can't you see that there is a fundamental difference between your average Joes email accounts being made public, and the messages between those who lead us being made public? (obviously not)

I'll presume from your pointless post, that you are more than happy with the goverments being totally corrupt, the banks being totally corrupt, and big business being totally corrupt. Which screws with my head somewhat.

Well, i ain't. People in power have responsibility to act responsible. They have our needs at heart, or they should. When it comes up that they do not hove out best interest at heart, and they really don;'t care a jot about us. and will do anything to do anything they like to prove this. Then it's folk like you who are to blame. Those who sat there dribbling into their microwaved dinners, whilst evil cartels rule the world. This evil must be challenged, and MUST be stopped. It's just that simple. It is big business and goverment who create all the illegal wars in this world. But you're just fine with this? That is properly messed up man. You'd rather hundreds of thousands of people are sent to their death, than the truth come out. I can see who the real enemy of the people is, just from that.

My private emails aren't accessible by hundreds of thousands of people. Manning got access because it was easy to. I am also not a public servant with a penchant for spending trillions and lying my way into multiple wars, leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths. If I did any of those things, thing law enforcement could get a warrant to read everything about me. These people are not subject to anyone or anything - they answer to no one because they act in secret.

If you have a problem with personal info being taken, you must have a problem Clinton asking UN diplomats to steal passwords and credit card numbers from other diplomats.

He seems to lack compassion. Though he might feel justified in releasing the data, the fact that he does not take into account the livelihoods and safety of those affected shows that he does not understand Love.

It's almost as if he has never had a loving relationship in his life. There is bad karma around this guy. You can almost see the aura of death around him.

He may become the martyr he wishes to be.

Oh, you mean he's a politician.

Go figure.

There are good intentions behind Wikileaks, I imagine, but...somethings I don't care to know about. If diplomacy is being made at all, then why does it bother anyone? Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is a suspicious character. While I'm not buying into the rape charges filed against him. He's not someone that I would trust outright.
Who is benefiting from all this information exactly? I can understand the Iraq logs to a certain degree, but this? I'm beginning to wonder what exactly Wikileaks is targeting or intending to accomplish.

No worries. Thanks for recognizing we're not all brainwashed idiots, who accept our government's murderous misdeeds as the price of our limited freedom.

Lets see what has come of this:

-The Iranians are mad at the Saudis
-The North Koreans are mad at the Chinese
-The French, Russians, Italians, english royalty and much more are mad at the USA
-The Arabs are mad at the Jews (no surprise there)
-and so on ad nauseum

Yeah, these releases are great for world stability

Me to.

But they'll consider releasing Pollard. They aren't interested in justice. They are only interested in revenge.

not being a Sociology Nobel Prize Winner I can easily understand US Embassies have to do whatever is needed to protect US/USG interests.

i assume my own embassy and any other around is more or less doing the same according to their capabilities. Any involved gov reaction taken due to these leaks would be blatantly ridiculous.

i just wish Mr. Assange was revealing more info on other world governments. im really tired of the "Evil US" speech for god's sake.

Think you'll find the south were conducting artillery drills before the attack.

Interesting! Thank you for the info.

If the Hoguk exercise is an annual one performed by South Korea, why start shelling them now? Why not the first time they ran it?

This whole wikileaks thing...the more I hear about it the more I think it all a smoke screen.
Think about it. Pretty much all that is comming out is small potatoes on the grand scheme of things. But to the individual it might seem like a really big deal. The international scene is a whole other world than the one in which we live in. The rules are different, the way they think is different. Even their way of life is different. If I were the PTB, I would exploit that and give him what ever he "thinks" he wanted while I frolic in my own crapulance.

One thing the OP does not know, these were not secrets to those who control the world. These secrets are ones that are kept from the general public. So they have no effect on the general public, because we don't have the power. The secrets are what keeps the public from having the power. GIVE US THE POWER and let us know the secrets. All the best secrets were not even in the leak.

So, what exactly where you expecting? Pictures of Eisenhower arm-wrestling a Grey alien? A step-by-step process for synthesizing and operating hylonanotechnology in your kitchen?

Just because something looks worthless to you doesn't mean that it's not worthless to someone with a different skillset.

