oh, and that last quake (24 hrs ago - yesterday ) was in Japan too...

no big deal, just a coincidence,
but was interested to see that story going around about " prepare day" in Japan,
+ where people were saying Tokyo was due for a big one...

i personally believe that is true, TOYKO, for some reason,
just seems to be in a prime spot,
right where those tectonic boundaries ( X3 ), all converge...

Have any of you ever looked at Google Sky (the constellations) with your earthquake information loaded? I did this last night. Constellation Cassiopia (sp) has all the Alaska quakes in it. I went to USGS and noted the day and time of the 6.2 Fox Islands quake and then opened Stellarium and the closest place I could find there was Unalaska, which is in the same area and there was Cassiopia almost right overhead.

I was going to check other places but as I had Google Sky and Stellarium and my browser all open at once my computer decided it was all too much handle and it just stopped. And I went to bed.

I will do some more research later. I don't know where I am going with this. Just something interesting to me I guess.

The Netherlands? Fa Real?? By Amsterdam the only place in the world (well I do have more but this is one place I really wanna go to) I want to go and hang??

I haven't had the opportunity to do so...I will have to get my son to show me how to do it.

Sounds interesting though and would to hear comments about it.

I've seen that before, where USGS claimed Canadian quakes in the Yukon as being in Alaska

EMSC 51.76° N 5.95° E (downgraded to 4.3ML and shifted 0.05 degress Latitude and 0.02 degrees Longitude since Cherryontop posted it)

Something 5ish coming in from Samoa region now on LISS, spotted just after 2049UTC

showing strongest on AFI(Samoa) 1928UTC
and
SNZO (New Zealand) 1940UTC

no listing yet

Netherlands 4+ seems to be a long way from the induced quake areas, too

I looked at the link, and had the USGS map up all morning. I didn't see any huge red dot, on your link or other wise.

Where was it located?

I know a couple/few months back, there was some glitch that was a huge red dot off the east coast of the US, that was the only time I had ever seen that happen.

Agreed looks reversed but my Heart skipped a few beats when I checked the site actually. Thought it was going down for a second.

Then I realized they say the mag numbers stop at what 10 I think so a 38 something is off the scale.
