For now, focusing on the biggest clue with the Arkansas bird kill would be the way the birds died. Blunt force trauma to the breast area means they flew into something in mid air, with enough force to cause internal bleeding which caused shock and then death. This type of injury wouldn't be caused by the birds falling to the ground. So speculation on what happened needs to be narrowed down to what could cause this specific type of injury with the breast area receiving the impact.