My home, family, and children are at risk because the Supreme Court ruled that the job of the police is not to protect them. They are at risk becuase, like almost two thirds of the people in the US they live in a zone where the Constitution technically doesn't apply. They are at risk because national security letters allow federal agents to put anyone they think looks interesting under passive electronic surveillance without a warrant.

I'm not worried about Julian Assange or Wikileaks causing people like you and I harm. I'm worried about what TPTB are doing every day without oversight or recourse.

For those who are attempting to make Assange out to be a "hero" let me ask you this. How comfortable would you be if someone were to make all of your private information available to the public?

The generally lousy security of US banks and hospitals does that just fine, thank you. You'll find some downright scary things in here that aren't getting much press...

You dont seem to understand the whole idea of this thread. The guy is leaking important AMERICAN documents. That makes him an enemy of this great country and I. That is like an act of war. If he was american, us real American citizens would have him tried. FOR TREASON. The fact that hes not, makes me very angry. How would he like it if someone here posted his countries secrets online? How would YOU like it if it was your country? People have to do what they have to do for security, and this WL guy certainly crossed a line.

I hate to break it to you, but Wikileaks has posted leaked documents from many countries. Not all of those countries speak English as a primary or secondary language, either. Links to the WL archives are in another thread, go do a little light reading...

So, Bin Laden a CIA agent. I was going to say that, but then eveyone would think I was an ..... (make up your own word here, but don't use ass, it's taken)

He was an asset, not an agent. Assets are in cahoots with the Agency, agents are on the payroll; they were both getting something they wanted and found useful out of the relationship. Only thing is, it blew up in their faces a couple of years back.

The people have every right to know, read about and understand exactly how much the US has been screwing the world around. I hope this leads to total diplomatic isolation and ridicule for the US,

1 - Obviously you think that the USA is the only one to have behind closed doors deals and discussions with other countries. That's ABSURD.
2 - Nothing that has been revealed should 'lead to total diplomatic isolation and ridicule' for the USA. So America spys on other countries and the United Nations. SO WHAT? Everyone does. Every country spies on other countries for the good of their own country. If American officials weren't spying on other countries, then they wouldn't be doing their job correctly.

Because of these revelations, I have cancelled my planned trip to the US, and rebooked for a nice long weekend in Switzerland.

1 - Good. You won't be missed.
2 - Switzerland, eh?
You think that these other countries don't spy on other countries? You think that their diplomats don't think poorly of diplomats from other countries?

Buddy .. I've got a bridge to sell ya' in Brooklyn.

All these pages ... bunches of comments like these ... and yet no one can explain exactly what nafarious things the USA supposedly did. EVERYONE spys on everyone else. EVERYONE has diplomacy going on behind the scenes. And yet all we hear is a bunch of anti-american bunk going on. :shk:

other countries aren't as retarded as the one I live in, the US.

You think the US is retarded and yet you live here? How about you go live elsewhere for a while and get back to us in a year or two, let us know how it goes. Go on over to Iran (hope you aren't gay or you'll legally be hung in the town square). Go on over to Egypt (hope you aren't a female rape victim or you'll get flogged for being raped). Go on over to Saudi Arabia (hope you dont' intend to hold hands with a person of the opposite sex and walk outside your home. You'll be in prison). Go on down to Mexico (good luck with the drug lords who actually run the country). Go on over to France (Better hope you don't get sick with something serious .. the wait time for that 'free' medical care is pretty bad). Go on over to China (but don't let anyone know what you really think .. to speak freely means an unending jail term at best).

Stop trying to turn this into something anti-america. He was provided info about the US, he released the info about the US. I'm sure if he had the same info about other countries he would've done the same.

And why are you so sure of that? This guy is nothing more than a NWO tool with $$$ in his eyes. This whole thing was a careful chess game move by the NWO. It seriously defeats diplomacy and negotiations that were ongoing behind closed doors. In the future diplomacy and peace negotiations will be much more difficult because of the release of this information that no one needed to know about. It has done NO GOOD for it to be released. Those really running things - the NWO - just got a power boost because the diplomats of the world just got beaten up.

So we should silence him so that the unjust and pure evil agendas may continue without change, right?

Exactly WHAT was 'unjust and pure evil' that was released? hmmmm? That countries spy on each other for their own self security? That diplomats call each other names when the other isn't around? SO WHAT? That's not 'unjust and pure evil'.
