I would only think that was weird if she had already shot him down. If she hadn't already done that... would it really be so strange? What if it was in the phone book. Even if he had to dig a little, at first it would have just been an indication of interest. Which came first?

To be honest his emails sound like they were written by Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory

I think he's just an old fashioned type of person that's all
It's also a shame that people would find his manner of speakig creepy because they are too dumb to understand what he's saying

Had she had any brain cells to rub together she would have been more insulted at being compared to Miriam from 'Of Human Bondage', although she appears to have lived up to the comparison, that is one of the nastiest women in literary romance...poor Julian, he appears, if nothing else, to have a fairly consistent and appalling taste in women.

What do you mean why am I angry? It is corrupt exploitation of an unprovable event, used by the media, to discredit and assassinate the character of someone who has become a political enemy.

Oh please. I could always say that Assange commits character assassination of various US diplomats, agents and their foreign counterparts. Who I guess are his political enemies.

As a crude example, look, assume you have an aunt who's overweight. In you letter to mom, you mention that giving aunty spandex pants for Christmas was a really bad idea since she gained weight and looks ridiculous in her new pants. Assange forwards this mail to the aunt. She feels hurt. She start hating you even though you were OK before. And no crime was committed.

There is simply no reason why a diplomatic dispatch from Kabul should become public domain. There is no more reason for that compared to someone's love letters being made public. So seriously... If he feels offended by the revelation, it's karma.

That's what people are like though. If it had turned out not to have been him that walked her home, i am sure it would have been a different story.
Maybe she was annoyed, because she didn't understand any of it and when she found out who he was, tried to cover up her embarrassment. I think i would have kicked myself too!!!

Julian should have realised though, just because she's educated, doesn't make her worldly or even nice.

What made me laugh was knowing who he is today,even if her phone number wasn't listed how difficult would be for him to find it.And besides when you are interested in someone you can find a lot of things just by asking around.We did that in school.Not that big deal.

Why would he choose such orotund and olde worldly turns of phase? I would have though he would have been more "Street". He is a journalist after all as opposed to a professor of Victorian English.

Or a complete social douche bag! Although we have all sent messages to women that are embarrassing... this is written by a socially awkward man.

I am not saying anything is wrong with that... Just creepy in tone and wording.

Lol does anyone really care? Seriously, I know there have been a few mornings I woke up with a hangover, looked at my out box and face palmed over an email I sent. I am glad the people I associate with aren't total jerks, and didn't post it on the internet for all to see. Then again I have dirt on all them too :p
