Police haven't said how Wheeler was murdered or even where he was actually killed. They are looking at a legal battle with a neighbor -- but friends say they can't imagine that dispute would have led to his death.

Still going with the neighbor dispute eh. I just do not see that as a theory....but again, hardly have any facts to go on since LE are being mum on it all.

Wow. Those "Law Enforcement Sources" must be good at their job, to have gone through this man's gargantuan resume in so few days, and be able to make a proclamation as sweeping as that!

But later in the article, they mention white latex gloves, found in one of the dumpsters:

The first stop was a bank in College Square shopping center. Two trash bins at the rear of a bank are just yards away from two surveillance cameras and in sight of several storefronts and a heavily traveled road.

Inside one was a pair of white latex gloves, similar to those used by police evidence technicians.

This is the only source I have seen for these gloves... are there any other sources that mention them?

Great Van Susteren is discussing this case now on Fox.....she is usually really good about covering cases such as this.

On Dec. 29, Wheeler entered the parking garage wearing what appeared to be a sports coat. The next day, Wheeler was spotted wearing a dark colored zip-up hooded sweatshirt, police Lt. Mark Farrall said.

To me it's just like a spy thriller, where a person discovers they are being pursued, they start checking their clothing and shoes, etc for tracking devices, they try and stay in public places, and figure a way to obtain new clothing. I his case, he managed to find a dark hooded sweatshirt. Doesn't sound like his regular outfit. Didn't go to the cops after claiming to have ben robbed, didn't call anyone for help, didn't respond to emails.

The last thing he wrote on the 28th on a forum with his alumni, was this quote about how the NCAA is a corrupt money game. Seams like if this wasn't cryptic, or inspired/venting due to some other mores serious thing he was upset about or knew about, it is at least evidence that this person is against corruption, fraud, and money games. This makes one think if he had known something to do with corruption, fraud, etc, he might be the type to go public, leak secrets, or fight against it in some way.

My best guess is that he was targeted for a reason involving him being fed up and trying to do the right thing, in the face of some kind of corruption.

Sounds like the Police just want this case to disappear as fast as they got it. The John Wheeler case has to be kept alive until every stone has been turned upside down.

Noticed how fast they got that pharmacist and her story out not to mention the security video footage? They do want this to disappear.It seems that this case is opening a can of worms.

I think it is a conspiracy but I think he killed himself. I think he felt very much guilt or something and was not able to stop something. His behavior was strange, I think he planned to dump himself in the heap as he killed himself somehow. He supposedly send smoke bombs to the house across his street, I think he might have sent those smoke bombs to Annapolis Maryland goverment buildings too.

You think he killed himself after he placed himself inside a garbage container?

Can you please expand on your theory of him killing himself and how it could have been accomplished?

UPDATE:

Police are now saying that devices found in the neighbor's house are connected to Wheeler.
Also, his cell phone was found inside the neighbors (still in contruction) house. (heard on news....searching for online sources to link)

Still does not explain his odd wandering around the city and his death.

Can people please stop posting links to that eutimes.net / Sorcha Faal article - which is considered a known hoaxer source on ATS? It's been posted more than a few times on this and the other Wheeler thread.

The phosgene bird-death red herring comes from a hoaxer. And now I am seeing mainstream news stories using this as the standard 'conspiracy theories' about Wheeler, as if it were the only amateur sleuthing into his death.

In fact, John Wheeler's friend wrote on the Atlantic today:

Anyone following this story is aware that there has been a parallel discussion, at sites I'm deliberately not linking to, that has resolved all mysteries with one sweeping conspiratorial explanation. To sum up this (far-fetched) view: it is "no accident" that Wheeler died around the time of the also-mysterious mass death of birds in the Midwest. The birds were the victim of a military poison-gas test (or leak, or whatever); Wheeler, a one-time Pentagon staffer and a recent Mitre corporation employee, obviously "knew too much" about the evil plans; and so he was eliminated near the headquarters of (naturally) the DuPont corporation, which manufactures exotic chemicals.

John P. Wheeler's murder investigation by Newark, Delaware Police Department can't afford to get sidelined by red herrings in this case.

Red herrings in the Pentagon and ex-Bush aide case include John's erratic behavior. The Delaware police have stated that they know of no known mental or physical health conditions that would have caused it.

Another red herring--how John got from Point A (Wilmington AMTRAK station) to Point B (the Pharmicist in Wilmington) to Point C (the New Castle County Courthouse) to Point D (Hotel du Pont) and on to Point E (Nemours Building) is throwing investigators off their game.

John Wheeler's transportation method isn't the issue other than to tie into his murder, since his body was most definitely transported some distance from his last known location.

Newark PD have a man making it into town on the day he was expected to and dead three days later.

They have someone in his home who wore workboots and had John's television up on a high level for days, but remained "unseen" by his neighbors.

Wheeler's death investigators have knowledge that John was not imprisoned at any point from the time he arrived in Wilmington on the 28th until he was last seen at the Nemours Building.

The former Army officer moved about freely and chose not to go to his residence--staying at Hotel du Pont, in his own words.

John Wheeler had money, sufficient enough to pay for a hotel and carry around $120 on his person, obviously

Law enforcement personnel in Delaware also have the knowledge about the exact cause of death of John P. Wheeler III and the exact time of death, which they aren't sharing with the general public. So they have enough information to successfully work this case.

Red herrings in this case make for titillating media conversation, but when it is all said and done John P. Wheeler's murder investigation won't be solved by focusing on the red herrings.

Interesting! The cell phone found in the neighbor's house is very new. The fact they found a smoke bomb in the Marini's house was reported several days ago, but I don't recall them linking it to him before.

Delaware Online has put up a good resource of all their reporting on the Wheeler murder mystery.

Cellphone update

Action News has learned that the police now have Wheeler's cell phone.

A source tells us they found it in the house under construction across the street from Wheeler's home in New Castle.

Police have been looking into the possibility that Wheeler may have set off smoke bombs in the house last Tuesday night.

The same article also says - contrasting earlier articles - that it was the Investigators who ripped up the floorboards, not that they found them ripped up.

Investigators have removed floor boards near the kitchen sink in Wheeler's home and have surrounded the area with evidence tape.

Or is this a different part of the kitchen? There were earlier reporrts, related to the loud TV noises for several days, saying police on the seen found removed floorboards at the scene.

They also found a boot print in the kitchen.

They also dusted the kitchen floor for shoeprints which reveal someone was inside with what appears to be work boots with a knobby tread.

Do they fit Wheeler's feet? He already had one strange outfit change.

How is this for speculation: He knows the true reason why those birds and fish turned up dead (bioweapons test gone wrong, accident involving poison gas spill, or something along those lines) then he is killed to keep the lid on the whole affair. Time frame, location and overall areas of involvement for this guy line up with this hypothesis.

Please, the bird deaths and the death of Wheeler are not related. This type of speculation makes all of us here at ATS look like tin foil hat wearers!

The bird deaths are a mystery of their own, they are world wide, not just in Arkansas, and have continued to occur since the death of Wheeler. Jeez.
