There has already been at least one thread on here today about it and I believe the conclusion was that they are part of the mountainous backdrop.

Yep, given the link Dumbass posted, it appeats that the mountains are indeed there.

Oh well, back to the grind...

Since it's seems from the posts that none of you are from Southern California I will enlighten you on this matter. They are fixed lights and they have been there for a very long time. They get turned on at night for the planes as they come in for landing to LAX when visibility is low due to fog and other inclimate weather and more so even when the night is clear.

Let this be a lesson.
Never post your feelings on a thread until you have read the most recent posts for the page.
It saves a great deal of time pondering and writing.

Yes, good illustration! But do they often change the cam view? I checked it to see the mountain and it's totally different. Maybe I have the wrong cam

Looks like two different but similiar pictures they don't match up as I see it, I will take my glasses off and clean them and check again.....I still don't see the overlap matching....

Looks like reflections on the inside of the round canopy of a helicopter.

Good visual post. The lights are actually on the ridge of the mountain. Nothing unusual!

You are aware that the overlay was of a longer shot and that the in it buildings have less detail. But if you can't tell that they match up with size and shape, even the ones in the foreground..
I think you need to get new glasses!

The images don't line up. At all. Close, but still not the same. Off by several hundred feet of depth and height. Look at the parking garage in the bottom left to see what I refer to. Then move your eyes up the mountain crest. That's a huge difference in distance and height. Not saying it was a UFO, but also not saying it's the mountains.

You have to be kidding me.

This is a UFO?????????

I know that it looks like the mountain lights, but I still want to know why they changed direction at sunrise at that cam. I was waiting to see the mountain come into view! Do they always have the same LAX cam view or do they sometimes change it? It seems really odd. I checked and have the right link - that view is no longer there, just some roads

Now that this has been proven not to be a UFO can the thread title be changed? That was rather quick! One of the many things I love about ATS- you guys have good eyes and minds!

The FAA says the "mountains" in the background are actually condensation trails...

Dunno what you're on about, they line up perfectly fine to me.
