I highly suggest keeping an eye on HAARP's induction magnometer, found on their website. A possible correlation between ultra low/extremely low frequency transmissions from the facility and the quakes could predict future quakes.

I didn't know Dali ate for free!! Imagine what those napkins must be worth now. If I could figure out how to correctly post my avatar you'd be able to see the whole thing!

On topic, from watching you and Puterman's conversations I had a bad feeling that this might be the foreshock but had hoped not. I've watched your thread on the New Madrid and I must say I'm a little concerned right now. Thank you for all your insight. You, Puterman, WestCoast, True American and Muzzy should be compensated for the knowledge and footwork you guys put in to these earthquake threads.

Thank you by the way for the explanation as to why we're not seeing multiple aftershocks

I have no idea what he is talking about. What is meant by last 10 minutes? The shaking? No , the signature? What is the problem with that? The length it 'lasts' depends on how far the instrument is from the event to some degree,

Take a look at any LISS recorder. Signatures can go across hour boundaries.

Ignore it. Sounds like pratt talking.

I look at the magnetometer almost daily. It measures magnetism, the magnetic field in other words. It has absolutely positively naff all to do with the HIGH FREQUENCY auroral array and anyway ELF waves are radio. If radio could make anything vibrate or resonate we would all be dancing a jig every minute of the day with the radio frequencies around us. Read the thread.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

When you have read that, then come back. If you still think that is the case then please explain it in simple terms so I can understand it.

odds of 1 in 22,727.

don'y fancy those odds.
I'm glad we decided agaisnt nuclear power back in the 70's.
what kin of crazyiness is behind building nuclear power plants on an earthquake faultline

How about that?

I am sure we need no other compensation than that people appreciate our efforts and learn something.

Thank you Puterman! I'm gonna try to switch it right now! If we could find an alchemist to turn our gratitude into gold you'd be a very wealthy man.

Small?

CBN.US.00.BHZ.2011.236

by comparison to

CBN.US.00.BHZ.2011.235

ETA: Mm, 4.2 eh? Did I misread the scales?

This one is a tad SE of the 5.9. Any guesses, is this an aftershock or a separate event?

OK, if that was a 4.2 and the other was a 5.8 take a look at these which I have ensured are the same vertical scales (the others were by the way more or less)

www.iris.washington.edu...
www.iris.washington.edu...

I have seen bigger 2.5 traces in Arkansas than that second one.

Any ideas anyone?

ETA: Just as a comparison here is the Colorado 5.3 at the same scale

www.iris.edu...

Not much difference in distance of station so should be a reasonable comparison.

NADA. Other than...WHAT???

I kept refreshing that page for the second quake, thinking it must still be loading. I mean..yah, it is deeper...but come on!

Either:

A. The first quake was a WHOLE heck of a lot bigger than they are saying
B. The second quake is smaller (which it isn't.I posted a pic of it from GEE and it looked to be around a 4.5)
C. These are NOT typical quakes that we are seeing
D. The second quake is going to be re-figured and placed at a different location....

I don't know. I am sure there are many other options, but CLEARLY something is off here. We (several here) have been saying this now since the Colorado quake and I think we are only getting louder.

I tell ya....something is smelling like rotten eggs.

ETA: Here is the screen shot I took of it just a bit ago....along with another quake in Colorado. I'm telling you, they are having a lot of 'echos' to each other. It's downright eerie.

The 5.8 showed at 17.37 mm/s at US.CBN:

That's MM/S, not MICRONS/SEC

So I don't see how 400 microns/sec translates into a 4.2, when the epicenter was even closer to the station!

Darn straight something isn't right. When I saw it, I guessed around 2.5 to 3- but 4.2?

:shk:
