Why is white pride a bad thing?

Such is the way of the human. Besides a few cultures throughout Asia, MAN in general is what you describe regardless of color.

Adolf Hitler did not include all White people to be Aryans. He hated his enemies. People like the Polish, French, English and so forth were seen less in his eyes

I can understand what the OP is saying. If Asians or Blacks organized to celebrate Asian or Black heritage in general, it would be fine. Either would be seen as a great cultural event. But such an event with Whites would be only for neo-nazis and skinheads, right?

And I can understand the argument that its only when we celebrate being White as a race that it is racist. Maybe my life is the exception, but I personally rarely to never hear any of my Asian friends refer to themselves as anything but Asian. The same goes for my Black friends. I never hear any of them celebrating being Mongolian or Tanzanian or etc., respectively. It's always just Asian or Black pride. As I said, perhaps this is just my experience.

In addition, I know as well as anyone that Whites haven't had the most peaceful history. It has been full of war and conquest. However, you cannot look at Asian, Black, or Mexican history and say that it isn't the same. The difference is Whites were able to organize and get more resources faster. Just because we have been involved in or even caused many major conflicts, doesn't mean we were the only warlike people. Mexico, like America, was created via the virtual destruction of each area's Natives. Asia was for centuries was torn by powerful dynasties and barbarian groups. Africa still fights with itself to this day and struggles for advancement.

You can't look back at history and say Whites were the worst. Everyone was terrible. Whites just found more success in their conquests.

No racism implied, and do forgive me if you interpret anything as such. Anyway, that's my two cents..

I know, but he created a meme. A common sense that the aryans=white people. There is so many people that dont know history too much and are influencied by other sources. It's a racist game.

Because white pride has been associated with the kkk, nazism, and ultra-conservatism. Ignorance dominates all viewpoints, but that alone shouldn't deter your pride! Embarace the country your family hails from, learn the culture, and march with your head held high and don't give a flying 747 what the ignorant think, you're standing for what you believe in, and that's all that matters

You're correct with that statement. Heck! Many Russians who died during WW2 would be rolling around their graves seeing their descendants with swastikas.

Its sad. But i think that the russian communism was pretty bad too. The communism killed more people in the world than the nazism. To me all the "ism" are bad things.

Really? Other cultures celebrate because of their cultural history and not their color? Good to know because I wasn't sure if contests and organizations such as the ones linked below were about color or history. Now I see that it's purely about celebrating past oppression that these people can't feel or relate to in any way that isn't arbitrary and superficial.

I guess "white" means different things to different people depending on there views of the world...I don't know how it is in America but i seriously cant imagine a bunch of Italians celebrating a white pride march where im from because of the history between Southern Europeans and Anglosaxons(Aryans).

Western Civ isn't something to be proud of?

Electricity and cars and planes and rockets and TV and the circuit and the microchip and the lightbulb etc aren't things to be proud of?

Personally I'm proud of the fact that white people could go out and take what they wanted better than anyone else.
I'm happy to have central heating on this cold December night. I'm proud of the fact that I have my electrical guitar plugged into my 40 year old Kay amplifier which still works like a charm.

Don't know what you think white people shouldn't be proud of, other than the whole slave thing. I guess we're the ONLY people in history to ever have slaves. Sux.

Whites, or Europeans, celebrate their culture all over the world. Look at St. Patricks day for instance.
The US celebrates it culture in many ways such as 4th of july and Colombus Day.

Black Pride exists almost only in the US and South Africa and is a reaction to the opression that Afro Americans lived trough the 50s and 60s, and colored people during aphartheid in S-A.
The African immigrants I know don't think about black pride in those terms, and celebrate their own countries traditions.They are proud of their countries, not the colour of their skin, same as most people around the world (I live in Europe).

I don't see any reason to celebrate the colour of your skin, Black Pride is just about fighting racism and was intended to create equal rights. It has since become a part of AfroAmerican culture and is now celebrated for the rights they won in the 50s and 60s, not the colour of their skin

EuroAmericans on the other hand seem to celebrate their country of origins celebratory days.
I fail to see why white people should gather to celebrate the colour of their skin, just as I fail to see any other colored people should.

To the racist people that say 'being white isn't a culture', that's as true as saying 'being black isn't a culture'.

If you want to celebrate your culture look beyond the skin color, look at your ancestors, mine are Irish, English, Scottish, German, Jewish. You can choose to research your roots and find the pride of your heritage.

I do agree there are many that are racist against whites in general, I don't assume any one type of people dislike whites, one of my best friends is a black guy who says white and blacks are more similar than the illegals in Los Angeles. He's the first guy that I heard say this, and it makes a lot of sense. It was impossible for him to find a job, because he couldn't speak spanish, and he claimed because they were racist against him. He said he has seen the same racist discrimination against whites in the same city. My friend's name is David Liebe Hart. Anyway I am not racist, never will be, I like to say if I were a Beatle I'd be like John. My eyes were opened a bit though, on Halloween, on that night I was attacked by 3 Mexican-Americans, luckily the police were 200 feet away when it happened, but un-luckily the L.A. police were worthless, they handcuffed the hoodlums for only 15 minutes and then let them go, because I didn't do anything to provoke them, and despite the fact that they were drunk, I would say, I can't deny their crime was fueled by hate, perhaps they wouldn't normally act that way but they were clearly racist against whites.

I'm white. I'm Scottish/French and a smidge native Canadian too. Do I get riled up because I can't have an all-white community centre? Or white pride even? Not really, because the world is my oyster. I think we're all equal now in my nation, everybody has a shot at a fairly happy life. Because (and here's the big secret) the world of yesterday, is not the world of today. What happened not in my lifetime is not my fault, the sins of the father are not the sins of the son, yadda yadda yadda. Race-segregated groups are ridiculous, regardless of which race it represents. But maybe I'm naive and people are still pissed about things that no longer effects us.

Well it is a negative thing to me as anything else by its meaning would not make sense. If I was a dutchman, why on earth would I be proud of what the english or the germans achieved? Why would I be proud of being russian? It can be applied to so many other things. Why if I was Chinese would I be proud of the Japanese achieving something? Or then Japanese culture?

Being proud of a racial trait, being proud of being "white" makes no sense as it is just a trait. You cannot be proud of an appearance trait you were born with as you had nothing to do with it. It makes no sense in any other case other than some superiority complex in my view. Unless you can explain why exactly you are proud?

Why can't you be proud of your own achievements as well? Theres more to life than just looking at other peoples achievements. Really.
