the switch begins).
If the current rate of movement is 25mi/yr it would take roughly 500 years for the poles to switch, given that the earth is ~12500 mi from the north pole to south pole. Assuming that it is indeed accelerating and moving southward it seems that the time frame for the switch would be much less than 500 years given the assumptions.

Ok the magnetic poles have been sitting this way for 700000 years, the concern is that they're now starting to switch and the process is accelerating. If I missed a link that explains any of this I'd appreciate it if someone would quote it.

Furthermore, not every planet has a moon (regardless that ours is probably artificial).
So in (your) theory Life does not.... can not nor will ever exist on say..........Venus.

If the motto to this forum is deny ignorance and people are calling you out for making ignorant statements then you need to be more self critical. I'm new here and find your posts interesting, they'd be even more interesting if you had a stronger factual basis so people could asses your ideas better instead of pointing out the flaws in your thought process. Get a thicker skin and we'll all benefit.

Magnetic flux expulsion from the core as a possible cause of the unusually large acceleration of the north magnetic pole during the 1990s

The north magnetic pole (NMP) has been drifting in a north-northwesterly direction since the 19th century. Both local surveys and geomagnetic models derived from observatory and satellite data show that the NMP suddenly accelerated during the 1990s. Its speed increased from about 15 km/yr in 1989 to about 60 km/yr in 2002, after which it started to decrease slightly. Using a Green's function, we show that this acceleration is mainly caused by a large, negative secular variation change in the radial magnetic field at the core surface, under the New Siberian Islands. This change occurs in a region of the core surface where there is a pair of secular variation patches of opposite polarities, which we suggest could be the signature of a so-called “polar magnetic upwelling” of the type observed in some recent numerical dynamo simulations. Indeed, a local analysis of the radial secular variation and magnetic field gradient suggests that the secular variation change under the New Siberian Islands is likely to be accompanied by a significant amount of magnetic diffusion, in agreement with such a mechanism. We thus hypothesize that the negative secular variation change under the New Siberian Islands that produced the NMP acceleration could result from a slowdown of the polar magnetic upwelling during the 1990s. We finally note that the NMP drift speed is determined by such a combination of factors that it is at present not possible to forecast its future evolution.

TAMPA - Scientists say the magnetic north pole is moving toward Russia and the fallout has reached -- of all places -- Tampa International Airport.

I've been flying airplanes since I was 15 years old. The magnetic drift has been an ongoing thing. Airport runways are numbered by their magnetic heading and are re-numbered every few years due to the shift/drift. Every aviation map (called sectionals) shows the magnetic deviation (or declination) for every area on the map. It varies throughout the earth due to a number of factors. There are two NORTH poles. TRUE north and MAGNETIC north. There is no conspiracy here, folks. Its just a natural drift and continues. Yes, there are anomalies. My father discovered one of those during WWII when he was a crash inspector for the Army Air Corps. Large iron ore lodes in some parts of the world cause compasses to behave irratically and this causes some pilots to become disoriented and crash. There are at least two such locations in the continental USA. I work for a company that maintains a large database of aviation information and that includes runway info. As both a pilot and a manager of a database I have seen plenty of runways being renumbered. Nothing new, nothing secret, nothing conspiratorial. In fact, this year, I read that the large earthquake in South America may have added to a shift in the magentic pole that was significant (not HUGE, but statistically significant). That's life. We are on a large ball with a liquid core moving thru space at 70,000 plus mph, that rotates at about 17,000 mph. Things will shift. Look at the drift of the continents over the millenia. The pole moves all the time. Literally. It is not "accelerating", as in "oh my God, it's out of control!" it's just moving faster than it did -- it's not continual acceleration.

Well you MIGHT try reading the actual scientific papers that show you are WRONG. It has been accelerating

Never heard of the North Atlantic Anomaly but the South Atlantic Anomaly is the point where the where the Earth's magnetic field is weakest. and thus were the Van Allen Belt radiation is the strongest
